Remember how I said that towns just breed villains? That isn't entirely accurate. Street Rats sometimes promote to other classes, usually Thief or Beggar. But sometimes, they promote to Acrobats. I don't mind Acrobats; I know better than to think of the rooftops as my private domain.
When I walk outside, there are predators. When I cross the ocean, there are predators. Why should walking within the safety of a town wall be any different?
In my case, I was being trailed by an Acrobat. No problem; I'm the creepy lizard-like thing, why wouldn't people be watchful of me? What bothered me was how inept he or she was.
Or perhaps inept is the wrong word. They weren't noisy, they just lacked stealth skills. Maybe they just weren't using them. There is a good deal of distance between the rooftops and the roads.
I suppose it is unfair of me to judge. In my defense, I was deliberately not using stealth skills.
As always, thank you loyal readers. I think everything is set up now, should have a few chapters in a row of ... maybe not action, but conflict to be resolved.
