"You can't mean to just do nothing." I said.
She snorted. "You don't understand who Caitlin Valusigin is."
I took a deep breath, held it, and then exhaled. "I am listening." I said. "Teach me."
"All right, let's start at the beginning. She is what we humans call an enemy. Of my sister, of my family, and of this shop. I owe her no kindness, no mercy."
She squinted her eyes at me. "Do you?"
"I've not properly met the woman." I said.
There was an uncomfortable pause. "Will she truly be safe in the company of three demons?" I asked.
"Three lust demons?" Wendi asked. "From what Gwen has told me, they're doomed."
"Is your sister... objective in this assessment?"
"Objective in... you know too many formal words, and you may speak plainly."
"Is she a Demon-Binder? Skilled in Occult or Eldritch magics?"
Wendi seemed put off by the question. "Are you, my apprentice?"

Mike_Kochis Somewhere on the internet is a meme of a box turtle. "Today, I didn't speak to anyone. Best. Day. Ever." Today, I was triggered twice by people I didn't recognize, in places where what they were doing was suspicious.
In my defense, I recognized those both as PTSD, and left them alone. Besides, I no longer carry my self defense knife. My therapist would be proud of me.
That said... I wanted to write about suspicious Succubi, a chapter that is coming up MUCH later. Again, happy therapist.
Thank you so much for your continued readership. It helped me to NOT engage a darkness that (probably) wasn't actually there.
