Chapter 49: Time Heals All Wounds

Astrids POV

I woke up feeling a bit disoriented. Wiping the sleep from my eyes I got up to use the bathroom. It felt good to finally sleep in my bed once again. Maybe life would now get back to normal, well I hoped it would.

I run a brush through my thick mane of hair. I looked at myself in the mirror, I could hardly recognize myself. My skin had turned immensely pale and my golden eyes looked dull. It was as if I could no longer recognize myself, I had grown tired of everything.

With a sigh, I brushed my teeth and threw some cold water on my face. I put my hair up in a tight ponytail before heading downstairs to breakfast. Arista and my mother sat at the table and I say a quick "good morning" before taking a seat at the table.

"How did you sleep" my mother signed her eyebrows furrowing downwards in question. I noticed my mother looked rather.... different. She looked healthy like she had finally been getting better.
