Chapter 3

Another 2 years passed in a blink and the most joyous event this year was that I had finally accessed my mind scape. It was a barren rocky surface with barely any thing else. The first thing I did was to look at the memories of that perfect night, the night that began it all. The TV broadcast about that serial killer. He imagined a TV and watched the whole thing with glee as the man confessed to his work. With a satisfying sigh and happy smile, Ace closed his eyes and a street rose from the ground around him. It was the street where he lived. He imagined a statue of his mother into existence and filled his house with happy and legal memories. Soon, the road was filled with cars and traffic that moved in a predetermined fashion. This was his drive and determination to succeed. Inside his school, the books became filled with the knowledge he had gained. Different sections for both muggle and magical books. A secluded section of the sewers became his spot for storing questionable memories. The different houses and shops represented different ideas and concepts. The different class rooms were filled with books and pencils that wrote down all that happened around him.

With the basic structure of his mindscape plotted out, Ace came back to the real world and slept a dreamless sleep that night. The endeavor was magically and mentally exhausting. The next morning he visited the mindscape after breakfast and began to test out various theories. One such theory was that now he had eidetic memory due to his addition of memory class rooms. He went to find the nearest book that he could test if he was able to memorize it. It was a telephone book about 100 pages thick. He carefully looked at every page and was done in about fifteen minutes. I headed back to my room and looked at the new book that was sitting in one of the classrooms. It was accurate word for word, in fact it was almost a complete replica of the book. I smiled at this success and began to commit all the books I had to memory first. It would then proceed to understand them at a later date.

While my mindscape was strengthened everyday, I was going excellent in my muggle studies. Occulumecy was such a cheat and made me wonder why it was such a rare art but then I realized that despite me being an adult and having a near perfect mind without any trauma, this art took me nearly 3 years to set up a mindscape. Adults in the magical society would have many experiences stopping them from being at peace while kids didn't want to meditate at all. That being said, I needed to become more magically strong to further improve my defences as they would need to be magically powered and I didn't have the required amount of magic. I pulled out my syringe and loaded it with a healthy dose of potassium cyanide. The deadly chemical was not regulated yet and I was able to acquire quite a bit of it. Nearly 3 kgs of it in crystallized form. Thankfully, I had telekinesis which could lift upto 20 grams in weight. This allowed me to never touch the poison directly. I headed back to the diagon alley and waited for an unsuspecting victim. I lucked out immediately as I found a muggle couple walking about. I smiled and followed them home. A quick run in with a child playing soccer was all it took for them to be dosed and they died in mere minutes. I happily pranced about till I reached my orphanage and continued on with my day. The news about a murder quickly made it was through the orphanage and soon it was decided that the funerel would be held tomorrow. As I imagined, the police were left clueless as to who could have done it. I guessed that the wizard child would be at the school at the time and I was right. I was sitting around at the bench near their house when I saw McGonagall escort a grieving girl into the house. Getting an entry into the was a piece of cake. All it took was a black jacket and a hat along with some impeccable timing to follow in with some adults. I saw the girl holding the coffin and crying her eyes out and naturally I offered her some water. I took the glass away after she took a sip and went merrily to my house. After all, who would remember a 6 year old cute kid.

It took nearly 15 minutes but the huge rush of magic came and I was euphoric. It was like a breath of fresh air. I enjoyed the feeling for a while before diving into my mind. The first active defence I created was a sniper. He was placed on the highest building hidden behind an invisible wall. This was technically the second defence since, to reach the village you would have to walk through a huge expanse and tap about 50 stone in a certain sequence in a said amount of time before you could even get to the barrier hiding my real mindscape. The rocky field was filled with many floating memories which were the copies of the ones in the real mindscape. Anyone mindreading me would get here first. The barren field was also filled with chocolate smell that masked a subtle lack of air in the place. This should create a bit of confusion and soon they would be out anyway unless something had horribly gone wrong.

Unlike my assumption about hogwarts education, it was rather easy to get good results at it. To get perfect at it was a bit harder. The easiest spell was called wingardium Leviosa and it's usage ranged from lifting up feathers to lifting up an entire train compartment once. Of course, if a student was able to lift up a feather it was an acceptable result to pass the class as no one expected a student to be able to lift heavier objects due to the lack of magical strength to do so. The issue that lead student into failure was rather mundane, and frankly stupid. The amount of assignments and the historical nature of the tests. Why would anyone have to know about the history of a spell as useless as rectumsempra the laughing spell. It was understandable why there was a written test in higher subjects such as potions, herbology, ancient runes but the easier spells should not have such back stories as a curriculum.

After my daily magic practice, I would always go into my mind and sort out new memories and thoughts. After this came, muggle studies. Thank God for the public libraries because it would have been such a pain to read at school and explain why a six year old was reading books on quantum mechanics. Slimy was helpful because he could cast notice me not charms and bring me food whenever I was hungry. Slimy also informed me that my magic was now similar to those of my age which was bloody fantastic. I thought killing that girl would cause me to over shoot by a bit but it was actually fine.

One more year passed and I kept up my magic but refrained to kill anymore magicals to avoid any suspicions. This was the year I decided to pursue legimency and boy was that a pain. Books on legimency now were priced in upwards of 400galleons and there was only a single book on it the entire knockturn alley. Outside of shops, slimy had ask around other elves for help and luckily, a few traitorous elves came forward with a few books on occulumency and legimency. There was an elf which came forward with a few books on dark arts and rituals as well. I was grateful to the traitorous elves and gave them a few galleons to spend. I didn't actually take any of the books but had the elves hold them up so I can read through them once and that was it. Elves were thankful, that I didn't actually take the books because now they can truthfully say the they didn't give anyone their books. Loopholes for the win.

After a while, Slimy came to an arrangement with those elves. They would bring the books over to be read once and be awarded a sickle for each book they bring. Since, i was not biased against attaining knowledge, i memorized everything that they bought. This type of arrangement went on for nearly 4 years before the families a few of the elves ordered them not to meet any strangers or any other person outside the family. Since, they didn't consider elves to a person, Slimy continued the arrangement. The books went to Slimy's hand and into my brain with no chance of any magic to be passed over.

When I first read the book on dark arts, I immediately knew why mom didn't want me to dwell on dark arts. The spells while being stronger than light spells, demanded a particular mindset to be used. There was one spell which turn a human inside out, but the prerequisite was to torture and kill about 76 newborns and their families. The newborns had to magical and pure of decent. I would rather keep my sanity and blast the person into oblivion using a simple reducto. Why would you use any spell at the cost of your sanity, especially the horcrux. Half a soul and half a mind, no wonder voldemort was killed by Harry. A simple diffindo would have killed Harry as a baby or stomping on him would have been enough but the genius decided that Killing curse was the best option.

Aside from gathering information, I was also busy with practicing magic and I can proudly say that despite being an year away from going to hogwarts, I can do magic from all over the course, except from a few that can only be done at Hogwarts like flying or other minute stuff. These four years were lively in the muggle world as well. My use of telekinesis had reached over half kg and that was more than enough to drive a needle into someone's spine or toss a brick over a building or even push someone into a train or a truck. All of which I had tried and tested with good results. Well, I might have pushed it a bit by killing a soldier in the middle of a parade but it was a fun experience watching people rush about like a headless chicken.

As for legimency, I am proud to say that I am finally good at it. Although, i turned a few brain to mush while practicing, but all is for the greater good of course. Anyone with a mindscape could detect any sort of intrusion into their mind but not many could defend with a simple mental barrier. There were always flaws and cracks to be exploited and gain entry without a problem. Also, any attack on the barrier was like a punch to the brain of the receiver. It was like a sharp noise and pain followed by a high pitch noise. People asleep or knocked out would rarely have their shields active, and if they did it would not be in an active state. Eye contact wasn't necessary but it helped tremendously.

I also drank a few aging potions that I brewed my self and went ahead to open a bank account with had about 100 thousand dollars due to generous donation by richer people. I also used this money to but many guns and ammunition. I mean magic is good and all but a well placed grenade usually solves pretty much everything. I sighed and looked at my progress over the years and it brought a smile to my face, all while keeping the promise I made to my mom.

This year was the final one in the muggle for many years to come, and i decided to complete my studies till high school and leave permanently. While, I would return to have some fun and gather new scientific research but I would like to permanently stay in the magical world from now onwards. The best way to do this was to buy the apartment opposite to leaky cauldron. This served two purposes, one would be to stake out new targets and other would be to mask the use of magic. I bought the apartment but didn't actually move there because a ten year old living alone would raise too many alarms.
