Chapter 3: Red Eyes

*tap* *tap*

James, who was sleeping and closing his eyes, could hear a sound of someone tapping on the glass with his finger. He also felt all of his body getting colder and colder.

"Mirnha gani…" "Shoranda mio."

His ears caught words in a foreign language. The voices were like humans'.

Though it seems that he is sleeping, he could feel and gasp the surrounding. He could hear. His back seemed to be leaning on some cold ground, but it didn't feel that cold.

James' eyes started to shake as he was opening them slowly, faced by a white shiny roof. Though the lighting was quite weak, he could see everything.

His vision seemed to be blurry a bit before it got cleared.

He looked up and was dazed a bit. There was a little metallic circle on the roof, each was smaller than one millimetre, and were ten meters away from him.

What surprised him was that he could see them clearly, to the littlest detail.

James, who was feeling sick, started to remember what had happened. He closed his eyes slowly, his memory reached the part of where the satellite was attacked and when he fell, thinking that he is dead.

As he remembered that, he opened his eyes as wide as possible, bending his back up.

'It wasn't a dream, and I'm not dead!'

That was the first thought he got. Lifting both of his hands, he found that his skin seemed to be paler. His skin, which used to be slightly tan, was now completely white and pale.

Were the alien curious to do such type of experiment?

Or, could it be related to the red serum that got injected in him by accident.

Remembering the serum, James drew a horrified expression. recalling what happened to the test subject — they died or turned into some type of beast that adapts to the situation — he drew an ugly expression on his face, thinking that why is he still rational.

James started to shake, not because of fear, but his body was getting colder and colder and was wondering why he is alive and hasn't lost his life, or awareness yet.

*tap* *tap*

He heard some tapping sound on the wall, which woke him from his thoughts' trail.

Looking around, he saw that he was inside a small room, 9x9 meters square in the surface. On one wall, there was a window that displayed a dark background, with stars, rocket, and planets from different shapes.

Thinking a bit about it, that he was travelling in space, James knew, for sure, that they had taken him.

Doing the first thing a man in his situation would do, James reached his pants and lowered them, allowing his little brother to get out.

"Woah, what happened!"

It was too and seemed to be quite larger than usual as he held with his hand. Playing a bit with and rub it, James let a sigh in relief.

At least, he could feel the blood rushing.

"DORAHAA."

A loud scream hit James' ears and he couldn't help but to turn and hide his little brother back to its original place.

What he saw made him open his jaw a bit.

On the opposite side to the wall with the window, he could see two green aliens watching him. Both of them were huge.

However, unlike the time they attacked his people, they seemed to be wearing some type of clothes, which was close to the style that humans on earth wear, and not armours.

There was a male, 9-10 feet tall, looking at him with a vicious glare. He was wearing some kind of black pants, a black t-shirt. He was muscled, his arms thick as a tree, and his skin was between white and green.

His face was very human-like, his eyes were green, and his black hair fell down to his neck level.

From the kind of the gaze he was giving him, James could tell, feel, that there was some intent of killing directed toward him which source was the man.

Usually, you can't feel something like this; but James could felt a strong sixth sense telling him that.

Next to his shoulder, there was a woman, 8-9ft tall, toned, less muscular than the mall and looked to be slender in compare, still curvy with a bulge on her chest area. She had light green skin, long flowing wavy hair and black eyes.

Unlike the male, she was giving him some kind of smile, more like a smug smile as she was half closing her eyes.

James could immediately recognize her. She was the alien he knocked out with the pan. That smile scared him honestly.

James struggled to stand up, breathing heavily. He felt his body was so cold. With each exhale he makes, a cloud of white smoke would leave his body. He felt so light, despite the feeling of being lacking strength.

Since the walls were very clean, and his sight seemed to be very precise, James could see his reflection there, nine meters away.

He lifted his hands and touched his eye while looking there. His pupils are red. He was surprised. 'What happened to me. Why am I feeling sick? It must be that serum… damn it.'

The green human-like were staring at him. The woman was smiling, while the male is frowning.

James, with his, all of sudden, good sight, could have understood a bit of the feeling of the man glaring at him.

"Mira Sera condaia." The man said, glaring at James while placing his hand on the glass separating James from them.

The woman seemed just to tap on the glass. Once the male finished talking, she turned and glared at him.

"Ono kinoro, shoronga."

James could understand this like a new baby coming to life, from their facial expressing. The male, from his face, seemed to invite James to a fight.

The woman seemed to look down at him and telling him that he lost his chance.

Of course, this was only his guess.

The next thing happening was the woman yelling at him. He tried to attack her with a punch. All she did was to bend down and kicking him, sending him to the ground before stepping on his face and rubbing her foot above it, before landing another kick. The man turned his head and didn't make eye contact with her.

'Great, she is sadistic, I've to run,'

"Shoronga," she said.

'Shoronga,' James repeated in his head. This word, sounded like 'it's over.' His sixth sense told him.

James, suddenly, started to feel his body getting hotter and hotter. The cold smoke leaving his mouth became normal.

'I'm thirsty,' James lifted his hand and looked at how pale it is. 'I need water and food. My stomach is hurt.'

He was feeling anxiety, a bit of fear, yet he was calm. His hearing suddenly became stronger, and he could hear his own heartbeat. It was to thin to be noticeable.

James looked in front of him, to see the woman walking away, while the male was glaring at him with hatred.

What's wrong with him, all James did was to use a pan on.

The 9ft tall alien male stood displaying his full height. Pointing with his finger, like any human does, toward James.

"Sera migarana tokdoda."

After saying these words, the alien left and walked away.

James just hugged himself, feeling the cold vanishing gradually. "Sera, I guess it means to fight."

With his sixth sense, James had a rough understanding of the aliens' language. He just now, without understanding the words, could guess what that man said based on his facial expression and his sixth sense

Weird, that never happened before.

Time passed and James hugged himself.

Only know he remembered that he got injected accidentally by that serum. It seems that he, now, can see better, and his hearing is also stronger.

And surprisingly, he didn't die or lose his rationality.

His pupils turned red as well. Maybe it's a secondary effect. However, he was hungry and thirsty that it felt pain for hunger. But overall, his mind was calm and he could think well.

He walked toward that glass, which separated him from the rest of the ship and punched it. But nothing happened. Instead, he flew back a bit as some sparks appeared there. Great, he is trapped.

James started to think about his life on earth and if it is over.

'Where to escape.' That was his thought as he looked at the window, seeing planets, stars and moons on their real colour and sizes, different from what he used to see from earth. If he escaped, can he survive in this brutal space?

Most importantly, he was accidentally injected by a serum, which meant to evolve the creatures to climb the food chain, with an unknown random effect except that who get exposed to it loses his mind or die. But he didn't die, neither lost his mind — perhaps.

After a couple of hours, that man, who threatened James with a foreign language, came back with other 3 people, walking. They all looked to be men, muscled, with the tallest being 10ft tall and the shortest being 7ft5. All of them were wearing a gear that covered them from neck to toe, except for the one James saw earlier.

"Pretoria."

After hearing that man orders, the glass, which separated this room from James was lifted.

James, who was closing his eyes while hugging himself, opened his eyes, seeing the humanoids creatures walking toward him.
