Chapter 19: Chapter 21
Dear diary,
You know how family feasts always turn into something problematic and dramatic. Well, let me just say we were just about there. When Jessica went upstairs she must've told their mom something about me and Stellen because she started treating me weird and their mom loves me at least until Jessica turned around. Stellens' mom didn't know what was going on between us three but she was soon to find out.
Before dinner…
I and Jean were setting the table for dinner. Jessica came to help us out. She was acting totally different from when we first met. No cold shoulder, b**** my face, not even a smart remark. I was confused but Jean wasn't.
"Hey be careful around Jessica she's never that nice unless she's got something planned" whispers Jean.
We go back to setting the table. Mrs.Rose comes in with the plates of food.
"Wow this smells so good Mrs.Rose I missed your cooking so much," I said
She ignored me and didn't even take a peek. I looked at him and Stellen, confused, shrugged her shoulders, and went to sit down.
"Shi Yang sat next to me," Stellen said. Before I could go to sit with him Mrs.Rose put Jessica between me and Stellen.
"Why don't we have the two friends get some time together shall we." She looked hostile towards me but why we've always had a good relationship she was like a mother to me when I was younger.
I nodded my head and sat next to Jean.
For the next ten minutes, it was awkwardly quiet. "Here Stellen tries this," says Jessica. She picks up a fork full of food and puts it toward his mouth. He pushes her hand away.
"No thanks, I already know what it tastes like." He looks at me noticing that I am avoiding eye contact. He then looks at my plate. "Here eat this you barely eat you should try and eat more." He starts putting food on my plate.
"THAT'S ENOUGH!" Says Mrs.Rose. She looks at both of us. "You've been playing around with Jessica's feelings messing around with Shi Yang. Why would you do that?"
"Mom, what are you talking about?
"You cheated on Jessica with Shi Yang. She's a pretty girl but Jessica loves you."
Stellen face gets tense. He looks at Jessica's facial expression looking terrifying. He drops his fork and walks out of the dining room.
Jean looks at Jessica. "Mom that isn't what happened. Shi Yang and Stellen just got together a week ago.
Mrs.Rose looks at Jessica then at me and Jean. "What are you talking about, Jessica told me she was the reason they broke up."
"No mom Jessica cheated on Stellen with his best friend. She didn't want anyone to know when he found out so he promised to keep it a secret."
"No. Jessica is that true."
Jessica gets up. "I should probably go."
Jessica gets up and leaves.
"Why didn't you tell me?
"He didn't want to cause you trouble"
Mrs.Rose looks at me then grabs my hand. "I'm so sorry I doubted you."
"That's alright Mrs.Rose. I should probably go check on him though."
"Yes yes go ahead, dear."
I excuse myself and walk out. I walked upstairs and into his room but he wasn't there. I then proceed to look in the backyard where I find him sitting alone. I walk towards him and sit right next to him. I grab his hand and sit with him in silence.
"A part of me wishes that she would have chosen me over him. She was the first girl I ever loved and also the first to betray me." He looked at me with his eyes filled with shame and sorrow. "I was never planning on falling in love again until I met you."
Episode 22
Dear diary,
Yesterday was a disaster. Jessica left last night due to her lie. The family dinner was ruined, but somehow we managed to make the best of our night. It was as if I could wipe away all his pain and fear. We stayed out last night for a long time. It was peaceful, quiet, beautiful. It was everything and more because he was by my side.
I somehow ended up falling asleep on Stellen's shoulder. I don't even remember being tired or falling asleep. I can only remember the sweet innocent kiss bestowed upon my forehead. When I woke up this morning I was lying in Stellen bed wrapped up in his arms. I tried to sneakily crawl my way out but he wouldn't budge.
"Be good, lie down with me for a bit longer." I without hesitation played back down and waited for him to wake. I could have sworn I closed my eyes for a second, when I opened them back up Stellen was getting dressed and I was still in my pajamas.
Stellen looks at me and smiles. "Good afternoon."
"Good afternoon? Did I sleep for the whole morning? I was supposed to go to breakfast with Jean today."
He walks up to me and Pat's my head. "Don't worry about it. I already told her you'd be spending the day with me. I'm taking you to lunch so get dressed. Don't have me wait long or you'll be punished." He finished getting dressed and walked out.
My face turned red. His words repeated themselves in my head over and over again. part me wanted to remain in the bed waiting for my punishment. I get up anyway and start looking for clothes to wear. I pull out a light purple sundress with a ribbon on the side of it. I put the dress on then go downstairs.
I see Stellen waiting at the door looking at his watch. "It's about time I was beginning to think you'd take for-"
He hides his face. "Is it ugly I can change?"
"No, it looks fine, let's go." He puts his hand towards me gesturing for me to hold it. I grab his hand and we walk outside. He helps me into the car out of the car and even into the restaurant.
"You don't have to do that for me. I can do it myself."
"I'm doing this for my girl. It's what I should do."
"Ba-dump Ba-dump*
I can feel my heartbeat faster with every loving gesture he does for me.
When we get inside I can't help but admire the restaurant. "Whoa, it's so big, this place looks expensive, maybe we should go somewhere else."
He grabs my hand, "I am giving you the best because you deserve the best."
*Bathump Bathump*
Here it goes again. My heart aches for him. Why does he have to be this way? It makes me want him by my side more. He gives me high hopes, I just hope he won't let them go to waste.
He helps me to my seat. Not long after our waitress shows up. "Hello and welcome to Akikas Buffet. Here are the tour menus."
She hands us the menus. "I'll give you two some time to decide." She walks away and attends to her other customers. I open the menu to take a look. I was in shock. The food cost more than my outfit.
The waitress comes six minutes after giving us the menu. "Have you guys decided or do you need more time?"
Stellen looks at me and sees how stressed I am. "We would like to order. Can I you special?" She writes down his order then looks at me. "And you miss?"
"Oh I'll um- I'll get an um"
Stellen cuts me off "She'll be having the same."
"Ok, and what would you like to drink?"
Stellen looks at me then back at the waitress. "A wine for me and a regular NON-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE for her." She writes it down and leaves.
"Hey, I can drink."
"Are you sure last time you confessed to me?" I began to blush. I started pouting. He laughed "alright alright I'm sorry but no alcohol for you today."
*After dinner*
We were walking out of the restaurant when someone approached us out of nowhere. It was from Jessica. She was dressed in an all-black professional like the outfit. She looked like she had been crying. She stopped right in front of us and grabbed Stellen's arm.
"Stellen can we talk?"
