Chapter 19: Homicide Detective
Gion, Kyoto
Rui, Mitsutada, Q and Nagito are enjoying Kyoto's famous kaiseki cuise (Traditional Japanese Multi-Course Meal) at a restaurant named Hassun. The four are not only here for travel but to search for a person that Rui wanted to see. Nagito was especially requested to join to up their luck in finding him.
Ayatsuji Yukito. A soon to be known "Homicide Detective" after being lock up by Special Division. He seems to hide the fact that he's Gifted until he solved a murder case in a school causing the murdered to accidentally die with his Ability. He's currently 19 years old and still unmonitored due to not showing clues about his Ability.
After finishing their lunch, the four moved to strolling the streets in Gion hoping to find their target. Rui hopefully holds Nagito's hands as she feels that she could get some luck from him. Nagito didn't mind and strolls at a leisure phase while Mitsutada and Q was walking in front of them. After more than half an hour of walk, they find a bench to sit on as Nagito was searching his pockets for coins to buy a drink at the vending machine. A coin roll out the road causing Nagito to follow it. The coin was stopped by a hitting a shoe of the approaching man.
"Ah. I'm really lucky."
Nagito mutters as he confirmed that this man was the one they're searching for, Ayatsuji Yukito. Yukito was bewildered with Nagito. He's instinct tells him that this man knows him but he's also sure he never seen him.
"Rui wanted to see you so we go all the way to Kyoto from Yokohama. She's there."
Nagito points out the trio sitting on bench. Their attention was not on their side. Yukito's interest was picked so he decided to see.
"I'm back."
"Nagito, you..."
"This is the one were searching for, Ayatsuji Yukito-san. When I chased for my fallen coin, I accidentally encounter him. Ah. I'm really lucky."
Rui stands up and walk closely to Yukito and stares at him. Because of their height difference, she has to look up.
"Then, what do you need me for...little girl?"
Yukito concludes that this girl is 'Rui'. He's an excellent detective like Edogawa Ranpo but he's ability doesn't have a cheat for identifying things without clues. So, he's also not able to see behind Rui's Ability due to having no clues available.
"I want you to join us."
"Join you?"
"Um. You're idle, right? In few months, you'll show your Ability to attract Special Division to be lock up. Assigned to help them from tricky cases. Although voluntary, but it won't solve your boredom. I want to give you a different path."
"Hmm... interesting. Are you forcing me to change my idea."
Rui immediately shakes her head. It was his choice! She can, at best, try to give him a different option.
"Heh."
Yukito rubs Rui's head. He finds this little girl interesting. Many things about her seems blurred and fuzzy causing him to unable to see much clues. Her companions were also unusual.
"I'm an avid collector of ball-jointed dolls. If your organization can provide me an extra room for my dolls, I don't mind joining."
Yukito raises "Misaki" (a doll) from his arms. He's still as expressionless as usual but the aura around him seems to show a softening attitude.
"It's okay. Decim also collects dummies and has a personal room for it."
"Decim? Then, that guy have a good taste. After all, dolls are far more interesting than humans."
The two came to an agreement causing Ayatsuji Yukito future be changed.

"That new guy is interesting. Upon arrival, the first thing he checked was the room!"
"He seems to have the same hobbies as Decim-san. I didn't think I can see a second one."
Sanemi and Subaru discussed in the bar lounge while Mikoto was silent on the sofa, the newcomer was still upstairs. Decim was guiding Yukito together with Rui while Matsutada, Nagito and Q goes back to their room to rest. Few minutes later, Rui and the others go down.
"So you'll join, right?"
Sanemi confirms Yukito's intention as they're seated in the sofa.
"I will. But, what do the organization specifically do? I wasn't told."
"DOLLARS. From the word "dara dara" meaning doing nothing. We literally have no purpose but if any member wants to do anything, we will support it."
"Anything? That's sounds so free."
"Well, being invited in itself proves that you actually doesn't want to do much. I can already see that you're fit with DOLLARS."
"Heh... I can't refute that. Then, does joining require me to do something?"
"Mikoto-san. It's your turn."
Mikoto open his eyes and turn to Yukito.
"DOLLARS insignia. Where do you want to put it? It will be tattooed on your body."
"Then... here."
Yukito pointed at the left side of his neck. It was a fairly visible place but Yukito doesn't mind. Soon, a rushing heat was attached to him coming from Mikoto's hands a few millimeters away from his left. It didn't take long for Mikoto to retract his hands and the heat also subsided. Rui bring him a mirror so he could look at it.
It was an inverted crown with number ten on the inside.
"10? Am I the tenth member?"
"It's 11th. Rui who's the leader is number 00."
Rui nods as she turns and showed the tattoo at the back of her neck. Yukito didn't have any doubt about this because he can see many clues about how important the other members views Rui. Well, maybe having a little girl as a leader is not bad. At least not some old foxes and witch who thinks wildly all day.
People here are quite weird, he already seen clues about Sanemi having killed people and that "Q" child probably killed people with an ability run-away. But having Rui call him "newcomer", they show no doubt and fear. Human would instinctively want to clear up dangers around but they doesn't seem to mind it here... as long as he's one of them.
As Sanemi mention, Yukito isn't really an active guy. His only desire can be said to collecting dolls, reading books and to become a great detective. Unfortunately, detectives are not killers. His ability to "cause an accidental death" if the right murderer was identified make him fail his goal at the very start.
What's the difference with a corpse and human without goals? For Yukito, it was the same. So it doesn't matter where he is. Like Rui said, he was planning to get caught by the Special Division. But seeing DOLLARS members who's pretty much idle people without certain goal, he found out that being "idle" might be different from what he imagined.
Soon, another member called Izaya returned. He inexplicably gave him a phone and explaining CROWDS app that's affiliated to DOLLARS. See? Even ordinary people in Yokohama are unknowingly doing something extraordinary.
Yukito smiles but it was extremely short causing no one to notice. He return to his expressionless face and look at the ceiling. He can't be a detective so let's try to be idlers. As for his Ability, he's going to use it if he wants. Why do he need to be certain about many things? Heh.
DOLLARS... maybe it's not bad to be here.

Ayanaki_Rui
Ayanaki_Rui Ayatsuji Yukito! Main Character from Bungo Stray Dogs Gaiden. He's the same age as OdaSaku. Gaiden Story was basically case-solving event so not much is known about him. I want to give him a different place to stay so I pulled him DOLLARS~
In Gaiden, sometimes Special Division will give him cases that's already solved (basically answered papers, he just need to sentence the killers) just to kill the murderers accidentally because his Ability was really convinient.

Name: Ayatsuji Yukito
Ability: [Another] Ability to kill the murderer/s of a case by accident after identifiying him/her guilty. He need to know the details of the case like how did the murderer kill, how did the victim die when it happened etc. Before his guess is considered correct.
Appearance: He wears a standard detective outfit with the blazer coat hanging on his shoulders. He carries a smoking pipe and a doll named Misaki.
Personality: He's always expressionless and cold in appearance but actually talks normally if he's pleased with the opponent. He thinks dolls are much more interesting than human though.
Other: He has a very high IQ, rumored to be the same level (if not a little lower) than Edogawa Ranpo. After revealing his Ability, he was put in list of Extremely Dangerous Ability Users.
