Chapter 8: DOLLARS
"Decim-chan~ Can we have sushi in the bar? Tempura is also nice."
"Aren't we focusing on alcohol?"
"We can serve alcohol and food! Besides, Sane-chan's cooking is delicious."
"If that's your plan then, rejected. Sanemi-san's role make it easier to go out for things than any of us."
"Then, Kat-chan?"
"Katsuki-san's focus is taking care of Rui. It won't work letting him stay here from work."
"That's boring. Don't you think we need more people for the bar to operate?"
"If it's just alcohol then I can manage by myself. Besides, few only a few chairs are available, costumers won't go here just to eat."
"Nah, Decim-chan just doesn't get it. Having the bar to serve food means we can also eat here! Breakfast! Lunch! Dinner!"
"Don't trouble Decim anymore, Izaya."
Imai Subaru descends from the stairs as he stop Orihaya Izaya from bugging Decim. They're all avatar are equip a set attitude thus this kind of conversation among avatars seem to happen a lot around Izaya. Obviously all the same mind, yet they act like different people. Sigh...
DOLLARS is a bar set to operate normally but as their base it's naturally not for business profit. They'll serve for costumers during business hours but most of the time it will be occupied by them.
*Cling~cling~*
"Welcome, Rui-chin! Also Miko-chin and Kat-chan~"
"Welcome." x2
"Um. I'm back."
"Ah."
"I'm back. Che. What's with (Kat-chan)!"
Ayanaki Rui arrived together with Mikoto and Katsuki at DOLLARS for the first time. After finishing up the base, there's basically free rooms for members to stay if they want. Rui also didn't want to just stay in the house forever. It was good that there's a place to hang out.
Rui realize that since she starts to live with her avatars, the habit of talking to them inexplicably takes root. Her disgust and fear in communicating with "other people" still exists but it seems okay when it comes to her avatars. Is this good or bad change? Rui probably just consider these as a habit of "talking to herself".
"Hey! Don't lie down as soon as you arrive!"
"Noisy."
Suoh Mikoto walk in the lounge and lie directly on the sofa on the side. This lazy-fair attitude, of course, ticks Bakugo Katsuki off.
"Kat-chan! Kat-chan! We're just talking about serving food in the bar. Can you help us cook?"
"I've said, don't call me "Kat-chan"! Also, I'm already busy being nanny with these two. Don't think of adding yourself!"
Izaya still didn't give up the idea of serving food in the bar. The reason is simple, the one manipulating him also has the same idea. The argument among avatars can only be called "farce" because their all thinking of the same thing.
Rui is indeed calculating of the convenience if there's a cook positioned at the bar. Avatars need to eat like normal people. Except for Katsuki and Sanemi who can cook for themselves, everyone basically solve their meals outside. Even if Sanemi moved in, he's not a character that will settle being in charge of cooking. So she plan on creating an avatar to can serve as a cook.
*Cling~cling~*
"I'm back~" "I'm back."
"Welcome. Sanemi, Nagito." x4 "Welcome~ Sane-chan, Nagi-chin~"
"Ah, it kind a gives of feeling like "home". Although someone like me probably isn't worth it..."
"Don't say that kind of words. Also, why are you two together?"
Subaru stops Nagito from his usual irritating self-worth rhetoric. He turn the attention towards the unusual company.
"I found this bastard had his shoes stuck on a damage manhole blocking the road!"
"Ah. I was really troubled. I couldn't get out no matter what."
Nagito's bad and good luck physique is something out of him control. Often times, he encounters unlucky things. In theory, getting bad luck on this little things accumulates for better good luck that he can get in return.
"Speaking of which, I'm dropping out of school, okay? I don't think there a need for someone like me to even attend. Also, I didn't see anyone with talent that would lead me to hope."
"Dropping out just like that is irresponsible, the school semester just started. You definitely didn't like to continue because of the later reason."
Subaru was a little irritated. In general, DOLLARS members are half educated half not. Rui learns in the orphanage and continue homeschooling after moving out. Katsuki also changed to homeschool this semester. Subaru and Mikoto attends classes while Izaya directly faked his school documents (the kind that can be trace as forged, Izaya's actually a little proud that he didn't study). Decim who is already set as an adult didn't need to go anymore while Sanemi's identity from someone out of slum wasn't suitable to get involve in this. Now, they even have Nagito who will drop out.
Mikoto prop himself up from the sofa and sits at the counter staring at the wine shelves. Decim understood that Mikoto wants to drink but considering his age, he continue wiping the glasses with the sold white cloth putting the stance of ignorance.
"Decim, just a glass."
"It won't happen. All of you are underage."
Mikoto give a dissatisfied glace but didn't argue. Rui clings on his clothes turning his attention away from Decim. He help Rui sit on chair. DOLLARS has 7 chair in the counter, 1 long rectangular table with sofa seats on each the sides. Now, all 7 chairs in the counter was occupied with Decim standing on the opposite side.
Rui whisper something to Mikoto and gestured the others right after. She was requesting for Mikoto to make a DOLLARS member insignia as a mark on every organization members. Mikoto didn't reject and stretch his hand close to Rui's nape, a red aura from the Sword of Damocles form an inverted crown sigil with number 00 inside. After a few minutes of burning pain, a red tattoo of DOLLARS insignia was carved of her nape.
Other DOLLARS members also followed pointing at the location the wanted to have the tattoo. Sanemi got the insignia 01 on his back, Izaya with 02 on his left chest, Subaru got 03 on his right ankle, 05 on Katsuki's right arm, Nagito with 06 on his lower left side of abdomen and Decim got 07 on his tongue. Lastly, Mikoto put the 04 insignia on the back of his right hand.
DOLLARS insignia numbers where base on the order of birth with Rui, the creator of avatars, at 00.

Ayanaki_Rui The HOMURA's insignia was cool so I also plan to have tattoos here. Unfortunately, DOLLARS sign of doubled circle with dotted "dollars" letters inside were a little to straightforward. I finally decided on inverted crown with numbers (Phantom Troupe reference).
