Chapter 14: The Beast

The scratching of claw on metal pierced the halls of this empty ship, echoing down the narrow corridors. I stood, ready for whatever may come round the corner of that hallway. I needed to know just how capable this thing was.

The heavy footsteps beat the ground like drums, growing ever louder and ever more present in the canteen. I began shifting slightly. Terror ran through my body like a plague through Requiem as I waited for what could very well be my death.

Seconds dragged on like hours, and that small amount of time passing each second put years onto my soul. I felt as if in three seconds I had grown old and wise. Another step was taken. cold sweat ran down my cheek, a slight thought occurring that water may have an adverse effect on my mechanical body.
