I stayed with him for some time until he was finally awake.

"Lia?" he called out. His voice turned hoarse. 

"Hi," I said. I touched his forehead to check. 

"Why are you here?" he asked, letting out a cough. 

"I came to see if you're alright, but you had a fever." I told him. 

"Good thing I still had the key you gave me, otherwise what will happen to you."

He gave a small smile. "Lia…" he called again, "I'm sorry about yesterday."

I wasn't bothered by it and told him to get some rest.

I pulled his blanket for him to be comfortable then went down to take some clothes which I'd pack in the car in cases like this and changed out of my work clothes to something more comfy.
