Chapter 37: Thirty Seven

Mrs. Parker wasn't sure of her daughter's gloomy behavior. She knew something was not right but she wanted to wait for her to open up. "You should take some rest dear." She caressed her back gently. "Where is Henry?" Serena was looking around for her brother. "He hasn't returned from work yet. Get some sleep he'll be back by 7 pm." She dipped her head and stepped towards her room. She was very worried. Kyle wasn't there with her which made her even more skeptical. "Kyle would never let her travel by taxi," she wondered. She shrugged away her thoughts and went into the kitchen to prepare dinner.
