As daring as that statement was, Zain knew better than to tamper with that gun and kill Jade, else his life won't be spared either.

Whether or not she shot at him, wasn't entirely the problem but the fact that he could rid this world of the Frost blood for good and have his son living and kicking, then that was his cup of tea.

"Zain," he heard a sharp growl ring out from behind him, pulling him back to reality as a snarl followed.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Easy there now, dragon boy or I'll shoot," Zain cautioned.

"Don't you dare!" Several voices all rallied on the second he scolded Xander as their killing intent shone through their eyes.

"Oh wow, you have got yourself quite the knight, haven't you, Jade?"

For the most part of things, he knew even before that bullet made its mark, that his life might have been long gone, yet Zain ignored all the danger signs and took steps closer to Jade.
