Chapter 38: 38. “I hope it’s not temporary.”

It was noon when I woke up. My head hurts and I feel like I've slept for a long time. I rose from the bed and looked around but no one was there. No signs of Shawn either. To my surprise, the door opens and Mrs. Lewis peeked "There you are. I'm glad you're awake." 

I smiled "I'm sorry for making yet another scene." I told her. 

She shook her head "Stop it." She entered and sat on the bed beside me "I'd faint the same way if it happens to me. How are you?" she asked.

I exhaled deeply and looked down "Ashamed and worried." 

"Ashamed and worried about what, exactly?"

"Well, ashamed that what people told about me is true, and worried that I won't have a job now. I shouldn't have done this." 

"And deprived yourself and Shawn the happiness to be with each other?"
