Chapter 18: Water 7

The crew was running to the Merry and Robin was being dragged by Zeus. Luffy said "Why are we running?" Zeus said "That Ice-man isn't all fun and games. He's also a real pain in the-" a voice cut him off "The what?"

Zeus stopped and pulled Robin behind him as he said sweetly "Neck for those damn pirates! Hahah look I caught them all! Uncle Kuzan wouldn't take them from me would you?" he silently shifted to in front of the crew with his eyes turned into crescents.

Aokiji was amused and said "Do you know why I'm here?" Zeus rubbed his hands together and said shamelessly "To see your favorite nephew?" Aokiji shook his head and said "I'm here for you. Fleet admiral doesn't know where you are. Smoker told me you were probably chasing the Straw Hats."

Zeus chuckled angrily and said while smiling "He did, did he? I guess I should 'Thank' him then." Aokiji yawned and said "So what are you doing." Zeus said flippantly "I'm still on vacation."

Aokiji shook his head and said "You were supposed to report in to get your medal of honor." Zeus felt his eye twitch and Luffy said "Medal of honor?" Zeus felt helpless and Aokiji said "For saving Alabasta from Crocodile."

The crew had funny looks and Zeus said helplessly "I didn't do anything, plus Smokey already told the 5 idiots to go fuck themselves. I'm not going back to get a medal I don't deserve."

Aokiji froze half of himself and said "Unfortunately you don't have a choice. Garp wants you back." Zeus paled and started shivering, so did Luffy before looking at Aokiji in terror, more afraid of Garp than himself.

Aokiji was amused and said "That's right." he took out a snail and a voice came over "Yes?" Aokiji said "I found him." Sengoku's voice came over the snail "Kurama you bastard! What are you doing! I called you 12 times!"

Zeus said seriously "I lost my snail but I just found it. Turns out it was hiding in my jacket pocket, who would've thought?" Sengoku was silent and Aokiji melted before facepalming, in the whole marine corps, maybe only Zeus talks to Sengoku like that.

Sengoku snapped "You little bastard when you get back here, I'm gonna-" Zeus chuckled and grabbed the snail from Aokiji before saying "Gramps relax! This isn't good for your blood pressure! You have black hair now, you want white hair that badly? I can tell you, it only looks good on me!"

Aokiji made a 'pfft' sound and the crew were stunned, Sengoku took a deep breath over the snail and said "I'm really going to hurt you." Zeus chuckled and said "Get in line, old man. Shishishishi"

Sengoku took another breath and said "Where are the Straw Hats?" Zeus shrugged and said "Right behind me. Escaping as we speak, what a world eh?" the crew was confused and Aokiji was stunned before smiling wryly as he watched the crew slowly back away with smiles.

Sengoku said "Go get them! What are you doing?!" Zeus threw his arm around Aokji's shoulder and said "Well I'm talking to you, I can't just hung up? You know cherish the young and respect the elderly." Sengoku was fuming and Aokiji chuckled, Zeus grinned and said seriously "Gramps. I really think you should get a pet. Really the greatest stress relievers, maybe a goat or something."

Aokiji looked at Zeus and said "A goat?" Zeus shrugged and said "Everybody get's dogs and cats, why not be original you know?" Aokiji nodded along and Sengoku said "Yeah, maybe I will. I was thinking about getting a goat one day.. Huh?! You little bastard! What are you changing the subject for! Go after the Straw Hats!"

Zeus sighed and said "Fine, Fine, I'll go get them, but they're sailing away as we speak." Sengoku sighed and said "Go." Zeus nodded and said to Aokiji "Don't worry I got this. Take a vacation, you look like you need it. The bags under your eyes get bigger and bigger every time I see you."

Aokiji was helpless and said "It's hard work being an admiral. How about we switch?" Zeus shook his head like a rattle drum "Are you kidding?! I wouldn't take that job even if you killed me! Too much responsibility, plus I wouldn't be able to fuck around anymore."

Sengoku coughed and Aokiji and Zeus immediately became honest. Aokiji said "Did I say switch? I meant work towards!" Zeus nodded and said "Did I say fuck around? I meant work extremely hard to become a respected admiral!"

Sengoku sighed and said "Just go, I don't care anymore." Zeus chuckled and patted Aokiji's back while saying "See ya Gramps, Uncle. I'm off! Tell Grampa that he smells for me! Shishishishishishi" before jumping on his cloud and flying away extremely fast.

Sengoku chuckled darkly and said "What do you think will be his expression when Garp finds him?" Aokiji sucked in a cold breath and said "Garp's going after him? Oh boy, I'd pay to see it!" Sengoku laughed and hung up after saying "I heard you laughing at that brat's joke before. Get back to HQ, I have a.. Special mission for you."

Aokiji paled and cursed Zeus as he put the snail back in his jacket, before getting on his bike and leaving the island... in the opposite direction of marineford..

Zeus flew through the air and landed on the deck of the Merry before letting out a breath. Identity almost compromised, close call, good thing he was an expert at distraction!

The crew looked at Zeus and said "Who was that?" Zeus looked at Robin and said "It was Aokiji, he's an admiral. Debatably, one of the most power people on the sea." and then.. There was no then, Zeus took a seat on the deck chair and lit a cigarette as if he was talking about something a little troublesome.

The crew felt their eyes twitch and Nami said "Your grandfather is the fleet admiral?" Zeus opened one eye and said "Something like that. Not my real grandfather though." Nami was curious and said "Who is?" Zeus chuckled and changed the subject "From here on out, the enemies are going to get stronger and stronger. If you all can't keep up, then you'll just be bones at the bottom of the sea."

Luffy got serious and crossed his arms while sitting on the head of the Merry, the rest got srious too and forgot about Nami's question, going to train instead. Well, everyone except for Robin, who came and sat next to Zeus.

Zeus took a drag from his cigarette while looking at Robin with one eye open, she was looking at him and they stared at each other for a while before Robin broke eye contact and said "You know?" Zeus exhaled a mouthful of smoke and said "Yep."

She closed her eyes and said "You don't care?" Zeus shrugged and said "Not really. You really have to be retarded to believe that a 7 year old girl can destroy 6 marine battleships. Especially with your powers, you can't even do that now." he shook his head, Robin looked at Zeus and said "How much to you know?"

Zeus waved and said "More than you could imagine." Robin said "What's that supposed to mean?" Zeus leaned in a little and said "I even know why you wear a cowboy hat, you think I wouldn't know other things too?" Robin trembled and said anxiously "How do you know about that!?"

Zeus flicked her forehead lightly and said "Calm down, you don't look good when you're shaking in fear." he chuckled and pinched her nose before saying "Not even the other marines know what really happened to him. I found out by looking at the Fleet Commander's files when I was a kid. As well as a lot more information."

Robin calmed down and was sad, Zeus patted her head and said "You're alive, that's all that matters. Its what he wanted anyway. I might not have known him but from what the other marines say, he was a really good guy and a great marine."

Robin smiled slightly and said sarcastically "I thought you didn't like the marines." Zeus smiled and said "I never said that, I said I don't like the justice dogs. There's a difference between a good marine and a great one."

Robin tilted her head and said "Oh?" Zeus smiled and said "A good marine is the ones you see everyday, rambling on about justice no matter the circumstance, whether it's catching slaves, killing civilians to catch a pirate, or even worse."

Robin said "And a great marine?" Zeus continued "A great marine is the ones, you don't see. The ones who follow their own morals, saving people, making sure civilians are safe, punishing other marines, and choosing to disregard their duties if they see an injustice happen."

Robin was surprised and shook her head "I've never seen anyone like that." Zeus smiled slightly and said "Of course not. That's not in line with the 'Justice' code, let me tell you, sometimes they have seminars for marines under the rank of rear-admiral. Oh boy, more like brainwashing! Truly, I can't stand it." he made a throwing up expression and Robin giggled.

Zeus smiled and flicked his cigarette into the water and cracked his neck before saying "You don't want to get stronger?" Robin smiled slightly and said "I don't have a book like everyone else." Zeus rubbed his mask where his chin was and said "Yeah those books are pretty handy, I don't know where they got them either..."

Robin smiled and a light flashed in her eyes for a brief moment, Zeus grinned "Maybe when you're free. I can find one for you. For now though..." He grabbed Robin and flashed to the crow's nest, there was no one inside.

Robin looked around and said "Oh! A little soon no?" Zeus almost spit out a mouthful of blood "Do I look like a savage to you?" Robin smiled and Zeus waved his hands "Don't answer that." he called his cloud and took out a blind fold and a foam staff.

Robin's expression changed slightly "I really don't-" Zeus smashed his head into the railing and said "Please! Spare me! I'm not like that!" He wrapped the blindfold on Robin's head and said "Don't use your powers, I'd cuff you, but then I might not be able to control myself! Hahah, Just a joke, please don't jump off the crow's nest."

Robin calmed down and Zeus coughed before continuing "I want you to feel my movements, this is called observation Haki. Basically, I'm going to hit you with a stick and you're going to try and dodge it without seeing or hearing. The reason why it's foam is so that it doesn't hurt you, if you were Luffy, I would be hitting you with an iron rod. Anyway let's begin!"

Zeus waved the foam stick and hit Robin in the head, she giggled and said "Very strange." Zeus blushed and said "Focus, or I really will tie you up." Robin became honest and Zeus waved the Foan stick at her again, but this time used a little bit of Haki to make the foam a little harder. This went on for days, until the Merry encountered something strange.

Usopp pointed off the Merry and said "Hey! That frog is doing the front crawl!" Luffy popped his head out and said "A frog doing the front crawl!?" Chopper nodded and said "It's doing the front crawl!"

Zeus looked over and said "I can't believe its doing the front crawl..." Luffy pointed and snapped "After that front crawling frog!" the Merry turned and chased after the frog. Zeus chuckled to himself and soon enough a railroad station came into view.

A little girl ran out and said "Granny, Granny! Pirates!" an older lady stumbled out of the rail station and said "Pirates!? Oh no!" she took out a snail and a voice came over "Marines, what's your emergency?"

The woman looked at the snail and said "I don't have an emergency, who is this? Why did you call? If you call again, I'm calling the marines!" before hanging up. Zeus felt his mouth twitch and Robin removed her blindfold. Zeus took the blindfold and the foam stick and threw them into the cloud as he said "Won't be needing these any time soon."

Luffy waved and said "Hey! Granny! What's with that frog!?" the woman looked at the frog and hiccupped "That's Yokozuna, he's always challenging the trains." the crew was confused "Trains?" suddenly a train whistle sounded and a train flew by, smashing Yokozuna and sending him flying.

Luffy said "Oh no! The frog is dead!" The woman waved her hand and said "That can't kill him anymore!" Zeus chuckled, anymore? Nami said "Who are you?" the woman said "I'm Kokoro and this is Chimney."

Chimney held up a rabbit and said "This is my cat Gonbe!" Zeus rubbed his mask and said "What kind of cat is it?" the crew looked at him and Chimney said "A long-eared hopper cat." Zeus nodded understandingly and the crew almost fell down.

Luffy ignored them and said "Granny do you know anywhere we can get a shipwright?" Kokoro nodded and hiccupped "If you follow the rails... Uhhh.. That way! You'll get to Water 7, it's know for having the best shipwrights in the world!"

The crew nodded and Kokoro said "Hold on" she went inside and came back out with a letter and added "Find Iceburg and give him this. He should be able to help you." the crew thanked her and waved goodbye before sailing in the direction Kokoro pointed.

A while later

They arrived at Water 7 and saw a man on the docks. The man looked up and said "Pirates?" Luffy nodded and the man pointed to the right and said "There's a port for pirates over there!" Luffy waved at the man and said "Thanks!" and they sailed to the right, finding another man who told them that there was an empty ship yard they could anchor at.

Finally after many twists and turns they anchored on the abandoned shipyard.

Zeus stretched his limbs and left the crew, they were used to it by now and didn't pay attention it him.

He flashed through the city and walked into the gold exchange building. He walked to the counter and knocked on the table before saying "Hello gorgeous, mind getting me a private room?" the secretary blushed and nodded before bringing him to a huge private room.

Zeus walked in and saw an old man at a desk, he sat down in a chair and called his clouds inside. The old man raised a brow and Zeus smiled "I have quite a bit." he lit a cigarette and gold started piling up in the room from the clouds, over time the old man's eyes widened.

After a while

The gold filled the room and Zeus said "That's about it. Give me a quote." as he exhaled a mouthful of smoke and flashed his marine jacket. The old man gulped and counted the gold before saying "1.5 Billion" Zeus laughed and vaporized the cigarette in mid-air, making a show of strength before saying "You sure? I think you're trying to low-ball me." The old man started to sweat and Zeus chuckled menacingly.

Zeus walked out of the gold exchange with a big smile on his face. He managed to get 2.5 Billion from the old man, he practically robbed them. The gold was only about 2 Billion worth but he got an extra 500 million in apology money. He sent his cloud back up before walking in the streets of Water 7. It was truly a beautiful town, the canals reminded him of a county in his last life.

He sighed leisurely and saw Robin walking into an alley, he smiled mysteriously and disapeared from where he stood.

He reappeared in front of a masked man and said "Hmm, your mask is pretty shit. Why did you buy a woman mask?" the masked man was spooked, this guy just appeared out of nowhere! He calmed himself down and said "Who are you?" Zeus waved and said "Just a marine captain, I've been hunting down the Straw Hats." he pointed his thumb over his shoulder at Robin and said "You're stealing my prey."

The masked man said "We have orders from the Go-" Zeus cut him off and said "I don't care what those 5 bald old men said. I want an explanation. You and your CP9 friends are always fucking around, tell me the truth. Was it that retard of a captain you have?"

The masked man sighed and nodded before saying "He has Buster Call authorization." Robin trembled and Zeus looked indifferent, the masked man added "If Nico Robin comes with us, we can let the rest of the Straw Hats go. That's the deal. Though now that you're here.."

Zeus waved and said "Forget about me. If that's your deal, then that's your deal. That idiot wouldn't dare launch a Buster Call on Water 7..." he looked at the masked man before smiling wryly "He definitely would, wouldn't he.." the masked man nodded and Zeus sighed before ignoring him and looking at Robin.

Robin smiled slightly towards Zeus and said "I'll take the deal. You must promise not to hurt or hunt the Straw Hats!" The masked man nodded and said "Come with me. You have our word." he looked at Zeus and said "What are you going to do?" Zeus waved and said "I'm going to see your team mates. If that idiot launches a Buster Call on Water 7, he's not going to be the only one who gets his head chopped off." the masked man nodded and left.

Zeus passed Robin and whispered "Don't worry. If they hurt you, I will make them pay. Wait for rescue." before walking away, Robin watched him go and hoped that they wouldn't come to rescue her. She didn't want them to die, the Buster Call plus CP9 was impossible for the crew to withstand. Well that's what she thought anyway.

Zeus didn't care what her thoughts were, he definitely wasn't going to let her die. Not because he was interested in her romantically but because she was a part of the crew! Regardless of his identity at the moment he was still Luffy's brother. With that thought he flashed away.
