"Where do you think that incident happened?" said Ted Bennett. "The meeting at the inn?"

"I think it was in one of the towns along one of the Finger Lakes, maybe Cayuga Lake, maybe the west side. He told me the town, but it didn't register. I don't get to that part of the state too much. You might go into the records and look for the disappearances of young women in the area. If any of this is true, that young woman in the story was real and natural as far as the people she worked with were concerned. Someone must have reported her simply disappearing. I do know that it was in the spring, and it would have been in the early-1990s."
