CREED'S POV:
Somewhere in the distance I can hear my sister crying. Even though I can hear her, I don't know where the sound is coming from.
No matter how much I want to, I can't get my eyes to open. She's speaking but the words sound muffled. She's apologising, I think. She seems to think she's f*cked up somehow.
"Creed," her voice lacks its usual cheerfulness, "I need you to wake up."
I think I feel her hand in mine, but I can't be sure because my skin, much like my eyes, doesn't feel like it is my own. I try to squeeze her hand to comfort her, but I have no way of knowing if I'm successful.
"I was just trying to help but I've made everything worse. I love them."
I have no idea what she's talking about. Who does she love?
"I thought mum was bonkers asking me to pretend to be you..."
Hang on, rewind a bit, I try to tell her, but my mouth doesn't move.
