When he opened the door to the house he saw the light in the kitchen and found Carmella there drinking coffee. The IM was blank.

"Carmella…"

"No. Stand over there," she said. He stopped, standing still at the entrance of the kitchen. He looked at her curiously. "I want to ask you some questions and don't you dare lie to me."

"I would never lie to you."

"But you didn't tell me the truth. You didn't tell me that you were mated. You led me to believe that you were single."

"I was single. I never considered myself mated until I was with you. Namu was a part of my parents' plans. It's tradition. I don't blame them. I don't blame anyone. I just never wanted to form a family unit with her."

"But you had sex with her! You consummated that relationship!"
