Chapter 56: Chapter 56: Johnny on the Sport

Bilal opened the front door before he realized that something was amiss.

Still holding hands with Carmella, he gave her a curious look.

"Where are the wolves?"

Carmella rubbed a tired hand through her hair. "Girl is due to have another litter and so she and Wolf went to build a den. That was about a month ago. And Little Wolf is still here but he doesn't seem to know what to do with himself. I think he misses you Bilal. He keeps mostly to himself these days, but he doesn't go far from the farm. If I need him, I can call and he's Johnny on the spot."

Bilal had never heard that particular expression, but he decided that he understood what she meant. The ship and him being taken away had caused the little wolf some trauma. He would be sure to make contact as soon as possible to help him understand that all was right.

He looked around, the sensors of his tongue moved out of his mouth to scent the air.
