91: Unintentional

Her father was injured because of her, and she didn't know how to react to it. 

Louis' feet involuntarily stepped forward. A small part of her wanted to help him, but stopped. What if her father is acting weak to make her put her guard down? What if he's doing this to gain her sympathy and catch her by surprise? She immediately questioned herself and her decisions. 

Is he fooling her? Is he truly pretending in front of her right now?

Louis' chest constricted in pain as an uncomfortable feeling swallowed her heart.

"Like I said," Louis stood tall in front of her father, trying to appear strong as she spoke, "You won't win this…"

In the end, she gave in to her doubts. Louis stood her ground as she looked down on her father, convincing herself to appear unaffected as her insides screamed at her to do the opposite. 

She swallowed hard as she suppressed those feelings deep within her chest.
