63: I Promise

When the guard finally left, Lara breathed a sigh of relief.

"Are you okay?" she said when Noah emerged from the water.

A chuckled came out of his lips, amused by what just happened. This is the first time someone attempted to drown him. Well, technically, she wasn't trying to drown him, but still…

"Why are you laughing?"

Noah's head shook. "Nothing," he said, and drew Lara into his embrace, causing her to gasp in surprise. "Thank you," he said, his breath brushing her skin.

She shivered. Oh, gods… "F-For what?"

"For not allowing me to drown." He teased, and that woke her up a little.

"You would've been found without my help."

"Yes, I would've." He answered, gazing at her face. "But I'm not scared of death." He said, seriously meaning his words. And Lara blinked, looking up.

"Then what are you afraid of?"
