Chapter 20: 3 September 2020
Today was super busy, such stark contrast compared to yesterday. But, I got to work with Ash again. I also had a long chat with him. He said he misses his girlfriend while he was jealous of her freedom. Haiss.
Mee keeps forgetting to give cutleries to the guests. I wonder how are they going to eat a hot bowl of Laksa using their bare hands. This problem got me into trouble, which I hate. Leo was quite alright with me today, despite that problem.
Halfway through dinner, when I was going to serve food, Leo scared me by pulling me aside. She was asking for my help. Apparently, some spoiled brats refused to abide by the government's laws and threatened to write in a complaint about Leo.
The rule was that a restaurant cannot allow two groups to mingle with each other and cannot be placed side by side. They were two groups of five, making the whole gang a group of ten. A breach of the law. A hazard for all.
Leo was panicking as she tried to explain the situation to the Managers' Group Chat. But she had poor English. We took quite a while to deal with the situation and the chef wanted to scold me for not taking care of the station. But Leo stepped in, not only to help but to retaliate to the chef.
She boldly told off the chef, saying that she was the one who pulled me away from the pass. He instantly shut up. I ended my shift with the same talk with Leo, about her ex-girlfriend. Sometimes, age doesn't matter. It's the experience that matters.
