Chapter 60: Star singer (2)

Not bothering that Mu Feng was playing some mobile games instead of serving her, Wu Jinyan looked through the videos she randomly captured when she was still living in the United States. She had many nature videos that she could use for her song 'No Love'. However, the song's theme and the lyrics didn't match with any of the videos she had with her.

As mentioned by Gu Zihao, she had to shoot something with real people to depict the true depth of the song.

She was put in a tough spot and sat in a daze thinking on what to do when Gu Zihao rushed into the room, like a tornado.

"What's wrong? Did something happen?" Wu Jinyan asked when she saw the man's infuriated look.

Mu Feng continued to play his games while paying attention to what Gu Zihao would say.

"My brother found another woman. He signed an artist under Star Entertainment behind my back" Gu Zihao's fury was something Wu Jinyan had yet to see and she finally understood how terrifying it looks.

She admitted what her husband did was really out of line for Gu Zihao to get angered.

However, she wouldn't go to any conclusions without knowing the artist's identity. It could be that he really found someone who seemed promising to his eyes.

No businessman would lose up on money when they found something profiting.

In contrast to Wu Jinyan's calmness, Mu Feng was angered. He immediately stopped playing his games. 'What?! Did Gu Zichen lose his mind?'

"Who's the artist? It's not Li Xiaoyi, right?" Hearing Wu Jinyan's worried voice, Gu Zihao finally calmed down. He was only informed by his assistant that some package was sent from Gu corporation to Star Entertainment which was a contract between the company and a female artist. In addition, there was a hand written letter from Gu Zichen asking everyone from Star Entertainment to take good care of that artist.

"I don't know. I'll ask my assistant to send the contract here" Gu Zihao picked his mobile when Mu Feng stopped him.

"No. Instead tell him to contact the artist and ask her to come to the company. We'll settle this face to face"

Wu Jinyan raised her eyebrows. She didn't want to encourage Mu Feng's antics. But then again, she was very curious to see the woman who caught her husband's attention.

Gu Zihao was doubtful but didn't say anything as Wu Jinyan gave her consent. He simply did as asked.

Wu Jinyan immediately got dressed and followed behind Gu Zihao and Mu Feng to the garage. On her way, she met her mother in law, Shen Xiuzhen in the drawing room who was watching some comedy show on TV.

"Hey, dear. Are you going somewhere? It's almost lunch time. Eat something before you go" Shen Xiuzhen stood up from the sofa when she saw her daughter in law coming down the stairs, all dressed up like a cute doll.

Ten days ago, she had seen the news articles about Gu Zichen and Li Xiaoyi and also the interview given by Gu Zichen to clear the rumours. She understood Wu Jinyan must have been very upset and wanted to relax somewhere quite for her to disappear from Gu Zichen's sight.

However, she didn't expect her daughter in law to be brought to the Gu family house by her second son, Gu Zihao and her nephew, Mu Feng.

All this while, Shen Xiuzhen and Gu Cheng really doted on their eldest daughter in law. They wanted to teach their eldest son, Gu Zichen a good lesson and didn't even bother informing him that his wife was safe and sound, living in the family house.

Who asked that idiot to hurt their precious daughter in law?

Anyway, it was his fault for not checking up on his parents or else he would have long found out where his wife was staying.

"Don't bother, Mom. We'll get back in an hour" Gu Zihao who was almost at the end of the staircase said nonchalantly.

"Yes, Aunt. How can we miss your delicious cooking?" Mu Feng ran upto Shen Xiuzhen and hugged her arm, acting like a clingy child.

"So, you are saying my sister's cooking is not good? Also when will you go back to your house?" Shen Xiuzhen asked. She couldn't tolerate anyone looking down on her younger sister.

"I never said my mom's cooking is bad. And why are you always trying to chase me? Mu Feng is hurt" Mu Feng stomped his food and sulked like a baby, robbed of his milk.

"Enough of your drama. Now, hurry where you are going. Take care of yourself" Shen Xiuzhen couldn't keep playing with this cheeky monkey, Mu Feng and pushed him towards the house entrance.

"Mother, I'll get back soon. Don't wait for me if it gets late amd have your lunch first" Wu Jinyan said in her sweet voice before she walked out of the house.

Although she was angry with Gu Zichen, she wanted to meet up with her in laws. So, she came to Gu family house instead of running away from the country.

After receiving endless support and love from her in laws, she decided to give Gu Zichen another chance to prove his sincerity towards her.

However, it looks like Gu Zichen had already moved on from her, seeing that he was in contact with another woman.

Shaking her head to wipe out all negative thoughts, Wu Jinyan took a deep breath. She wouldn't assume anything until unless she saw the artist.

In less than ten minutes, the car was parked in the underground parking lot of the Star Entertainment building. Gu Zihao and Mu Feng walked ahead leisurely and entered the private elevator that takes them directly to the top floor.

Not wanting to raise unnecessary suspicions, Wu Jinyan got out of the car a block away from the company building.

She then walked into the building and went to meet with her manager, Lin Ran instead of directly entering Gu Zihao's office.

But as soon as she entered the building, many eyes fell on her, most of them filled with pity and some with malice.
