Chapter 263: Meeting with the Mayor
A/N: After thinking about it for sometime, I have decided to post 2 chapters a day with 1500 words each from Tomorrow.
I have written around quite some advanced chapters and I would not be editing those to 1500 words per chapter. So, for month the chapters may be around 1000 words each. After that it would be 1500 words per chapter.
Also there is an event coming up from tomorrow. If i get 350 powerstones in a week, i would post a bonus chapter.

Dratini was not actually a Pokemon of Agnes... yet. A trainer could only have their registered Pokemon after they reach 13 years.
Axel knew that Dratini was doing well and it was training heavily. However, it could still not be compared with Slowpoke's growth as Slowpoke was a part of the forest and Axel's talent would apply to it.
However, Agnes wanted to be like Axel, and seeing that his uncle's Pokemon is progressing much faster than her own, made her feel uneasy. She didn't know the existence of the system.
So, after much deliberation, he came across a solution. Why don't he just make Dratini, a member of the forest? That would mean that his talent would apply to them.
He told Alakazam to ask Slowbro how to be a member of the forest and he got his reply. Seems like there would only be a small ceremony then Dratini would be a member of the forest.
Alakazam teleported Dratini and Axel to the forest and they held a small ceremony.

Dratini has become a member of the forest. Since its origin was not from the forest, 50% of the host talent would apply.

That was good news. Slowbro would enjoy 100% but Dratini would only enjoy 50%. It was still better than nothing. Axel then told his sister to not catch Dratini until she was 13 yrs old.
He then told his sister that he had done magic to her Pokemon and that Dratini would be stronger now.
Of course, she didn't believe him but after a few days, when she saw how fast Dratini was improving, she had to believe him.

It was now time for Axel to visit the mayor. He had been procrastinating it for a long time and now he just could not. Visiting the mayor would bring out old wounds and mental trauma that he had faced during the tide.
In these 2 weeks, nobody had brought up the topic of Pokemon Tide. His uncle would sometime talk about it to encourage him to go through his phase which was very helpful.
But now he had to talk to the mayor. This was for the security of the town itself. Axel had planned to give 25% of the resources of his forest to the village guards and the permanent soldiers of the town. He had to talk about this to the mayor. Obviously, in return for doing this, he would also want to be compensated.
Oak had said that he would need an average of 6 months to recover from his mental state but Axel was recovering very fast.
This was due to 2 reasons.
First, Axel was a reincarnated person and his soul age was much higher than mere 14 years.
Second, Alakazam has been using 'Psychic' to help him heal faster when he was sleeping. Axel didn't know about it but it was helping him a lot.
After a few hours, he finally determined to talk to the mayor today. Enough was enough. He could not sit at home all the time.

Axel felt that he was free. Something had happened to him, like a dam that has been broken, he felt that he somehow had a massive amount of energy and the authority to control that energy.
It took him some time to be stable and then he started to walk toward the mayor's office.

"Hello sir, how can I help you?", asked the receptionist of the mayor's office.
"I am here to meet the mayor. Can you tell me if he is free right now?", asked Axel.
"Please let me call him."
Axel had to wait for some time and the receptionist guided him to the mayor's room.
"Hello, Axel. I am Adam West and I am the mayor of this town.", said Adam shaking his hand.
"I heard that you have come to the city. I wanted to meet you but I just didn't have the time."
"It's okay Mr. Adam. You must have been very busy with your work."
"Yes. So, what do I owe the pleasure of talking to our young prodigy? You must have some business with me, I presume."
The mayor already knew who Axel really was. He was the successor of Prof. Oak and everyone in the town knew about it. Axel was like a young hero of this town. The town was proud to have someone like him.
"Straight to the point. I like that. You must have known that I have bought the east and west side of the forest very recently."
"Hmm."
"I have made an alliance with the Pokemon of the forest and decided to give 25% of the resources to the village guards and the soldier permanently stationed here in the city.", said Axel.
"Really? Are you sure, Mr. Axel? 25% is a lot of resources coming from the 2 sides of the forest.", asked the mayor trying to confirm again.
"I am very sure. My family lives here and I have grown up here. I want the town to be protected at all times. The tides are not good news. So if I could contribute something, then it would make me happy.", said Axel expressing his concern for the town.
"Then I have to thank you for this. It feels really good when young generations are helping the town. But I cannot take those resources for free. If you have anything you need that the town could provide, please tell me.", said the mayor.
The mayor already knew that Axel had come to get compensated for those resources. If not, Axel would not have come here personally to meet him. He could have just donated the amount. He was just acting with Axel. Both of them knew that they were now going to negotiate a deal.
The forest was untouched since the town came along. It had been 100s of years since the town was established. So, 25% of the resources of that forest which covers the largest part of the town would be very huge.
"Well, if Mr. Adam insists, then I have a few things that I would like to request.", said Axel with a smile.
