Chapter 60: Don't Curse

The Emperor's eyes darkened when he saw the blades pointed to him. Swiftly, his hand reached for the weapon placed beside him.

Seeing the man in the golden robe, the assassins hesitated for a few seconds before they swung their sword to the Emperor. Their head filled with thoughts of the possible award they might get the moment they have successfully killed the Emperor.

Just then, the Emperor raised his sword and the sound of metals clunked.

A look of surprise passed the assassins' eyes when the Emperor had successfully blocked their attack. They had never thought that the old man would be able to block their attack.

The two assassins were quick to recover and soon they lurched for another attack.

At this time, the Emperor jumped out of his broken carriage and exchanged a few blows with the assassins. The look on the assassins' faces changed as they were not expecting the Emperor to be someone who was good at sword skills.

The two exchanged their glances and soon began to coordinate to attack the Emperor.

After a few minutes, the Emperor's old body could no longer hold on to the two assassins' ruthless attack. He stepped back and could only evade their attack.

The two assassins finally found an opening and swung their swords at the Emperor's vital point.

Just when the Emperor thought that he might die on this day, the attack was blocked by someone else. Before the assassins were able to check at the identity of the intruder, the sharp blade pierced into their heart.

"You're late!" The Emperor's sharp voice echoed.

"I'm sorry." Qin Zhi Hao swung his sword and the blood splashed away from his sword.

He had seen how the two assassins were going after his father, but at this time, there were too many assassins and he was not able to reach the Emperor's side in time.

Qin Zhi Hao then spun around to block another attack coming their way. A deep frown appeared on his face. He had thought that there was a traitor among them and therefore, decided to take a different route than the one he had discussed with the General and his men.

Surprisingly, the assassins were still able to track them.

Something does not seem right…

"Be careful!"

The warning snapped Qin Zhi Hao out of his thought. He spun around in time and his sword slashed the assassin's throat.

Yu Feng heaved a breath of relief when Qin Zhi Hao managed to act in time. Although she found that the man had brought her nothing but trouble ever since they encountered each other, Yu Feng did not want to see him dead.

After all, her cat, Orange was still in the man's hands.

However, seeing the blood splattering and the head rolling around the ground, Yu Feng placed a hand on her mouth to suppress nausea. Her hand stretched out to hold on to the wall beside her. When she looked up again, the man had already moved to slay another assassin.

Yu Feng swept her gaze around and found that the assassins were nowhere near her. She studied her surroundings and tilted up her head to the sky. Before the signal on the sky appeared again, they needed to get out of there and bring the Emperor to a safer place.

Stealthily, Yu Feng moved closer to the Emperor. At this time, the white smoke appeared in the sky again. She sucked in a deep breath and muttered some cursing words. When she lowered her head, her gaze met with the Emperor's shocked gaze.

Ever since he had become the Emperor, this was the first time that he had seen and heard of anyone muttering a cursing word in front of him.

At this time, Yu Feng caught the sight of an assassin approaching behind the Emperor. Instinctively, Yu Feng lurched forward and tugged at the Emperor's hand to evade the attack in time.

The assassins' blade hit the wall beside them.

Both Yu Feng and the Emperor exchanged a glance knowing that they had just narrowly escaped death and Yu Feng cursed again. Before the assassin was about to launch another attack, Yu Feng pulled the Emperor to the side.

She looked at the Emperor and asked, "Can you run?"

The Emperor only turned to look at her incredulously. As he was unable to react in time, Yu Feng pulled the Emperor to another side. Her plan was to help the Emperor to escape before another wave of assassin would come.

At this time, another wave of assassins came down and the attack on the guards continued.

Seeing the assassin's appearance, the Emperor turned to Yu Feng and pointed his finger at her. "Don't curse."

Yu Feng was forced to swallow and pursed her lips tightly.

There were assassins all around them, but the Emperor was worried that she would speak another cursing word!

The new wave of assassin quickly took notice of the Emperor in his yellow robe and they quickly made their way to approach him.

She wanted to curse, but could only suppress herself as the Emperor was around. She was a little too late to take the Emperor away to safety.

Her gaze swept around her surroundings and Yu Feng watched the killing scene in front of her, disheartened.

The number of assassins kept increasing, but the number of guards was slowly decreasing. After a while, the guards will no longer able to hold on against the assassins.

On Qin Zin Hao's side, at least five men were surrounding him. No matter if he was good at swordsmanship, he would not be able to go through this attack for a long time. If help did not come, everyone around would definitely not going to survive this night.

Yu Feng subconsciously tightened her hand into a fist and wonder if they were going to make it out alive.

Just then, Yu Feng heard the sound of running footsteps along with shouts. She turned her head towards the direction and saw a group of men heading towards them.

Her first instinct was that another wave of assassins had arrived. However, she soon realized that they were a part of the Imperial Guards and they were on the Emperor's side.

Yu Feng's eyes widened when she recognized the man leading the group to fight against the assassin.

A breath of relief escaped her as she called his name. "Officer Zhou Ming!"
