Chapter 17: Maiguh's request

Dinetee, Endra and Nevlin trekked back to the portal and to their home in the End. It was as dark and cold as they remebered. Maiguh was at their side in an instance. "My daughters." He said, his voice filled with warmth.

The three bowed to him deeply, "father we have news."

They told him about what they'd learned from Serse. Onicent had formed a counsel with the other gods and goddess's and Alora had been invited. Maiguh listened to this information with new light in his eyes.

"Send word to Onicent, I wish to sit along side my siblings."

The daughters were hesitant, "he has mistreated you greatly father, are you sure he won't again betray you?"

Maiguh still after all these years believed in goodness. "Even if he does, the others won't refuse, especially if Alora is there."

The daughters nodded, they too saw potential.

"Go back now, and send word to my brother. Be civil and polite to him." Maiguh warned them. He could tell they held anger toward their uncle. He wished they'd let go of it, for nothing good would come of it he was sure. He embraced each girl briefly and sent them off again.

They trekked carefully to the palace, when they arrived it was nightfall. Together they walked into the throne room, and to their disappointment only Onicent was present. When he saw them he startled.

"Lord and uncle, we come with a message," Dinetee said bowing her head stiffly.

"And who would your father be?" Onicent had a tentative look on his face.

"Your younger brother Maiguh, we are his daughters. He has requested a throne within this palace."

Onicent's eyes narrowed. He spoke shortly and aggressively, "my brother Maiguh shall not have a throne in my palace."

"The others though," Nevlin said, "they are not here to give their voices."

Onicent straightened, "in such a small matter I don't think their voices are necessary. Maiguh does not belong here and neither do you three."

Nevlin hissed quietly, but was silenced by Dinetee. "We shall stay then till tomorrow and depart."

"I shall not host you in my castle, be gone."

The three sister's boiled with rage, between them a plan was forming.

"Very well," Endra said with venom, "but beware."

Onicent chuckled at them darkly, "go home to your father with the message." One of his hands stroked a blade at his side.

The three turned on their heels and left, dark thoughts circled between them.
