Chapter 214: Shadow in the dark

Alastair was reluctant to leave the girl in his embrace alone and go to meet the former King of Oryn, who was currently on his death. Samantha had finally calmed down, and her nightmare seemed to have ended. Even her tears had stopped escaping her eyes, leaving behind only a trail of dried tears. She seemed to be completely at ease and relaxed.

It was already past dinner time and not once had she woken up. And Alastair too had tried to wake her up, allowing her exhausted body and mind to get some rest. He had not left her alone for even for a moment, ordering for his dinner to be served in Samantha's room as he kept an eye on the sleeping girl.

However, now he was hesitant to even let go of her from his embrace let alone leave her in the room to herself. But he had no choice either. It was his duty to pay a visit to the former King and, Kirill was waiting for him.
