Chapter 4: Chapter 4

After taking the huragoks, Renato went into the temple. But just as he was about to go inside, the huragoks turned sideways and went left.

"Oi, where are you going? Sigh, whatever, I will follow you guys for now," said Renato as he continued following them because he remembered the force's suggestion to take these guys along.

They arrived near some kind of broken energy generator before the huragoks immediately started disassembling and reassembling the generator. As soon as they finished, it turned on and only took a few seconds before the entire building came to life.

They turned back to him, he felt like they were saying that they were done here, so he nodded and went back to the entrance. This time the pathway was lit up but it was still covered with a lot of plants. He started walking into the building while making sure to keep his force connection active looking for danger.

Suddenly, the huragok stopped again, thinking of their previous work. He waited, and it proved to be beneficial because they cut through all the vines to reach a control panel. They promptly did their thing on the control panel. They then turned towards him, he felt a prod from the force to use the control panel and immediately; it turned on, from there he could see all the camera feeds of the temple and saw a lot of animals in the temple, but it also had the map of the entire building.

Now that he knew there were hostiles in the building, Renato went back to the ship and brought Paddy along with him, as she was the only one that was combat-ready in their group. While he could still fight telekinetically, he felt that it was better for him to be in a support role for now.

"Hey Paddy, you have to come with me to the temple. There are many animals in the temple. I want you to help me clear the temple."

"Oh, what is wrong? Little young master can't defend himself, don't worry, paddy will be the Jedi knight with a lightsaber for you."

"Sigh, I am somewhat regretting giving you back your free will. If I was just a bit eviler then you would still have a restraining bolt, you know that right?"

"Oh yes, yes, Paddy knows the young master is benevolent and mighty," she said sarcastically.

"Whatever, let's go"

Now with the help of Paddy, we started promptly clearing the building of all animals. While the huragok followed behind them and kept doing their thing across all the tech in each room, they stopped. This type of thing happened several times throughout the exploration of the temple. But now they were finally in the last room.

They reached what looked like the council room, and it was here that Renato found one of his favourite pieces of technology. The floating council chair. There were only three floating chairs currently and each of them was damaged somewhat, he had an idea and requested the huragoks through Paddy to cannibalise the other chairs to at least make one completely working one, and they did!

Renato was now the proud owner of a floating chair, and the best part was that it even had a cup holder! He quickly used force jump to jump onto the floating chair and used it to move around instead of the exhausting task of walking with his tiny body.

After some time, he had completely explored everywhere in the temple and didn't find any Jedi holocrons, he decided to meditate and ask the force instead. Slowly, he moved his chair through the temple back to the library.

There he immediately found a wall panel, after telekinetically pulling it open, it revealed a scanner for opening a secret room.

"Paddy, please ask the huragoks to slice this please."

As she translated, the huragok floated over the panel, then used their cilia, and bam, there was a deep rumble, as a staircase slowly revealed itself in the middle of the library. Because why not? The Jedi were always a little bit too theatrical anyway.

Seeing that the staircase looked untouched, he hoped it was a secret vault of the Jedi that hadn't been looted already. But just in case, Renato kept force senses on active mode and went through the staircase into a long corridor.

At the end of the corridor, there was a huge vault door, but there wasn't any mechanism to open the door. No computers, no huge wheel you have to turn, and he certainly didn't have a lightsaber to cut through this thing, and even if he had a lightsaber he had a feeling that the door was lightsaber proof.

Honestly, Renato was pretty much stumped on how to open the door, he went back to his mindscape to try and find methods, that's when it hit him! What was the answer to an impossible conundrum in the Star Wars universe? That is right, it was the force!

He could telekinetically move the vault door gears to make it unlock. Now that he had an idea of what to do, Renato sat down and then started to meditate and connect to the force as deeply as possible without going on a force-vision trip. Then he slowly covered the door with the force to feel the mechanisms of the door.

Then with intense focus, he slowly made all the gear and mechanisms spin to unlock the door and bam! The vault door was now unlocked, he then used his telekinetic energy to open the door and with loud creaking the vault door opened to show the inside was ... walls covered with shelves with what looked like lightsabers.

Under each lightsaber, there was a nameplate with dates, Renato figured that this was probably the place they kept the lightsaber of dead Jedi. Other than that, there was one architect droid that was connected to a charging station but looked powered down because the charging station looked a little damaged, so he probably hadn't been charged for a long time.

Before he could stop them, however, the huragoks quickly moved in to do their thing on the droid. They quickly remade him and the charging station and plugged him in. Now Renato was running towards the droid and opened the terminal to quickly reprogram its loyalties before it woke up and started attacking him.

Opening up the terminal, however, Renato was pleasantly surprised when the code looked like the one from the halo knowledge pack. He was wondering and searching his knowledge of why that was when he found that humanity had been using a programming language that was inspired by their research on the forerunners.

Since it was based on a programming language he already knew, quickly, he went through the programming and found the loyalty subroutines and changed it to him. After he was finished though he went through the rest of the coding to see how the huragok changed the coding, and boy was he surprised.

The coding was a work of art because from what he had seen in Star Wars was that they had amazing learning algorithms almost equalling to sentients, but their core programming was always very inefficient.

He didn't mean it was garbage, hell it was loads of times better than anything from his old homeworld, but it still left a lot to be desired. So, the new programming of the droid was the best of both worlds. The streamlined programming languages from the Halo universe and the amazing learning algorithms of Star Wars.

Honestly, he felt that the only reason that learning algorithms were so well designed probably had to do something with force shenanigans. Anyway, seeing that the droid was almost fully charged and ready to boot up, Renato closed the terminal and stood a little farther away.

Within a minute or two, the droid completed getting charged up and then started booting up and when it saw him it said.

"Oh, Hello, what is a youngling like you doing here? This isn't supposed to be a place where younglings can come and why do I feel much more efficient and have extra functions? Oh, it looks like you have changed my loyalty subroutines. Did you do this Mr Renato?"

"In the order of your questions, I am not a youngling of the Jedi. You feel more intelligent and efficient because these aliens, known as the huragok, disassembled and reassembled you while also making you more efficient. No, as I said, I had nothing to do with your efficiency and/or your abilities that are all the huragoks doing, but I was the one who changed your loyalty subroutine."

"Hmm, I have been disassembled and reassembled by these aliens, you say? Oh, looks like they have made a lot of changes, can't say I am not satisfied though. But how did you get here, Mr Renato? I would think any of the Jedi Master or Grandmasters would stop you"

"That is some news you will find very disheartening. This temple had been abandoned some 3600 years ago when the Sith attacked. All the Jedi Masters were killed due to a strategic attack on the master's enclave. All those who survived had to quickly move the Jedi temple."

"Oh, my goodness, have all the Jedi masters died? No wonder, no one cleaned this vault, only Jedi Master knew where this vault was and only someone with equal skill in the force could open it. Has the Jedi order survived? On that note, how did you open it, Mr. Renato? Are you perhaps a Sith? If so, please Mindwipe me. I don't think I can work with someone who killed my makers."

"That is the most likely the case. Yes, the Jedi order has survived, the Jedi order has killed all known Sith, there hasn't been a Sith seen in 1000 years. As for how I opened the door, I opened it telekinetically with force, but unfortunately, I haven't been trained in any force discipline. This is just me naturally trying and replicating some of the force techniques I have heard of."

"It is wonderful news that the Jedi order has survived, and you are certainly a special individual, Mr Renato. If it was during the times of the Jedi Order, I wouldn't be surprised if the Masters were singing praises of you."

"Unfortunately, that is not possible, anyway we have talked for so long I still don't know your name"

"Oh, sorry for my rudeness, I am Mark III Architect droid, Qiuying and thank you for helping me Leans-slightly-to-the-left, Wobbles-sometimes, and Mr Renato"

"Nice meeting you Qiuying, now can you give me information about where I can get training on the force."

Renato was surprised, and couldn't help but curse himself for being dumb, how could he forget that huragoks also had names, other than that he could see that the Architect droid didn't want to tell him about the force training methods. Honestly, it felt bad that he was forcing the droid with the loyalty subroutine but force training was crucial to Renato.

"There is a passageway from here to a similar vault under the Master's enclave, where they kept all the unidentified, dangerous or prototype artefacts. They most likely contain many holocrons. I would, however, suggest caution as there are many Sith artefacts without any mental force shielding you may be influenced by them"

"Don't worry about that. Just show me the way. Just in case, Paddy, if I act weird you have the permission to restrict me."

"Aren't you always weird, young master?"

"Force! where are you getting all that sass from? I certainly don't remember anything similar in your code."

Renato couldn't help but think all this sass was influenced by her female form. It wasn't uncommon in the Star Wars universe for droids to mimic the behaviour of the shape they were made into.

"That is because like all droids, I learn and without a restraining bolt I can become who I want to be."

"Yeah, yeah, you don't need to try to make me feel guilty."

"Yes, young master."

So Qiuying, Paddy, Renato and the huragoks followed a tunnel until they came across a collapse. Renato telekinetically repaired the collapsed tunnel. To an outsider watching it, it would look like someone was using a reparo spell, as the fallen bricks and dirt each levitated and set themselves in a proper position.

'This is going to be stable for now, but I wouldn't trust it if we even had more than slight tremors.' Renato thought to himself as he and others continued to reach another vault gate which was much, much bigger, and there was another route leading to the door, which according to Quiying was the one from the master's enclave.

Renato readied himself to open the door. "Here goes nothing," Renato said as he put immense concentration on feeling the door and slowly unlocking the door. Unlike the door to the lightsaber tomb from before, the current door took over 15 mins.

By the time he was finished unlocking the door, Renato was already exhausted and was sweating heavily and panting.

"Mr. Renato, you astound me, this door, to stop Jedi Masters from being in frequent contact with artefacts of questionable nature, was only able to be opened by a team of four Jedi working in concert. This is an astonishing amount of skill you have shown!"

Paddy however was different and instead saw that Renato was looking exhausted and suggested, "Young master, it is already time for dinner. Why don't we stop here and come back tomorrow?"

"Thank you for your praise, Qiuying. The skill in telekinesis comes from the fact that for over a year, the only form of interaction I could have with the outside world was through telekinesis. Repeated practice has increased my skill to what it is today. Further, my experimental birth could also have played a significant role in this. On the other hand, what was it that I heard from you, Paddy? Did I hear some worry about me? You must absolutely love me to worry about me."

"Whatever, young master, I have to be your caretaker, because you are such a baby and I am literally programmed to do so."

"While your skills are wonderful, I would also suggest you stop here Mr. Renato. Facing probable Sith artefacts with a tired mind is not a wise decision" supplied Qiuying from the side.

"Hmm, okay, we will stop here for today, I guess. I too feel it is a little dangerous to go into a room full of Sith artefacts while I am tired. We can come back tomorrow morning after a full rest and I am also scared of taking the huragok with us into the room. If they approach any corrupted device or get possessed, I will be utterly ruined."

Thus, Renato went back to the ship, ate dinner and lost himself to sleep. all the while Paddy was filling Qiuying in on the details of what happened since the last time he was activated
