Chapter 298: Shattered

Her surroundings became a blur and so did her vision as the only thing that she could see was the girl in the photo frame, and even she was going in and out of her vision.

Her hand that was holding the frame trembled and her breathing became short and heavy. All the memories from her childhood came rushing back to her and attacked her without any mercy.

Her face, her smile, her voice, those same words that she constantly kept telling Emily whenever the two of them met, and most importantly... the scene where she died, everything was so clear and fresh in Emily's memories that it didn't give her any chance to break out of their painful hold on her.

"Angel, what's wrong?"

Kaiden's sudden voice caused an abrupt surge of terror to shoot through Emily's entire body and she ended up losing her hold on the photo frame. It landed on the floor and the glass immediately shattered into hundreds of pieces, just like her entire world was shattering at that moment.
