Chapter 50: Chapter 49

Alchemist

Location: Rageton desert...

They climbed up the stairs, however, the alchemist already learned about their presence by checking the cameras and opened the door to his guests. The princess and her companions entered in. Stairs descended and the whole place was covered by computers and a great telescope right in the middle, long enough to cut the vaulted ceiling.

"Wow, how is this real?" Elendeer murmured.

Tamina heard that and moved downstairs, "let's go we are losing time if we stay marveled".

Four assistants were working behind the computers and one person around the telescope. A man in his thirties approached, the man that used to be called the alchemist was too young for the title they have given him. His long hair was wavy brown tied up and had a boney face shape as he saw the princess his honey-like eyes glittered. Passed a busy table and smiled, "I see that the Taramusian princess minded to meet me the alchemist from the earth after two years, welcome my lady", bowed and kissed her hand.

Tamina seemed cold tempered to show reactions toward his jest, "you speak very loud Viro Jackson".

The smile on Viro face faded away as he studied the wounds on her arms and face, "Why on the earth are you here, what are these wounds for?" his heartbeats raced.

"My brother claimed for the throne and rioted we lost Leigaroun," Tamina surprised that he didn't know, her father had sent a crow, but that means nomads didn't learn about demons.

Viro heard a whistle inside his head, "What? Where did he get the army or allies?" He couldn't hear anything for a moment, but his lips moved and threw the words.

"That is true, my father had sent you a crow around five days ago".

"No one ever brought us such news and yet I couldn't settle the connection system here".

"Maybe he had caught by the prince watches, let's talk in private." Strandeer guessed, but it was true the crow had been killed by a black Dortonia Bat. Even not strange if they didn't know about the war, they had no telecommunications there. Viro had been working on it, but the war had already come before he tests his system. And the crows were the only way to reach.

Demons didn't need to walk around the desert, therefore it wasn't something odd that nomads still were unaware of demons army and what had happened in the capital. But there was a huge power in Rageton, the nomad's clan was one of the strongest family in the whole Taramus. More than two thousand male and female warriors. But the problem was they may consider this rebel as a fight for the throne and keep being mute might rather not get involve in a family argument.

Viro nodded to Strandeer and said, "Please follow me", turned to Elendeer and said, "Have a look around we'll get back soon".

Elendeer lowered his head and walked to the left to study the telescope at a closer distance.

The room that Viro had taken them was a secured, but very untidy library. There was a big table near the bookshelf. Old dusty books wide open perched on it and made a hill out of them, dust landed on each shelf and proved that the alchemist had no time to dustup around. The windows made of colorful stained glass transferred the light and glinted on their faces.

Strandeer stopped near a book, blew on it, but dust spattered onto his eyes and nose, coughed, and protested, "Brother at least tell you're pupils clean up here".

Tamina picked up a book and surprised, "I'm not sure if you are fond of our mythical stories, what this book is for?" snooped at him.

"These were gifts from the king", Viro replied as he got interested in them a long time ago.

She touched the leather book cover and said, "Aren't you going to tell me there are ways to open a gate or even make…" she interrupted the rest as Viro wondered and replied, "I apologize, but I assumed you are unaware of it".

Strandeer sneered and added, "Indeed, we did since two days ago and we have a short time".

Viro leaned to the table, his hand wide open, "I'm not ready you see then tell me what shall I do?"

Tamina stepped near the window, the light pervaded her face, she closed her eyes and commanded, "Gather your stuff we'll go after the crystal you had gotten from king Sayan, then you'll come to the cold castle with us".

"It was a secret between me and the king no one knew about elves it must be so serious, who is supporting your brother?" Viro asked.

"Tarun and an army of demons," she responded out of shame.

"This is a nightmare right? Demons? And if I bring out the stone another danger can threat us either Farya we must be vigilant to catch each nuance in every step".

"Yes, armies of ugly filthy creatures you see in a nightmare with sharp teeth and long claws able to tear up an adult man, they turned Leigaroun to a slaughterhouse". Strandeer gave him the details and he clenched out of disgust.

"Where is the stone?" The princess asked.

Viro walked through a shelf brought out a book, turned the red hardcover, and ripped it off. Brought out a key, pointed to it and complained, "So that's why they call it a furry gate, so bad that it must be opened in such a bad situation, if I knew the date is so close I wouldn't bother for making up all those traps to hide it".

Tamina couldn't tolerate he was slowing down their speed, "you are so chatty stop it and shake your legs, Viro Jackson". She moved to the door, "we'll wait outside", without a hesitance left.

Strandeer followed her, but Viro grabbed his arm, "Hey is she still upset with me?"

He sneered, "You got a new chance use it until she is mad at you it means she still carries a torch for you idiot don't go too far this time".

Viro nodded and rejoined, "I'll get ready soon", and Strandeer shot the door.
