Chapter 3: Chapter Three

The next morning was not as awkward as Taehyung had expected.

After Jungkook's confession of Taehyung being his second soulmate, Taehyung had panicked, and shut himself away in his room. He had to think of the possibilities. The chance of him having love for the first time in centuries.

Taehyung was drawn to Jungkook on a level he couldn't understand, and that made him scared. What if he lost Jungkook? What if Jungkook also withered away into nothing? That night, it rained, and continued to do so until early morning.

When Taehyung finally left his room at seven o clock a.m., Jungkook was preparing breakfast in the kitchen, and Taehyung couldn't help but smile as he watched the unique creature hum softly to himself while he whisked together noodles, rice, soup, and other side dishes belonging to Korean culture.

"Kookie?" Taehyung uttered softly as he timidly moved closer to the other. Jungkook turned around, giving a brief, gentle smile, but it didn't reach his eyes. "Good morning, Taehyung. Did you sleep well?"

Taehyung sighed softly, and looked down at his feet as he prepared to speak.

"To tell you the truth, no, I didn't. I was up till late, thinking. You see, I... I lost so many people. I tried, again, and again, to save everyone I cared about, but each one of them withered away into nothing. I thought that, if I was given the chance to find love in someone who couldn't die, I'd jump for it. But last night, my fears took over, and I panicked."

Jungkook was silent, so Taehyung continued to speak, knowing that he had to get his point across before he lost his chance with Jungkook.

"But now that I've calmed down, I've realized that the chances of losing you, if I really am your soulmate, are slim. So, I accept you. And I don't think you're a beast. Beasts don't have feelings and emotions like you do. I think you're special, Jungkook. If you can forgive me for my actions, then I'm willing to accept my fate given by the gods as your soulmate for the rest of my life."

Taehyung was pulled against Jungkook's chest by his strong, warm arms, and a kiss was pressed against the top of his head.

"Taehyung, I'll always forgive you. You're my soulmate, my sign that I need to move on from my past, and look at my future with you. If you accept me, I accept you. Now go get dressed, love. You can't run around in a t-shirt and boxers all day."

Warmth filled Taehyung, spreading through his body, all the way to his head and to his toes as he heard Jungkook's soothing voice. "Okay, Kookie. Please don't hurt yourself cooking." Jungkook chuckled a bit, pulling back and nuzzling his forehead against Taehyung's. "I won't, Tae. Now go. When you come back, breakfast will be ready."

And off Taehyung went.

Taehyung was lucky, his first class was with Jungkook. This class seemed trivial, seen as it was a combat class, meant to pair people with others who had opposite tactics and to see which one would utilize not only their abilities but the other's abilities as well.

When the teacher started class, she immediately made eye contact with Taehyung, who had been the center of attention since he showed up with Jungkook, the Alpha werewolf's arm wrapped snugly around his small waist.

"Ah, you must be the new student. Come forwards, introduce yourself, your age, and your race, please."

Nervously, Taehyung stepped forwards, and then faced the ten students belonging to his class.

"Hi, my name is Kim Taehyung. My human age is eighteen, but I'm actually older than four thousand years. I'm... Well... I'm an Olympian."

His hands were clenched into fists as he watched the confusion morph every student's face, even Jungkook's. Someone blurted out a question, asking Taehyung to elaborate more, and so he did. Even if he would end up regretting it later.

"An Olympian, a child of two Greek deities. My father is Zeus, the father of all Greek gods and goddesses, with the abilities to not only control lightning, but the weather. My mother is Metis, the Goddess of wisdom, prudence, and deep thought. She is a child of the titans and the oceanids."

The realization quickly set in, and soon people were gasping in awe. One boy in particular raised his hand, expression calm and calculating as he stepped forwards. "Did you grow up with your parents? Who helped you train your abilities?"

Taehyung softly shook his head. "There was a prophecy told that of the two children my mother would bear, one would be a son powerful enough to overthrow my father. When she gave birth to me, she threw me to Earth, hoping that I could escape my father. If he knew of my existence, he would be scared enough to murder me."

Taehyung's gaze briefly fell upon Jungkook before looking down at his feet. "My father thirsts for power constantly. His fear would overrule his love for his own child. My mother is my savior, but also the one who cursed me with the life I have lived so far."

Before anyone else could ask a question, the teacher clapped her hands, her deep blue eyes staring Taehyung down with curiosity and caution. "Alright! That's enough questions! Since it seems we have a very experienced deity here, how about we have someone fight Taehyung for the experience?"

The same boy who had questioned Taehyung so calmly stepped forwards. "I'd like to fight him." Taehyung studied the boy, wondering how he was so calm. But searching within his eyes, Taehyung found curiosity burning like a bright flame.

The boy was incredibly smart, and his obvious intentions were to only see just how powerful Taehyung really was. The boy merely wanted to study Taehyung, but without bringing harm to the both of them.

As the boy stepped closer to Taehyung, he smiled lightly, and nodded at the unknown male. "May I know your name?" He questioned softly.

The other male nodded a bit, smiling warmly, exposing cute dimples to go along with his bright eyes.

"My name is Kim Namjoon."

Taehyung held out his hand, and smiled a real smile at Namjoon, his eyes turning to crescents as his lips formed a box shape around his pearly teeth. "It's nice to meet you, Namjoon! I hope we can be friends, I haven't had one in far too long."

Namjoon chuckled slightly, and shook Taehyung's hand. That was his first mistake. Once again, Taehyung was sucked into a memory, however, this one was much more fond than Jungkook's.

"Joon, go talk to him!"

"I can't, Yoongs. What if he doesn't like me? Or thinks I'm weird?"

Yoongi let out an annoyed groan, and slapped Namjoon's arm harshly.

"You're a fuckin' dumbass, man. He stares when you're not looking, you know. He likes you."

At his best friend's words, his heart exploded into a rhythm far too fast for his liking, but he stood nevertheless.

"I'll... I'll talk to him."

- - -

When Taehyung came back to his senses, Namjoon had tears running down his face as he smiled.

"So, this is one of your abilities, huh."

Taehyung laughed lightly, wiping away stray tears from his face.  "Yes, Namjoon. I suppose you're lucky, because I can't control what kind of memory is brought to the surface."

Namjoon hummed softly, and wiped his tears before taking a couple steps back, and smiling brightly. "Will you tell me all about it after classes today?"

Taehyung grinned brightly, raising his right hand out in front of him.

"I'd love to, Joonie!"

Taehyung summoned his ability inherited by his father, lightning. A number of small lightning bolts joined together to create a much larger one, and he waited for the teacher's call. As soon as she gave the go-ahead, Taehyung let the lightning bolt charge forward. He moved the lightning bolt, chasing after Namjoon who dodged consistently.

Eventually, it hit him, and sent him flying  few feet, leaving a painful wound in his side. Right after, the teacher called the match, and Taehyung let his lightning bolt fade to nothing before rushing over to Namjoon.

"I'm so sorry! I don't know how to hold back my powers, my father is very powerful, and I guess I inherited that from him. Will you be alright?"

Taehyung's eyebrows were furrowed in worry as he helped Namjoon into a sitting position, placing a hand on the other boy's side in an attempt to slow the bleeding.

Namjoon smiled lightly, and carefully patted Taehyung's head. "I'm alright, Taehyung. My boyfriend, the one you saw in my memory, is a pretty powerful healer. I'll be alright."

As if on cue, another male came surging forwards, taking Namjoon's other side, and healing the wound immediately. As soon as the wound was healed, Namjoon got smacked on the back of the head by the boy.

"Kim Namjoon! I swear to the gods that if you don't stop with your little experiments on your own classmates I'll kill you one day!"

That was how Taehyung got introduced to Kim Seokjin, Namjoon's lover.
