Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Ant Tide
"Should we continue or stop?" Caizher asked coldly. If these people still want to give him trouble then he won't give any mercy. He is confident that after paying the price of more parts of his body that will recover in time, he would win and kill them all
The six have cold sweats all over their bodies. The unknown is extremely horrifying. If they saw Caizher killing someone directly then they won't be that scared. But they didn't know how he did it! They don't know Caizher's abilities and that is what made them afraid
They might not even be able to know how they died. "C-captain" the five looks at the only woman with them. Since she is the captain, it's up for her to decide on things like this
The woman took a deep breath and nodded her head "Alright, no need to spill more blood" she decided to let Caizher go
This is the apocalypse, a lot of people died, and not all those who survived has the ability to fight. The people that have the courage and skills are extremely limited and every single one of them is crucial for humanity's survival. She doesn't want to lose any more talent
For her, it won't be worth it to kill a single entity while paying the price of one or more of the experts with them. Even if their boss becomes furious with this, they can't be blamed much. It was his son's fault for offending something this powerful
Besides, the boss is the boss but it wasn't only him that holds great power in the base. His son offended a lot of people and the man would have died already if his father doesn't have huge authority and power
The other powers on their base won't let talents like them be killed because of someone they hated
"Smart decision, woman" Caizher's voice was still as cold as before and he floated deeper in the city. He's not scared that they will suddenly attack him 'behind his back' as he has a 360° vision
The six heave a sigh of relief after Caizher left. If they know of Caizher's means, they won't be too afraid but they didn't
"Let's go back first to report this" the woman said and two men carried the corpse on the ground as they head back to their base

Caizher entered one of the tall buildings in the City and head upstairs so that no fallen will disturb him. He needs to recuperate first and recover to his usual size
He very much wants to start cultivating the 'Primordial Darkness Heretic Art' but base on the information that the eye gave him, he first needs to get accustomed to his body. It's easy to have an accident if you don't know your body that well
After some time, Caizher's Divine Darkness Body returned back to being around three cubic meters in size and he starts to wander around the City again
Fighting will make him more accustomed to his body and will speed up the process. He just hopes that he won't encounter any stupid human again that will attack him on sight
It wasn't hard to find enemies as the city was infested by huge amounts of fallens. Not just fallen humans and animals. A city this big would have a lot of animals like cats and dogs, but they aren't that scary.
The scarier ones are the rat tides! In a certain area, it was easy to find hundreds and thousands of them and their size are bigger than before the apocalypse
However, the scariest of them all is the ant colonies! Just imagine tens or hundreds of thousands of ants attacking you at the same time, how would it not make you scared?
To Caizher's luck, he encountered an ant tide, although this one has smaller numbers. Maybe only around a few thousands of them. But they are as long as half a finger!
Caizher wasn't afraid though, numbers are ineffective on him as long as his enemies don't have enough strength!
Humans will do their best to avoid this ant tide but Caizher is different as he charged at them happily
"It's showtime!" Caizher shouted and condensed his darkness into a palm shape. The darkness palm descended on the ground and crushed tens of ants at the same time
They might be bigger now but the apocalypse only started months ago! They are still ants and ants are easy to kill!
Caizher returned the palm into a fog-like state and the dead ants that got stuck on it fell on the ground. The ants wanted to retaliate but Caizher is floating about two to three feet from the ground and they cannot do anything
No matter how angry they are, they can only serve as punching bags to Caizher. Thus, a massacre started and the ants were crushed to death
Even if they tried crawling on the palm that Caizher made, the man only needs to return the palm to its original state and the ants will fall on the ground on their own
But the ants weren't that completely helpless. With their high numbers, it was bound to happen that some of them can launch energy attacks. Although ants like that are much rarer than humans who can do it
Even their energy attacks are smaller than a nail and even tens of them weren't able to damage Caizher's body much
"Sorry ants but you need to die!" Caizher roared and continued his non-stop attacks on them
To get used to his body faster, he needs to fight and fight! Also, killing these ants will make the world a safer place. He's still a former human and although he won't actively help humans but he doesn't want the ant race to be the dominant race on earth!
Without modern weaponry, humans would surely be overwhelmed by the ants' numbers. Caizher still needs humans to find and discover more information in the apocalypse for him
It's not like he can talk to these ants and other animals and learn anything from them
Suddenly, Caizher found out that the number of ants increased. It seems like they called for their comrades. The increase of ants' numbers also increases the ones that can make energy attacks
Caizher's body sustained more damage causing him to become smaller and smaller. But the thrill that the feeling of having great power gave him was too enjoyable
He loses count of how many hundreds or maybe even thousands he killed. The way he dominated these weak creatures excites him. Caizher loves this feeling!
He only stopped when he's only one cubic meter in size. Although he likes dominating the ants but he's still sane. He needs to preserve his body in case a powerful enemy arrived
Caizher floated away and entered one of the buildings. However, to his surprise, the ants followed him angrily inside. Caizher moved into another building but the ants still followed him
The ants flooded the whole area after all and it wasn't that easy to escape their sights. This made Caizher quite flustered
"Damn ants, be good to daddy!" The tables have turned and Caizher is now the one at a disadvantage. The ants followed him everywhere he goes
He even met some humans along the way. The unfortunate humans were bitten to death by the angry ants. These weak people do not have any ability to fight back with these many ants
And Caizher of course wouldn't save them, he's not that saintly to clean up a mess this huge that he himself did
As Caizher's speed wasn't that fast and the ants came literally everywhere, his already small darkness body turned even smaller
He can dodge one or two attacks but the ant's numbers are too many
"Fuck! Stupid ants!" Caizher cursed and made a hand to give them the middle finger while he's running or rather floating away from the ants
No matter what, Caizher won't stop as he needs to survive! It would be a huge waste of the opportunity that the powerful eye gave him if he dies this early
With this in mind, Caizher never stopped fleeing and before he knows it, there are no more ants following him
Caizher stopped and looked around him "Hmm, are they scared of my power now?" The man asked himself before looking around him
"Uh? This place doesn't even have fallens?" Caizher was shocked at this. He's currently in what looks like a park. A place like this should have a lot of fallens but there weren't any
Soon, Caizher found out why. He saw a blank white door and he instantly knew why there are no fallens around
"But mutant animals can still approach the doors, why they didn't follow me here?" Caizher was puzzled by this but he's too lazy to think of an answer. It's not like he can have an answer if he thinks hard, why bother with it?
The most important thing is to recover again.
As for the ants, they won't go too far from their Queen and Caizher flee for so long that the ants were forced to go back

The group of six humans finally reached their base. However, all of their faces have an ugly expression. They might not be killed by their boss but the man would still direct his anger on them
The boss was also like his son who does not have a good personality. If it wasn't for him being so powerful, the others would have already taught him a lesson
But the boss can use lightning attacks and he's very good at it! Of all the elemental attacks, lightning is one of the most destructive in nature. Its firepower was at the top
Even if it doesn't kill you but if you let it hit your body, it would still make you feel numb. In a fight, if one loses control of their body even for just a second, that can spell their doom!
There is a high chance that you will die on that second and it's not like you only need a second to recover. Thus, that man becomes their base's leader. This is the apocalypse, after all, no one can find fault in your attitude if you are strong enough. The weak can only swallow their anger in front of the strong that protected them
"Captain Sheena, how will we say what happened in the city?" One of the men asked their captain
Sheena sighed before answering. "As the captain of this operation, I'll take the blame. Besides, I'm one of the strongest fighters here, he won't be able to do much to me" although Sheena said that but she's still nervous
The boss's reputation is that of a bully and he doesn't give a face to other people. If he learned that his only son died, he would surely be as angry as hell
"Captain!!" The other five almost fell into tears. They might also be experts in their base but their power was no match for their captain. They would surely have a crueler punishment if they also take the blame
"Yeah, yeah. Don't sweat it!" Sheena waved her hand for them to stop. No matter what, she's the one that decided to not take revenge for the boss' son. She needs to take responsibility for it
What the six were afraid of finally came to them as they reached the boss' office
This man is called Bruce, his body is muscular and his muscles almost popped on his shirt. When he saw that his son was being carried by two people, sparks formed on his body and he immediately went to his son's side
Bruce pushed away the two people that was carrying his son and carried the man on his own. The men felt numb all over their bodies as Bruce's lightning touched them
"Who? Who did this?! How did this happen?!" The boss' power rage around him. Fortunately, it has only been half a year since the apocalypse
Humans do not have out of this world power yet that can destroy everything in sight. If not, from how angry Bruce is, lightning would surely rain down on the office and scorch everything
Sheena balled her fist and steeled her mind before opening her mouth to speak
"W-we encountered a strange creature on our way. It was entirely composed of darkness and can talk but your son attacked him without a warning. The creature was angered and powerful. I-It killed your son in anger and I don't have a choice but to let it go because of its unpredictable means"
