Chapter 747: TRICK 8: LITTLE ALPHA GHOST HAS SOME FUN

27 FEBRUARY, SATURDAY, CONTINUED

I needed to get away quick! Some place safe and quiet... I needed to think. So naturally, I found myself in my bathroom.

Outside, I could hear Ben's heavy boots patter down the stairs as he yelled, "Special Team activate. Be at my den to pick up equipment ASAP!"

"Wait!" I think that was Beta Lucas, but he was too slow as usual. Ben was already down to the pool room, a commotion of doors opening and shutting on the second floor signaled that the Special Team had received their command.

Think, Sam, think!

Was it weird for ghosts to bathe? I looked to my bathtub, a nice bubble bath usually helped me think, but today it was filled with blue stained water bombs.

Oh. I forgot about those.

I popped back into my room to empty my school bag, and then loaded it up with ammo. If Ben and my special team was going to be ghost hunting, I should at least be ready to fight back.

By now, Mum and the girls had taken Sabre down to the main house. Even though she was right now my only channel of communication, she was also my most dangerous opponent. If she just pointed at me, I'm not sure what my crazy wolves would do. Sabre should be avoided at all cost.

I can't believe I was on the run from my own wolves. They're crazy! All of them were bonkers. My wolf friends from school had hinted, okay, Henry and Marcus had flat out told me my wolves were mad, but I had written it off as a joke.

Why had I never noticed this? My wolves were mad.

Oh well, I was the ghost armed with a backpack of waterbombs filled with blue dye, and it had occurred to me, just very vaguely that a more normal response would be something else, although what that might be seemed beyond my grasp.

I'll think about it later, when I could soak in my tub again. For now, I had hundreds of these blue babies all aching to make their mark!

I popped out of the house as my elders step out onto the long wrap around porch of the Alpha House. Heh, heh, heh... they were like sitting ducks. Very formally attired sitting ducks, but sitting ducks nevertheless.

"Its a very simple spell." Alpha Gunter was saying to my wolves. He held a small piece of crystal, no bigger than a diamond stud between his forefinger and thumb, and then he flicked it into the space above the driveway, "Spirit bind."

And immediately, the crystal split and wove a visible web made of light. It caught the air, and then fell and dissipated.

"It shouldn't hurt her, but it would cost magic crystals." Alpha Gunter said, "So each cast would be costly."

Ha! Was that all they had? I knew for a fact that Night Leaf owned no such treasure! Where would they even find magic crystals? It's not like they grew on trees.

"Were there any in the loot we got from Fount's Tower?" Bell asked Ki.

"No, but those crystals... we do have them." Ki answered with his usual smile, "Please give me a moment to fetch them."

Wait, we did? I followed Ki into the house and to me room? Eh? WTH!

Ki went directly to the hidden room where my treasures were supposed to be stored. I had assumed the space would be an empty room, so I was rather surprised to find a large pot with a single small tree covered in white roses under a pendant grow light hung on the ceiling.

It took me a moment to recognize it as the rose sapling that Haiku had made grow and given to me as a meeting gift. Back then, it was just a small branch with new roots and a few white buds that he grew from the single rose plucked out from a vase, but now it was a small tree with large tea cup sized roses. And all around it, tiny crystals fallen from the flowers. Wait, the flowers cried tears of magic crystal? This kind of overpowered poetic magic - I should have known a first meeting gift that Heller had to match with an heirloom blade and scabbard set would not be a simple plant.

Each crystal tear was tiny and delicate, like a diamond stud - just like the one Alpha Gunter flicked to cast the spirit capture spell. OMG. My wolves had the ammo now. And it wasn't just the ones on the ground. Ki didn't even bother with it, he simply reached up to the shelf where there were a handful of mason jars filled with tiny magic stones. I was going to be so dead. Ki picked up a single jar, the one that was only half full, and then he brought it down to the Alphas waiting on our front porch.

Meanwhile, there was another problem. Ben and the special wolves had assembled on our drive way. I saw now that their gear were goggles and body cams. Oh, you've geared up with technology to catch me, nicely played. But Ben did not know one very important fact about my special wolves - at least half of them were afraid of ghosts!

"She's there, beta!" Barry pointed.

"She's really a g...ghost!" Torque started freaking out immediately.

Hahaha, I didn't hesitate, pelting them with waterbombs.

"F***! Sam! When I get my hands on you!" Ben yelled shaking his fists.

I laughed at flew in closer to bomb him a few more times. Then I decided to bomb everyone else on the porch.

"She's going for the alphas!" Barry realized.

"Protect our guests!" Beta Lucas ordered, jumping up front. But I wasn't aiming for our guests. Muahahaha!

"Hoi hoi! We're being creamed here!" EJ bounced up and down taking the hits for Dad. Grrr... I smashed one directly into his face so the blue ink impeded his view. This gave me two seconds to get a few through and onto Dad. Muahahaha! So fun!

I bombed on EVERYONE! On Dad for going along with the other alphas. I mean, of all people, I had expected more from you Dad! How dare you regret! How dare you try to change! Pelt pelt pelt.

Beta Lucas tried to block for Dad so I helped him. Pelt pelt pelt.

On Bell because he was a dumbbell. How dare you insert a life link WITHOUT TELLING ME? But you liked to do whatever without telling anyone don't you? Now you've made a mess all over the continent. Grrrr... I'm so mad at how you always take things in your hands, step in and do whatever you please! What made me the maddest was how even now I couldn't make myself bomb him.

No, Sam, harden your heart and DO IT! Pelt pelt pelt.

And Ki, how dare you volunteer to be a sacrifice! I didn't save your life for something stooopid like this. Pelt pelt pelt.

And Harvey, how dare you always act perfect in front of me! Pelt pelt...

It was at this moment, that my good beta took the opportunity to flick a tiny crystal in my direction. OMG! I forgot! Even though he couldn't see me, Morning Light warriors were trained to return fire!

"Spirit bind." Trust my good beta to calmly execute the spell just like that!

The net spread out from above me, and I had been too caught up in the commotion to be cautious and now there was no where to run, but down.

Here goes nothing! I let my ghost sink underground, and quite by my lucky sense of direction popped out in our basement.

Whew, that was too close!

But fun. That was incredibly fun. I headed back up to my bathroom to reload. Being in ghost form was very convenient because I could go directly up the floors and through the walls.

Once my bag was full, I snuck around back to avoid detection by Ben's cameras and started my own little game of peekabomb. It was pretty fun because no one could see me, so their reaction at finding a water bomb in their face and then their bewilderment at not finding the culprit was hilarious.

In case you were wondering. I didn't hit on just every male wolf I met. I was very selective. I mean, at first I just threw it at the first wolf I recognized, but Jonah's reaction was just to look stunned and confused for a moment before completely ignoring it! I bombed him a couple more times in his yard and then decided not to waste anymore bombs on him.

Gamma Harry was funnier. He had yelled, "Jonah! If that's you and Ben, you boys are in big trouble!"

And then Laura rushed out to the porch, "Oh dear! Your suit!"

Jonah came over causing Laura to gasp, "My goddess! What have the both of you be doing? Quickly! Come in and change your shirts!"

It's like we've all turned Lorent and had to wear suits at home now, except our suits were all black. Why was everyone in formal darks today? So weird.

I chanced upon Nix and his hyena brothers and bombed him. Then I neatly placed a bomb in Ethan's hand.

"What?" Ethan looked completely shocked at finding the water bomb in his own hand.

"Ethan you f***ing idiot!" Nix turned red under the blue.

"Aiyhahahahahahaha..." Ethan wanted to explain or at least run away, but he started laughing too hard.

I gave Marlow a few and then I left some on the ground and the three of them managed to completely turn each other blue.

"Oh, my suit is ruined." Nix grumbled.

Which was weird, because Nix, Marlow, and Ethan were all in black suits too.

"Ah, this is bad." Marlow checked his watch, "We're going to be late for the funeral."

The funeral? That better not be my funeral! It did explain all the wolves in dark suits though.

I decided to go back home to reload, and maybe figure out what was going on.

I reached just in time to see everyone on the porch of the Alpha House again. To my relief, this time Ben and the others were without their cameras.

And everyone was in formal mourning attire. Dark suits, jackets, dresses... I could tell they've changed their shirts, but hahaha, the blue stain left quite an impression that couldn't be scrubbed off.

I covered my mouth seeing Dad and Beta Lucas blue faced in their formal suits. My betas too were a sight for sore eyes. Hahahahaha... So fun.

Opps, better stay out of sight - at least from Sabre. But it wasn't hard. She was very short and amongst the other grown ups, it wasn't like she could see very much.

I just needed to be a little careful and keep my distance.

"Where are the cars?" Beta Lucas demanded.

Ben was frowning over his mindlink, but he answered, "Dave said something has happened. I'm going to the garage to look."

Oh! I couldn't stop the smile. Yes, let's all go to the garage shall we?
