(Unedited)

Ares collapsed in pain, his back and left shoulder being torn all bloody, a purplish hue spreading from the wounds. His body spasmed painfully as he began to loose the feeling in his body.

Behind him, Lapras had retaliated, while Lucario ran to his side, covering all of them in a thick aura barrier.

Glazig past Lucario, who tried to hold him steady, Ares saw the hateful figure of Hunter J.

She was soaking wet, flying atop of her Salamence as her Drapion clamped its bloodies stingers.

They were ambushed.

The life energy around them had dulled their senses enough to oversee their opponent.

Hunter J. looked down at them in triumph, the cannon on her hand pointed towards Ares. If she had pointed it at his pokemon, the beam could easily be dodged, yet with Ares injured as he was now, that possibility had completely disappeared.

"As I said, my prey never escapes my grasp."

Behind her, men in uniform appeared from the waterway. They weren't the usual team Rocket grunts, as all of them wore camouflaged clothing. Goggles and re-breathers were equiped, while Mightyena were called out to surround Ares and his pokemon.

Seeing the disapraging situation he found himself in, Ares returned Lapras, afraid she would suffer the same fate as the Magikarp.

Clenching his fist painfully, he could feel the blood pool beneath his feet. It was sticky and warm, his wounds throbbing painfully. It was as if he could feel his heartbeat leaving his fingers, slowing down with every beat.

Hunter J. didn't seem to tarry any longer, the cannon on her arm lighting up as a beam of light was powering up. If she waited any longer, her target would die of bloodloss. That would be a loss on her side, as he pay would disappear along with Ares's life.

As her cannon was fired, Ares called back Lucario, the latters piercing eyes staring at Ares in worry, even as his was sucked inside of his pokeball.

Closing his eyes, Ares waited as the beam made contact, feeling his body go rigid, until all his thoughts faded away.

Standing in front of her petrified quarry, Hunter J. prepared to put him in a stasis pod, ready to be put on a capsule to transport it. Yet a bright light blinded her.

Two small plated in the young man's stone fingers lit up, energy pooling from it as the vegetation around them went haywire. Roots sprang up from the ground, bursting through the stone walls, machinery and smashed the growing crowd aside.

The light coagulated, the plants forming a protective barrier around it.

As the sensor in her goggles showed increased energy ratings, breaking as it passed the limit, Hunter J. was soon blinded, covering her eyes with her arm.

When the light disappeared, so did the figure of the young man in the stasis pod.

The whole pod had disappeared, taking her quarry with it.

Staring at the misformed plant structure in front of her, Hunter J. gnashed her teeth, throwing her glasses in anger at the ground. The glass broke even more than it already had, sparks of electricity flying everywhere.

Her prey managed to get away.

Her perfect record was down the drain.

With all the energy readings back to normal, there wasn't anything for her to track, leaving the hunt as a failure.

Standing there in silence for a minute, she turned abruptly, making her subordinates freeze, waiting for her orders.

"The request has fallen through. Retreat."

"Yes sir!"

They yelled as they scurried about, cleaning up the machinery, as all of them began to return to the ship waiting for them outside of Mt. Silver.

As they a left, Hunter J. sent a short message to Archer, informing the latter of the termination, as well as the return of the deposit money. It was time to move on and find new prey. That Moltress should still be near. If she tracked it, she could sell it for a decent sum, enough to cover the expenses from the current expedition.

Following her men, Hunter J. left.

Everything became serene again, as the pokemon returned, as if nothing had happened at all.

In a flash of light, a strange machine appeared in a lone palace.

The king sitting on his throne stared down at the sudden appearance of this foreign object. Inside of it was a statue of a young man, one made of a stone like substance.

The statue sporten more than a light injury, as it showed a pained expression.

At his side were his two sons, still young, having entered their teenage years.

The throne room buzzed in a clamor, as the knights stepped forward, their swords drawn as they neared the strange device. Their trusted pokemon, a well organized group of Bisharp, stayed close at their side, ready to defend from stray attacks and retaliate.

Yet nothing happened.

Even when they stood in front of it, nothing happened.

Curious by the sight, the two princes stepped forward, ignoring the frightened exclamation of the king and queen.

Approaching in front of it, they noticed the foreign alien contraption on the machine.

As the youngest prince was curious, he began to touch it, fumbling with everything he could touch.

As he began to lose interest, something fascinating happened.

One of the buttons seemed to trigger something, as the statue seemed to come to life, the machine breaking apart as the heavily injured youth fell to the ground in an unconscious state, blood flowing freely, causing the queen to collapse from the sight.

The knights froze due to the sudden change, while the young princes called loudly for a healer, the breath of the youth getting weaker and weaker. The only thing delaying it being the pulsating plates, seemingly stuck to the youth's skin as they began to lose their luster.

The only being noticing the odd energy, being the towering figure of a majestic pokemon standing behind the king. Its monochrome figure staring down at the youth who had come from a different period of time.
