Chapter 97: Their Argument Over a Cursed Present

Back at the current timeline.

Zen just finished telling Anastasia about how he and Rupert got to where they were now. 

She remained quiet throughout his narration, listening attentively despite her inscrutable demeanor. That could either be a good or bad thing. At this point, he doesn't know how to interpret any of her reactions.

"So, you... fled from the fortress?" Anastasia finally started after a moment of silence between them.   

"Fled, huh... Yeah. That's a more appropriate term. I'm more or less a fugitive for two years now," Zen muttered lowly as he cast down his gaze.

"What would happen if this place got found out? What would they do to you? To Rupert too?"
