Chapter 37: Yan's Spirit
At the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan's headquarters, a man landed near its doors.
The guards quickly recognized the man as they already were waiting for him. They bowed with respect towards the man and quickly opened the door for him to pass. A servant already prepared to guide him over the clan.
"Are you here to visit your granddaughter again, Old Poison" Gu Rong appeared from nowhere and stopped the man in the middle of his way.
"Why would I come if not for her?" Dugu Bo scoffed "Are you going to work as that kid bodyguard again?"
"It's strange, but that little monster specifically said that he didn't want any guard this time." Gu Rong explained.
"Why?" Dugu Bo glanced with distrust at Gu Rong 'What are they thinking?'
"Who knows?" Gu Rong shrugged his shoulders with a laid-back air.
"Are you sure to follow that kid's words?" Dugu Bo inquired. If anything he could take Yan and escape from the clan for only to attack it later. With his poison he might not be able to directly fight against its Titled Douluos guards, but he would be able to dispose of a big number of members without even the need to appear.
"Yes, at least for now, he had shown as sincerity and goodwill, not giving reason to doubt him" Gu Rong answered "Anyway, shouldn't you be happy to have some time alone with your precious granddaughter?"
"Hm!" Dugu Bo scoffed, turning away from Gu Rong and continuing his way towards a side building over the clan, Gu Rong disappearing from his place.
As Dugu Bo arrived at the building where his granddaughter was staying, he carefully examined his surroundings "It seems that they truly didn't lie" He could detect the usual guard and servants around him but in no way the appearance of Chen Xin or Gu Rong "What are they planning?" He asked himself confused and a little worried that something happened to Yan.
Finally entering the building and crossing it, arriving at the usual balcony where they met before, Dugu Bo's eyes went wide as he saw the shocking scene.
In front of him, there were two people, Yan and Haotian. They were over a little tea table where three chairs were already prepared, however, they only occupied one. Haotian was sat on a chair while Yan sat over his lap while she gave Haotian a piece of cake to eat. Adorning Yan's face, there was a big smile and an adoring gaze as she looked at Haotian.
"What are you doing?" Dugu Bo inquired with a confused look in his face.
"Grandpa!" Yan finally realized Dugu Bo's arrival. She blushed a little and quickly stood up.
"What happened to you, Yan-Yan!?" Dugu Bo shouted, his eyes going even wider as he now closely looked at his granddaughter. It has only passed 4 days since the last time they met, but she had changed a great deal.
Respect 4 days before, Yan was a little taller, her body was more defined and had become a little more mature, but there weren't big changes as unlike with the other girls that were younger, Yan was already 16 years old, close to 17, so she was more developed and less flexible to change.
The biggest change that could be easily seen was her hair that had changed from a red color to a teal one, it also seemed brighter and livelier, resembling overflowing poison itself.
However, what shocked Dugu Bo the most was the aura around her. He could feel that it had completely transformed. Dugu Bo could feel an intense poisonous aura that could even threaten himself. For what, he could feel Yan's poison had escalated to a new level, expanding all over her body and completely fusing with her, becoming a mass of poison.
"Are you okay, Yan-Yan?!" Dugu Bo asked worriedly. If the Jade Phosphor Serpent's poison was slowly killing her, this new poison was able to instantly killing her.
"You don't need to worry, grandpa." Yan smiled brightly as a highly poisonous violet mist appeared over her. Then, being commanded by her, the mist started dancing around her, finally disappearing with a swift move of her hand "I have it completely in control."
"H-how could it be?!" Dugu Bo asked shocked.
"I had already told you, Old Poison" Haotian was the one to asked "With the actual circumstances, I was able to heal her. To do such, I was able to help her evolve her spirit" Haotian turned to Yan "Show it, Yanyan."
"Of course, m-" Dugu Yan quickly stopped before saying master. She knew to only call him that when they were alone "Haotian."
Yan activated her spirit, the air around her becoming denser as a green mist formed around her. Unlike with her previous spirit that transformed her legs into a serpent's tail, now she kept her human form, but black-green scales appeared all over her body as 4 spirit rings manifested under her.
"SHRRRRRRR!" Her spirit shrieked resounding all over the room. A massive and oppressive serpent with 9 heads appeared over her. Dugu Bo gulped as he could himself being suppressed by it even when their cultivation was so different.
"It's called Phosphor Hydra. It had ultimate poison as its attribute and complete control over poison" Yan explained as the heads of the serpent danced around her "With it, I have full control over my own or any poison, not needing to worry more about it."
In the original novel, Tang San's healing method was to focus the poison over a spirit bone, keeping it away from the body while healing it. However, this method was the complete opposite, the venom has extended all over Yan's body, becoming one with her. However, with the evolution of her spirit, her control and body became stronger, being capable to easily control it.
Of course, this way the power had been increased several folds, not only due to the evolution of his spirit but the poison would grow much stronger as part of her body that being contained over a spirit bone, being frightened by it.
Dugu Bo finally calmed himself a little. He was truly amazed by such a strong spirit and control over poison. If what he thought was right, he will be unable to win against her once she became a Spirit Sage, even as a Spirit Emperor she might have an opportunity.
"How did you do it?!" Dugu Bo asked eagerly to Yan and Haotian.
"It's a secret" Yan smiled as she hugged Haotian's arm.
Dugu Bo wanted to ask more but Haotian talked before "Like she said is a secret, but in any case, the same method couldn't be replicated by you, so it's useless for you to know about."
Dugu Bo really wanted to know, but he let it go, trusting his daughter. Instead, he focused on Haotian's and Yan's interactions "Are you dating now, kid?" Dugu Bo glanced at Haotian.
"Yes, grandpa" Yan was the one that answered "I have fallen in love with Haotian. I don't know how could I have been so blind. He is strong, cunning, intelligent, handsome... He is simply perfect and I even owe my life to him for curing me of my poison."
"Better said" Yan approached Dugu Bo, stretching her hand and reaching Dugu Bo's hair "Curing us." With a simple touch, the green-colored hair due to years of poison returned to his natural brown color.
"I'm unable to cure it immediately, but with enough time I'm sure that I can even heal you, grandpa" Yan said smiled.
Dugu Bo froze in the place, shocked by everything that happened, the control over his own poison demonstrating that Yan truly had it under control, she was cured. He and his granddaughter could be healed?
Dugu Bo hugged Yan between arms "I'm really glad. Finally, this curse is lifted" He said with even some tears in his eyes.
Dugu Bo released Yan and turned to Haotian, he bowed his head "Truly thank you. Especially after all that I did to you. I'm really sorry for everything. If you want anything from me, don't doubt it, I will accept it."
Haotian lightly nodded "About my relation with Yan."
"Of course, there's no need to even ask. I accept it. I give you my best rewards and my permission to take her as your fiance or wife, even if you have others like that sword girl" Dugu Bo answered "It's not so strange for the strong to have more than one woman. But promise me that you will protect her."
"I promise" Haotian put his hand over his heart "I will protect Yan over my spirit." His spirit was very related to Yan now, so it was natural for him to protect her.
"Good" Dugu Bo nodded "You don't want anything else?"
"I'll also want access to your medical garden" Haotian requested.
"Okay. I will give you full access, letting you harvest any plant in there" Dugu Bo quickly accepted. It wasn't much, Haotian already knew the garden's location and could even cross the formation, so he could always sneakily enter. Rather than move out all his medical garden to another place, he preferred to share it with him.
"Thanks" Haotian smiled 'Now I have full access to the Yin and Yang Ice Fire Well.'
They continued talking about the changes and what would they do in the future. They decided that they trust each one enough, letting Yan return to the academy but as she wanted to be with Haotian, she would join as part of the Prince Team, the Prince Team quickly turning stronger than the Emperor Team.
After some hours, Dugu Bo finally left, leaving the couple alone.
"Did all go as you wanted, master?" Yan asked with respect.
"Yes" Haotian nodded "All went too well" He sighed "All my plans again to the toilet. I might truly have plot armor. Should I stop thinking and let destiny choose?"
Haotian shook his head and turned towards Yan "I already explained everything to Fengzhi. Let's return to the academy." Haotian offered his hand.
"Yes, master!" Yan said with a smile taking Haotian's hand.

VdV I was doubting about making Yan's spirit a hydra or Medusa. But in the end, I choose the hydra. I might have some uses later for Medusa's form.
Also, with this, the 4th volume finishes. To tell you the truth, this was the less prepared volume. I had firstly thought only about escape from the Ice Fire Well, rape Yan and calm Dugu Bo. But in the end, i thought about everything with the Seven Treasure Clan and the plans and interactions and I really liked it, so I tried to use it.
I hope you liked and didn't seem to forced.
