I immediately broke down into tears, cupping my face with my hands, screaming into my palms. After 10 minutes of balling my eyes out, I decided to take a walk in the garden the hospital owns.
Chapter 3• Yoon Byeol
Jimin POV
7th March (Friday), 10:46 AM
I walked to the garden, sitting down on the soft grass, resting my arms behind me, supporting my body. I closed my eyes feeling the wind blowing calmly on my face, brushing my bangs. Then I heard running. I opened my eyes to see a girl running towards the lake. I widened my eyes and quickly ran towards her. "Yah! Be careful!" Fortunately I pulled her hand just in time before she fell into the water. I pulled her a little too hard and we both fell to the ground with her on top of me.

Yoon Byeol POV
7th March (Friday), 10:43 AM
I heard the door of my room open and close. I turned towards the sound. "Unnie? Is that you?" I asked. "Byeol-ahh!" I smiled hearing the cheerful voice ringing in my ears. "What are you doing here, unnie?" I asked my one and only friend, Suzy.
"It's my break time so I came to see you." By the sound of her tone, I know that she was grinning from ear to ear. "What a great timing! I wanted to go to the garden at the back because I was missing the grass being under my feet." I said while wiggling my toes. Suzy chuckles.
"Sure let's get going."
I heard her footsteps coming over to my hospital bed and helped me get up. If you're wondering why do I need help, I'm actually blind.
~Flashback~
"Byeol-ah!"
"Yes, eomma?" I replied, running down the stairs.
"Could you go buy some groceries for us? I forgot to buy some on my way back from work." She said. "Yeah, sure." I said, going to get a jacket so I won't catch a cold in the cool night. I headed out to the supermarket near our home. It was almost 11pm so there weren't a lot of cars. Me being a rebel, I crossed the road when the cross light was still red. All of a sudden I heard beeping and a shine of light flashed, blinding my eyes. I wasn't able to react quick enough and...
CRASH
The only thing I saw was someone slightly tapping my face. Then it went black.
I woke up to beeping sounds but I couldn't see. I tried to move but my body hurts so much. "Oh you're awake." An unfamiliar voice rang in my ears. "Who are you? Where am I? Why is everything black?" My voice was quivered, not knowing what was happening to me at that moment. "You're in a hospital. I'm Bae Suzy, the daughter of this hospital's chief and a worker here." She said calmly. "Why can't I see anything?" I repeated the question, on the verge of tears. Suzy sighed. "You lost your vision due to the car crash." I froze in disbelief. "No, no it can't be!" I shouted, my lips quivering.
I heard the door of my hospital room open. I didn't even bother to look who it was. "Byeol-ah?" A soothing and familiar voice broke the silence. I slowly sat up. "Eo-eomma?" "Oh my goodness what happened to you?" It didn't sound like she was worried about me, and I was confused but didn't question her about it. I stayed silent. She sighed. "I have an important meeting now, so I'll have to go. I'll come and take you back when you've recovered okay?" I nodded. Then I heard her footsteps walking away from me and the door opening and closing.
~End of Flashback~
That was 4 years ago and I've never heard her voice again. I've been staying at this very hospital ever since. We tried to find my mom but she has moved houses and changed her contact number, so we couldn't reach her. Suzy pitied me since I was just
14 years old back then. As the hospital chief's daughter, Suzy was able to persuade her dad to let me stay till I find a place to live in on my own.
