Chapter 6: ~Chapter Five~ The Field Trip
Jake followed me back to my car. I had been at his house 7pm-10pm. It was late.I had stayed for so long. Gregory talked about Jacob's childhood, I felt he already thought of me as part of the family. So did Rose and Emily. They were calm and kind towards me. Paul and the others were the ones I was worried about. They were starring at me with angry, but frightened eyes. Me and Jake held hands as we came to a stop at the passenger door side. I turned to face him and he looked down at me. Jake was tall. So, fucking tall. He was at least 6"1 or something. He was huge. He narrowed his eyes to look at me and then at our hands. "Are you sure Paul and the others don't hate me?" I asked him as he chuckled. "I'm positive." He said looking up at me caressing my cheek and I leaned against his warm big hand and closed my eyes. "Drive back safely." I heard him say as I opened my eyes. I smiled."I will." He softly side-smiled. He slowly took my hand he was holding and placed it on his warm cheek. "I really don't want you to leave..." He said as he closed his eyes."Jake, you'll be able to see me in like 8 hours." I reminded him. It was only 10pm right now. "That's too long.." I rolled my eyes with a soft smile. He looked down at me and looked at my eyes. I sighed. "What?" He asked. "Come here." I said motioning for him to kiss me."I'd thought you'd never ask.." He said with a wide grin.
He leaned towards me. As he pulled my waist against his warm muscular body. I felt his other hand creep up my cheek. I placed my hands on his chest leaning against it. Our lips touched. As we made out for those few seconds. We then leaned away slowly. I chuckled. "What?" Jake looked at me with a smirk. "Let's hope non of the boys saw that." I said as I leaned back. Jake grabbed my hand. "Be safe on your way back." He reminded me with worried eyes. "I will. Don't worry." I said as I hugged him around his torso and he hugged my shoulders kissing the top of my head.I leaned back. As he held my hand. "I'll see you in the morning." I said with a smile. "I'll wait for you." He said as he softly smiled. I then slowly let go of our hands and went into the drivers seat. I saw him follow me as I opened the driver's door, he held it for me. I glanced at him and he smiled. I returned it with a soft one. I don't know what it was about Jake but I'd begin to feel a magnetic pull towards him. It was like something out of a damn romance movie. I felt like we did belong together. He couldn't wait til morning. And I wanted to be with him more than anything. Like a bear wouldn't be able to stop me to get to him. As I sat in the driver's seat I turned the key into ignition. The car started. I quickly glanced at Jake as he leaned against the open car door frame and kissed my lips once more. "Make sure your head-lights are on." He said with a serious tone. He was trying to keep me safe. Which I liked. I smiled with a reply "I will." Jake smiled as he leaned back as he closed the door for me. I could still see him smile as I revved away. Within the few minutes I drove through the dirt road and swerved through the forest of trees I could see out of the corner of my eye something moving with faster speed.
I looked ahead of the road but I also looked at the forest around me. The moving figure was on my side of the woods. It was a big shape for a dog. I was thinking a wolf, maybe? As I kept driving the wolf continued to catch up. For some reason I felt the reason why it was racing with me. It wanted to know I was safe. As long as it didn't try coming after my new car I didn't mind it's presence. I've been in love with wolves since I found out about them. I was 3 or 4 when I had a deep love passion for wolves. As I kept driving for a few more minutes, I still saw the huge wolf figure. As I got home I parked the car in front of the house in the drive way. I turned the key and the engine turned off. I took off my seat belt and opened the car door closing it behind. I then walked towards the front of my car and leaned my butt against it looking up towards the full moon. it was beautiful. The moonlight rays shining down on every part of the trees and surrounding objects. We had forest trees on the left side of the house where I was parked. I looked towards the side and could see the shadow outline of the wolf. I could clearly see it was a huge majestic creature. The moonlight shined down on it's fur.It had light brown fur. The moonlight hit his eyes. As I looked at them. I saw that they were satisfied I was safe. I smiled. For some reason the furry creature resembled Jake. His eyes were narrowed but soft at the same time. As I starred at the wolf, longer than usual. I was just mesmerized by it's presence I reminded myself I had to go in. It was already late as it was and mom would have a panic attack. I locked the car with the keys and headed for the door. I glanced back at the wolf and it was still there. I then turned to open the door with the key. As I turned the house key in the keyhole, I opened the door. I took one last glance back at the forest but the majestic creature was gone. I looked at my surroundings and found he was no longer here. He either left or was still around. I felt that, even though the huge wolf was just an animal. That Wolf was my guardian. At least me and Jake's Guardian. He wanted me safe and sound at home. Hopefully this was Jake's way of sending me a spiritual wolf guardian angel. I softly chuckled at the thought as I headed inside locking the door behind me.
In the morning, I quickly took a shower and dressed up in winter clothes. I wore a white cotton sweater, white skinny jeans that were sorta thick on the inside. Those kept me warm in winter. I then wore full on White Converse. I wore my hair down. I obviously wore makeup. But I didn't go too heavy. I went neutral. I then went into my room and grabbed my red suitcase and my red duffel bag. I packed clothes that would literally last me a year at the resort. I didn't know which outfits to pack so I just made an outfit for everyday and packed them in the red suitcase. My suitcase was so damn huge I could honestly chop up a human and tell people there were huge Gucci bags in there instead. Anyways, I put all my clothes and under garments in the large red suitcase and in the duffel bag went in my necessities, toiletries, and my makeup. After I was done. I made sure to bring my small red backpack I had packed inside my larger one. I put my red iPhone charger in there. I put my phone in my right butt pocket and headed down stairs with my backpack on and duffel bag thrown over my right shoulder and my suitcase trailing behind. As I made my way downstairs mom and Kyle were down there waiting for me.
"You have everything mija? No se te quedo nada? You didn't leave anything?" Mom asked. I rolled my eyes. I went over the list millions upon millions of times. "Ma! Ya lo ese varias veces! Mom, I've gone through it enough times!" I said softly whining. Mom sighed. "Okay mija, let's get you to school." Mom said as we all headed out towards the car. As we drove to school the parking lot was almost filled when we saw one open stop near the school entrance. It was 4 rows down. After mom parked and I grabbed everything. "Pórtate bien mija. Please be good. And make sure to call me when you get there and settle into your room!Por favor? Please??" Mom said as I nodded. "No te preocupes mama. Te voy a llamar. Si me demoro en llamar te no de estrenes. Don't worry Mom. I'll call. Even if I'm late on calling you. I'll call you as soon as possible. But don't strain yourself. Please." I said as mom smiled walking towards me and hugging me tightly. "I'm gonna miss you baby." I heard mom say as she leaned back. "Ima miss you too mama." I said kissing her cheek as she did mine. "I'm gonna miss you sis. Who am I gonna play Friday the 13th with now that your gonna be gone for 3 months?" Kyle said as I laughed. "You could teach mom." I suggested as they both laughed. Kyle walked towards me and embraced me. "I'm gonna miss you sis. This is the longest we've ever gone without you." He said muffled by my shoulder. I smiled as we leaned back from each other. "And that is when Skype was invented!" I said as they looked surprised. "I set up a skype account on Kyle's computer last night. That way you can call me on video whenever you want." I said as they smiled at me. I glanced over at the school entrance and saw Jacob with the boys. His eyes landed on me and smiled. I softly smiled back. "Ma, I need to go. I'll call you as soon as I get there okay?" I said as I hugged both of them quickly. "Alright mija! Always be with Jacob! No te separes de el!! Mija! Don't separate from him!!" Mom yelled from behind me. I glanced over and nodded as I walked up towards the entrance I saw Jake and Seth walk run up to me. "Here, I'll help you carry that." Jake said as he grabbed my duffel bag and Seth grabbed my suitcase. "Thanks you two. But, you don't have to do that." I said as they smiled. "It's always a pleasure to help the ladies." Seth said as we all laughed. We then went towards the back of the bus. The luggage was loaded under the bus. Once my luggage was taken care of. "Let's go ahead and find a seat." Jake said as Me, and Seth followed. "I'm gonna sit with the boys. You two find a seat, okay?" Seth said as he ran into the bus in search of a seat with the boys. "So, how long is the trip from here to the resort?" I asked Jacob as he turned to look at me with a smile. "Its about 30 minutes. It'll take longer if the snows thick though." He said with a wide grin.He was being happy about something. " Jake, why do you have that mischievous looking grin on your face?" I asked him, smiling innocently, while burning with curiosity. He side-smiled. "We get to be stuck together, and sit together while being on the bus. What more could I have asked for?" He says cheerfully. I softly chuckle. He grabbed my hand as we headed into the bus. We went straight to the back and on our left was an empty two- seat. "Ladies first." He said with a soft smile guiding me to the window seat as he sat down next to me. It took the teachers a few minutes to get everyone seated and situated before the bus driver actually drove. On our way, the green forests actually changed into forests covered in snow to snow covered fields. I smiled at the scenery change. Within the 15 minutes in the drive. I looked towards Jake who was softly smiling at me. "The snow should thicken on our way over there." Jake said cracking a smile, as he stared at me with soft eyes. "Oh yea? And how would you know?" I asked in disbelief of what he was saying. I cracked up a smile though. Whenever I'm around Jake I can't help but smile. "I've witnessed this part of the north enough to know that the snow is gonna thicken from here on out." Jake said as I then turned back onto the snow. I wouldn't mind being stuck with Jake. I'd be stuck with him for eternity if it meant being with him and spending my entire life with him. I would do it. I wanted to be with him every chance I got. I had to smile at the thought. "Do you like being with me that much?" Jake said teasingly. I glanced at him with a smile and and quickly nodded looking at the snowy outdoors. I could see a pack of wolves. Running through the snow. I felt Jake look out the window with me because I could feel his face presence on the side of my face. "Their beautiful..." I mumbled as Jake chuckled. "You like wolves?" He asked glancing at me. I nodded. "I've been fascinated by them since the age of 3 through 4." I replied. I was so mesmerized by how they ran. How they were so free. "What makes them so fascinating?" He asked not looking away from me. "The way they run..." I paused. "Their just so free..." I said narrowing my eyes to get a closer look. There were some pups with the older wolves. I'm guessing it was a pack family. I could hear Jake crack a smile. I then leaned back on my chair and so did Jake but he didn't keep his eyes off me for long. He put an arm around my shoulder. I leaned into his shoulder. "Didn't get enough sleep?" He asked. I nodded. "I had to...yawn...get started on a list last night before continuing to make a list this morning." I said as I snuggled into Jacob's chest. "What time did you go to bed?" "10:50pm..." I said closing my eyes. "What time did you wake up?" "11:50pm..." I mumbled. I heard Jake sigh. "I'll wake you up when we're there. Get some sleep." He said as I drifted off into sweet sweet sleep.
"We're here." I heard Jake say as I shot up."Ow..." I said as I placed my face into my hands. Jacob chuckled. "Damn, I didn't know you were that excited." I looked up at him as I regained from my head-ache. "Oof... please remind me to never to do that ever again." I said as he stood up from his seat and onto the nearly clear alley way in the bus. "Dully noted." He said cracking a smile as he helped me up. As we exited the bus we went straight to the back to grab our luggage. I grabbed mine which Jake helped to carry. And then Jake got his. It was a black backpack. We then went to the registration where they would tell us what room I was in. Once I got the room number and key. We headed up to my room which was on the second floor. We took the elevator which I had to huddle Jake, as we stepped inside. "Not a fan of elevators?" He asked looking down at me as I nodded. "I hate being in enclosed spaces..." I replied as he put an arm around my shoulders. "Don't worry I'll protect you from this horrible dooms day machinery." He said in a low husky voice teasing me. I sighed and hugged his torso. Once we were out of harms way we walked into a hallway of rooms. We went straight down towards the end of the hallway and made a left. I opened the door with the room key and Jake put the suitcase and duffel bag on the edge of the bed. "You okay?" He asked in a low husky worried voice. Looking at me with worry filled in his eyes. I nodded. "I'll be with the boys outside if you need me. Or you can call me." I nodded again looking at Jacob as he walked towards me embracing me in a hug. He kissed my forehead as he wrapped his arms around my shoulders and I wrapped my arms around his torso."I'll be out to join you guys in a few. I have roommates. I wanna help them get situated before doing anything." I said looking up at Jake who smiled while he pecked my lips. "Your roommates are lucky to have you." Jake said in the low husky toned voice as he caressed my cheek. I smiled. "I'm lucky I have you..." I said as his smile widened. He started to laugh. "You love me!" He teased. "Jacob! Shoo! The boys are gonna wonder where your at! Go!" I said shooing him out of the room. He laughed as I playfully pushed him out of the room. He barely moved. "Jake!-" I shouted being cut off my him kissing me again this time was longer. I relaxed into the kissed before he finally broke the kiss. He smiled walking off looking at me waving. Leaving me speechless. I sighed in annoyance. I then saw Abby and Samantha at my door with no luggage. "Hey!" I said softly as I greeted them with hugs. "What happened to your luggage?" I asked them. They looked guilty. "What happened?" I asked again. "We're gonna be spending the rest of our time here with our boyfriends." Samantha said. "We're staying in their rooms." Abby said biting her lip smiling. I softly smiled. "Awww!! You guys!" I hugged them. "Will you be fine on your own??" Abby asked. I nodded. "I'll be fine. You girls have fun. Text me how it goes. Okay?" I asked they nodded. "We love you Ave!" They both say as they quickly hug me and walk out the door. I then take a seat on the edge of the bed and think. I'm gonna be alone for 3 months. Jesus... what has the world come to. I then decided to pull out my phone and tell mom I was here and situated in my room. She then texted back within seconds saying that I should have verified a little sooner but it was fine and to have fun and take lots of pictures. I sighed. I decided to put on a Black overcoat from my red- suitcase and walk outside.
Once outdoors, I looked at the white field of snow. It was at least 40 yards. I was in an area near some woods. I decided to walk around and see what I would stumble upon. Within a matter of seconds I could hear a dog whimpering. I decided to listen closely to the direction of the noise. I then followed it into the woods. I could hear it getting closer as I ran towards it. There in the middle of the snow near a tree was a bleeding wolf pup. My instinct was to get to it, protect it and then take it back to my room and nurse it. As soon as I ran towards it I saw a black huge wolf jump out from behind the bushes I stumbled backwards crawling away from it and towards the the injured pup. Once I got to the wolf pup.I then looked in the direction of the black wolf. But, instead I saw the light brown fur of the wolf from before, springing in front of me defensively keeping the black wolf away from me. I heard growling come from the brown wolf and the black wolf snarled. I held onto the pup as I grabbed him gently placing him in my lap. I took off my over coat and placed it on the pup. I looked at the huge wolves. Within seconds they were fighting. They were both at each others throats. But in a split second the brown one and the black wolf disappeared behind some bushes and trees. I heard a loud yelp. After a few seconds I saw the brown wolf come out of the bush and turn into Jake. My eyes widened as he came running towards me. "Are you okay?" He asked worriedly out of breathe as I blinked rapidly 3 times before responding. "Uh...Yea, I'm fine. This puppy is the one who needs medical attention." I said showing him the pup covered up in my over coat. He looked down at the pup then at me. "Ave, you'll freeze to death." He said as he took off his leather jacket and put it over my shoulders. I saw he had a small cut on his lower lip. "Jake, you got cut." I said motioning towards his lip. "I'll be fine. I need to get you two out of here." Jake said as he helped me up and guided me into the resort. I covered up the pup.
So, no one would see it. Animals weren't allowed at the resort. Jake and I quickly went up the steps to the second floor and went straight down to the end of the hall and turned left. "Wait, what about your roommates?" Jake asked as I turned around to face him."Their with their boyfriends for the rest of the month. I highly doubt they'll come into this room with all their luggage in their boyfriend's rooms." I said as I opened the door with the room key. Once we were in. Jake closed the door behind us. I laid the puppy on the edge of the bed and uncovered it. I laid the over-coat on a chair nearby. "I'm gonna start a fire." Jake said as I glanced back at him and he grabbed a match from his pocket and threw it into the fire place as it burned the wood inside. He crouched down. He then looked at me standing up. "I need a first aid kit. It's in my red bag." I said pointing over to the windowsill where my bag stood. Jake walked over to it. "Are you sure this will help?" Jake asked as he grabbed the bag handing it over to me. "Animals are like human beings. Why do you think scientists test them first for human products??" I said as I opened the box and grabbed a wet towel. I went over the pup and made sure he was clean. Jake leaned against the fireplace watching me work. "Okay, buddy. We need to clean your wounds. okay?" I said as the pup looked at me. I gently stroked it's back with the wet rag and his paws and legs. I managed to get him clean enough.
As I bandage the dog I glance over to see Jake tending towards the burning fire. He wore his black undershirt. He had given me his black leather jacket since I used mine to cover up the pup. The pup winced when he saw my alcohol wipe. "Hey, hey its okay. Look it doesn't hurt that bad. See? It's just gonna clean it. Nothing more. You'll feel a sting tho. So don't be too surprised. Okay?" I said showing the pup how the alcohol pad worked on one of the earlier paper cuts I had.I crouched at the end of the bed to look at the pup. "Hold still okay?" I said as I started to wipe a cut on the pup's eyebrow and on it's chest. "There. See? That wasn't so bad." I said smiling the pup nuzzled my hand as he sniffed and licked it. I smiled. I then heard foots steps from behind me, walk beside me. "He likes you." He said. I smiled ."I have a thing for animals." I said as I stood up and walking towards him. "He must be starving.. I'll bring food from downstairs." He said as he looked at the pup, then back at me. " You want anything?" Jake asked. I shook my head. "No, I'm fine." I said as I walked closer to him. "Are you sure the whole wolf transformation didn't freak you out?" Jake asked jokingly, grabbing my hand. He cupped my cheek and wrapped his arms around my waist.I softly chuckled as I put my arms around his neck. Our faces inches apart. "I don't mind. In fact that's just what's gonna make life a whole lot crazier." I said with a smile looking into his eyes. "Crazy as in good or bad?" He asked with a big wide grin on his face.
I smiled. "In a good way." I responded as I placed my hand on his warm cheek. He closed his eyes for a few seconds drawing his hand down my cheek onto my jawline. He then lifted up my chin softly placing his lips onto mine turning it into a full-out passionate make-out session. He wrapped his arms around my waist as I threw my arms around his neck. We closed our eyes. I wanted to be with him now. Now, that he showed me his big secret. Even if he hadn't planned on showing me his other half. I wanted to keep him close— No, I needed him close. We leaned away from each other. I placed my hand on his cheek. "Get back quickly, before anyone sees you. Okay?" I said as he chuckled. "Don't worry. I'm a master at stealth. Wolf, remember?" He grinned. I softly chuckled. "Don't get caught." I said as he slowly let go of our embrace and slowly walked out the door. I sat on the edge of the bed where the pup laid down. "Here, baby. Place your head on my lap. Use it as a pillow." I said as the pup did just that. I don't remember much but I knew that I had pasted out with the pup on the bed laying beside me. I guess the wolf incident tired me and the pup out. I was so focused on rescuing the poor baby when Jake came in and rescued both of us. I heard footsteps walk in. I opened my eyes a little seeing Jake. He had a bag of plates in his hand. He set it down on a table and then came over to me. "You must be tired. Huh?" He said with a soft smirk as he sat on the side edge of the bed.He gently stroked my hair. I guess he didn't know my eyes were awake or they were but I guess he saw I was very drowsy. He then picked me up bridal style as I laid my head against his chest. He tucked me in and picked up the pup and laid him next to me. He was about to leave when I then looked up at him. "Stay..." I mumbled. He glanced back at me. "Did I wake you?" He asked as he came to my side. "No, I was awake a few seconds before you came in." I said with a tired voice. I sat up. "Stay." I said as he walked over and I grabbed his hand he sat on the edge of the bed on my right. "Okay. I'll stay." He said in a whisper with a wide smile. I turned to my side as he adjusted himself behind me. He was outside of the covers and behind me laying on the covers turned to the side like I was on. He placed his arm around my waist. "Night, Jake." I mumbled softly as I closed my eyes. "Night Ave." He said as he kissed my forehead parting some hair from my face. "I love you.." was the last thing I said before drifting off to sleep. I swear I heard him say. "I love you too."
