Chapter 4: ~Chapter Three~ Lunch
"You wanna sit next to me at lunch?" Jacob asked, as we walked towards the lunch room. "hmm, I'll have to take a rain check. I made some buddies in math class. Let me see if their willing to let this one slide." I said as I smiled at him. "Already making new friends?" He asked jokingly. "What can I say, I'm a social butterfly." I responded as we both laughed. We stopped in front of the cafeteria entrance. There were about 40 round tables in the cafeteria. And millions of people walking around the cafeteria sitting with their clique or walking to get lunch. "I'll see you?" Jacob asked with a side-smile, as he walked in front of me, turning around to face me with his hands in his black jean pockets. I smiled at him. "We'll see." I said as I walked past him smiling, I could hear him chuckle.
I went to the back of the cafeteria near the huge glass window that separated the outdoor world from the cafeteria. I saw Abby and Samantha with some gal friends and some guy friends as well. I sat in between the two. "Ave! OMG thank goodness your here!" Samantha said as she gushed about how horrible all her classes were without me. She also introduced me to Noah and Jack.
They were two white boys. One blonde the other had red-ish hair. After she got done with introductions. "Hey, Sam I'm sorry to cut this one short. But, I promised I would go see a friend of mine at lunch. Can I make it up to you guys tomorrow?" Samantha looked at me with a sad expression but then looked past my shoulder at something I realized Jacob and Seth along side the other boys were looking at us.
"Your ditching us to go sit with the bad boy?!" Samantha gasped. She then smiled. "Tomorrow as your redemption, You have to tell us how it went!" Abby said as Samantha looked at me with puppy dog eyes. "Fine, I promise." I said as I got up from my chair. "And tell us what that hottie with the leather jacket says!" Samantha yelled over my shoulder as I rolled my eyes and laughed making my way to the boy's table. Once I made it to their table. "You took that rain check?" Jacob teased smirking at me. " I sure did, your welcome by the way." I said as I took my seat in between him and Seth. "I looked up to see Felix and Diego across the table. "Thanks for the rose Felix. I love it." I said as he blushed looking to the side rubbing his neck in embarrassment.
" N-No, problem." Diego smacked Felix's shoulder making him jolt. "Ouch!" He shouted looking at Diego who was smiling. I laughed. "Come on Diego, don't be mean to poor Felix." I said as Seth and Jacob chuckled. Felix smiled as I defended him. "So, what did you say to make them release you?" Seth asked in his thick new Zealand accent as I thought for a moment. "I told them that. I had promised a friend that I would sit by them at lunch." I paused. "They looked over my shoulder before I could say anything soo." My eyes went up then down. " What are you going to do to make it up to them?" Jacob asked curiously. " They said to make it up to them that I had to tell them the details of our conversations."
I held back to mention the Jacob part. "And?" Jacob caught on, he stared at me and so did the boys. Curious as to what I was going to say. "Samantha is also curious as to what Jacob says." All boys groaned, except Jacob who was smirking and intrigued by the sudden talk of himself. "So, your saying that anything we say in our conversations go straight to your friends?" He asked curiously, his eyes farrowed. " Not everything. I'll only say what dims fit." I say as Jacob cracks up a grin. The boys looked towards us. "The only guy here who gets more attention than us is Jacob." Seth says with a jealous smirk. "If it helps. I think all of you boys are handsome. Jacob gets attention just because he is the quote on quote "Bad Boy" of the group." I said quoting in the air with my fingers as the boys stare at me and then crack up in a laugh fest. Jacob looks at me.
"Is that what you think? or is that what others think?" He said leaning on the table a little closer than usual. I leaned my arm against the table looking up towards him. "That's what the school thinks." I said as He looked at me. "Then what do you think of me?" Jacob asked as he farrowed his soft brown eyes as if trying to see some reaction he smirked as he waited for me to respond." I think there's more to you that meets the average human eye." I say as his smirk turns into a side-smile. The boys look at us in aww. " Hey Ave." I looked over towards Felix. "Yeah?" I asked. "How many boyfriends have you had?" Diego asks cutting Felix off. I laugh. The boys stare at me. "That's hilarious. Seriously." I said in between laughs. I sigh. " I've never been in a relationship." I responded their eyes widened.
" That's a lie." Diego says falling back in his seat with his arms crossed and an eyebrow raised. "It's the truth." I said putting my hand up. "You've never dated anyone. Ever?" Seth asked between words pausing between them. I nodded. "It's the sad cold truth. Never had a sweet-heart." I shrugged. "Honestly, all the boys were just total amateurs and were just after sex." I said as they looked at me wide-eyed. " What school did you go to?" Felix asked innocently. " A very bad one." I said with a chuckle. " Either way. I've always prioritized my studies before anything so." I looked at the boys who were starring at me. "Why are you guys starring?" I asked smiling. "Well, regardless of your horrible past of not conquering love. We're happy we met you." Jacob says with his signature side-smile. The boys all smile. "You boys are great. I appreciate you guys not wanting to run away from my annoying ass." I said smiling with a little chuckle. They laughed. "Your not annoying Ave. Your interesting." Jacob said looking at me side-smiling as the bell rang. "Aww man!" Felix shouted.
"Well, that concludes our lil convo. See you in 7th." Seth says as we say bye to him and the boys. Once they leave I'm all alone with Jacob. "Seth is in our 7th period?" I asked looking up at Jacob. Jacob smiled looking down at me. "Him along side with the others and the Cullens are in our last period." Jacob said as he smirked. I was surprised. "We better get going before we're late." Jacob said as I get snapped back into reality by his voice. "Yea, lets." We both walked back to our 5th. Me and Jacob talked during 5th thankfully we didn't get in trouble. We found out we had the same 6th period. Once the bell had rung, me and Jacob went to 6th period together. 6th went by fast so then it was 7th. I quickly grabbed my things and slid my notebooks inside my backpack."Ready?" I heard Jake say as I looked up. He was patiently waiting with his charming side-smile. He had his hands in his pockets leaning against the door frame as I yanked my backpack over my shoulder."Ready." As said as he followed me out and we headed towards 7th. I walked through the door frame. I immediately heard cheering from the far right side of the classroom. It was Seth, Diego, Felix and some other guys Jake hadn't introduced me to.
I then looked towards the left. It was the Cullens. There was Adam, Chris, another blonde, two pale boys, one with brown hair the other light blonde.
There were also two other boys. One with black hair and the other with blonde hair.
I took my seat in the front while I looked at my entire class. Not a single girl. Well I'm screwed. I looked to my right and saw Seth. Felix sat behind me and Jacob sat on my left. Diego was sitting behind Jake next to Felix. The other two boys were sitting behind Seth in a straight line. The teacher was no where to be seen. I glanced once or twice over to the Cullens. They stared at us. No emotion but with curiosity filled with disgust? I turned to Jake who was already bored out of his mind starring at the written whiteboard. "Jacob~ You haven't introduced me to your friends." I said reminding him. He sat straight up. "Oh, The one with the serious face is Paul and the one who tries to act like a model is Max." Jacob said as the boys laughed. "Do not!" I heard Max say. I couldn't help but giggle. "Alright class." I looked up and saw the teacher. He wore a suit, had long hair and a mustache. He kinda looked like the alternative version for Jesus. Maybe hippie? "Today, we will be watching Twilight. You idiots have a new classmate starting today. So, maybe you can get work done easily? Yes?" The teacher said as he went over to the tv and bent down to grab a dvd. He opened the case popping the dvd out of the case and inserting it into the dvd player. As he was setting up I could hear the boys start chattering. I then heard my phone. I quickly bent down in my seat to slide it out of my backpack and check it. I had gotten a text from Kyle. It was a code he texted me that I told him to use if he ever got in a fight. It was IGITAF (I Got Into A Fight). I quickly springed up from my chair. "You okay?" I turned to face Jacob who had eyes of worry. "My brother got in a fight. I have to go. Watch my things!" I said as I sprinted out of the room towards the main office. Once I got there I saw Kyle with a blackened eye and some bruises. "Oh Kyle..." I whined running towards him and crouching. He was sitting outside the office door slouching. My face saddened. "Who did it?" I asked. He didn't make eye contact. "Kyle, I can't help if you don't tell me." I said as I heard the lady from the register. I walked inside towards the lady. "What happened?" I asked her walking towards the counter. "Kyle got into a fight with a kid in his class." The lady said. "Kyle can't fight. So, therefore he didn't start it." I said justifying the situation. "He was the one who started it Ms.Quintaña." The lady said in a annoyed tone repeating herself."I know my brother and he wouldn't be in a fight unless someone provoked him." I said as I grabbed a piece of paper from a sticky notepad she had on her counter. "I want the name of the student and parent contact information. I'm forming a damn lawsuit." I said getting my pen ready." We can't disclose the information." The lady says with a snobby attitude. I sigh in annoyance. "If you don't give me the information I mind as well form a lawsuit against the school then." Her eyes widened. I heard footsteps approach the entrance to the office. I looked back to see Seth and Jacob. I saw Kyle in between them. " I started the fight." My eyes widened. "Que dijiste? What did you say?" I couldn't believe my ears. "I started the fight." Kyle repeated. I leaned towards my brother."Did you get in a few punches??" I asked. He looked at me weirdly and so did Jacob and Seth. I leaned back. "Did you? Or did you not get in a few punches in before he did that?" I asked pointing to the bruises. He nodded. "Aye mijo! Estoy tan orgullosa!" I said with a smile."Wait, aren't you suppose to be mad or something??" He asked as I embraced him with a hug. I could hear Jacob and Seth chuckling in the background. "Nope, I'm as proud as can be. Mom and I made a bet and I won." I said smiling. Kyle looked at me and rolled his eyes. " I still wanna know where the kid is since this lady is no use." I said as the lady gasped in offense. "His name is Robert Dunly." Kyle said. "I know where he is." Kyle said. I smiled as I followed him out to the courtyard.
There on the football field stood a blonde snobby rich kid. Not gonna lie he was cute. But totally off the bat snobby and childish. "Wait for me here." I said as Jacob, Seth, and Kyle stood behind the railing. " What is she going to do?" I heard Jacob ask. " You'll see" Kyle said. I could hear him smile. I walked half way in the football field towards Robert Dunly. I saw that Kyle did get him. He had a bruised eye. And a busted lip. "Yo Dunly." I shouted. I was one foot away from him when I dropped kicked him. He fell flat on his ass. "What the hell is wrong with you lady?!" He shouted I grabbed his shirt collar and dragged him to the sidelines of the football field. "You like to mess with kids huh? Start fights huh? Well guess what? You just earned a free way ticket to the hospital today!" I said as I threw him against the wall and punched his stomach making him groan and bend down. I kicked the side of his stomach. Making him fall on the pavement. I kept hitting him on his stomach until I heard him cough. I then grabbed him by the collar again and punched him a few times making his nose bleed and his eye have a deeper purple. I almost made his lip more busted. I threw him down against the pavement as I heard footsteps coming. I turned to see Seth, Jacob and Kyle. "Damn sis." Kyle said in shock. "You fucked him up real good. Shit." He said laughing. Jacob and Seth looked at me shocked.
" What? Thought I was too pretty to fight?" I asked jokingly. Jacob looked up. "No, just surprised a small girl like you has the strength to do that." Jake said responding with a side-smile and pointing at the beaten up Dunly."Your...gonna pay for that." I heard Robert say as I looked down and grabbed his collar again. "Provoke my brother again. And I'll make sure you don't have a face that your parents can recognize." His eyes widened. I let go of his collar. "Your crazy bitch!" He said then running away. "Your the bitch! Your actually running away from your problems~" I said in a singing melody. I heard laughing from behind me. "We need to get to class." Seth said I nodded. We walked to my class. When we pasted the door frame the movie had started. "Ah, Miss, Quintaña you brought a guest?" The teacher asked sitting down. "This is my brother. Is it okay he sit in here til school is over?" I asked.
"I don't mind." He said. I thanked him and sat Kyle in between me and Jacob. "Hey, Ave are you going to the school field trip tomorrow??" I heard Felix say. I looked behind me. "No, where are we going?" I asked. "We're going up north to a skiing resort. We're staying over night for 3 months. Its insane!" Felix said excitedly. I smiled. "Do we have to fill out a form?" I asked. He shook his head.
"Well then. Yea, I'd love to go." I said." It's Seniors only." Diego said. I looked towards Kyle. "Are you gonna be okay without me here?" I asked him. He looked at me. "I'll be fine. Plus I have my own punching bag to practice on." He said laughing. I sighed. "Geez my baby boy is all grown up." I started fake crying. "Oh whoa es mi!" Kyle tapped my shoulder. "Sis stop embarrassing yourself." I paused. I looked at him dead straight in the eyes. He tensed up. "Boy you better behave yourself while I'm gone. If I hear you went to the club. Ima beat yo ass with a chancla." I threatened he looked at me with scared eyes. "Not the chancla." I could hear the boys laugh. We were already 20 minutes in the movie. The bell had rung and we were all dismissed. Jacob and Seth asked if I could carpool them to their house. I said yes. We said good-bye to the boys and left in my car.
