Chapter 7: Her
i walked behind her
watching her as she smiles
at those around her
only i know that behind her smile
she's breaking when nobody is around
i have to watch as her eyes once filled
with joy go blank , blurred with tears
i watch her break into a million
pieces then piece herself back
together
so she may be ready for the next
day that comes her way
she smiles at the people that
had hurt her
and without missing a beat
laughs along with the rest
seeming to be happy
brave and perfect
but she is tired and her
emoisons are a mess
at the end of the day
she comes back to me
with tears trailing down her cheeks
and tells me she is fine and that
it will get better
then falls to her knees
looks at me and opens her
arms and calls me to her
but as i go to her and embrace her
she wraps her arms around me
and whispers to me softly "You've done good".
then slowly disappears with a smile
on her face
knowing she has finally found peace
i was once her
she was the memory of the
former me
that i have now let go of
