Chapter 15: Walking in the park
Jonah (P.O.V)
Today I slept only for a few hours and I wanted to sleep more but I was hungry so I decided to make breakfast for myself. Mrs. Garcia took a leave today for his son's birthday, she wanted to spend her day with his son so, I gave her leave. I made a fried egg, toast, and waffles. While I was making fried egg someone came through the door and she was Ariana I invited her in. After taking my food to the dining room I wanted her to taste I think I did a mistake first I had to taste then give it to her if it's would be good in taste but it was the really bad taste I have ever eaten. So she decided to make lunch for me. I went to my room and kept some books on the table. I found an encyclopedia and started to read when I realized it's already half an hour I decided to go to the dining room. I saw Ariana keeping a bowl of instant noodles, I remembered that last time she cooked instant noodles. So, I wanted to ask her if she only knows to make instant noodles and when I asked she said she knows cooking so many dishes but she found this on a shelf and decided to make it. I ate my lunch and I said her to follow me. I was taking her to my bedroom because I have some books so that she can study for this final year. She argued at first but she gave up and started to study. She was fully concentrating on her studies and she was looking cute too. So I started staring at her all the time. After three hours of studying she looked up and then I bend my head down. I thought she got bored and she said the same thing. I decided to ask her for a walk but she started to think. I went to change into my t-shirt and pants. After changing she told me there is nothing to think about going for a walk and we left my house together. I saw Mr. Gonzales and he waved his hand but he was still afar from us. When he came towards us he hugged both of us and he only whispered to me that 'I am doing a great job' I don't wanna tell this to Ariana but I think she got mad at me.
We are now walking in the park with a completely silent I wanted to break this uncomfortable silence but she got mad at me. I don't even know what I should talk about?
"Let's go home" she announced and I nodded. it's already getting darker so we decided to go back. On the way home I saw an ice-cream parlor and I decided to ask her whether she wants to eat ice-cream or not.
"Do you want to eat ice-cream?" I asked her.
"I grounded because of ice-cream" she replied.
"So, you won't eat ice-cream in your entire life," I asked her with a raised eyebrow.
"I will eat, let's go but you are going to pay. I didn't bring my wallet" she replied with a teasing look making me chuckle.
"Sure," I said and we headed inside the ice-cream parlor.
We stood near the counter then after a few minutes Ariana asked the counterman to give Vanilla flavor and I asked the same flavor.
"Do you like Vanilla?" she asked with curiosity in her voice.
"Kind off" I replied and she made an "oh" expression.
After having ice-cream I paid to the counterman then we moved out of the parlor and walked from there. After a few minutes we reached to Ariana's house and I am walking to my door when she started to speak.
"Mrs. Garcia is on leave if you want you can have dinner in my house," she asked and my mood lit up after listening to her words. But if his dad cooked for only for himself and Ariana then he will have a problem so I wanted to say no thanks I will manage but she again spoke.
"My Dad always cooks in large amounts," she said as if she read my thoughts and now I decided to have dinner with them without any hesitation.
"Sure" I replied and we made our way to her house. We entered the house without a ringing bell because Ariana had the key. After entering the house I sat on the couch and I think Mr. Gonzales is in the kitchen. In a few minutes, Mr. Gonzales came out of the kitchen saying-
"Dinner is ready to come to the Dining room" he informed and I got up from the couch and walked inside the dining room along with Ariana. We reached the dining table and the dishes were already placed on the table making my mouth water. There are meatballs, spaghetti, and fajitas. We sat on the chair and started eating our dinner. After having dinner I came to my house and changed myself into regular comfortable wear. I throw myself onto the bed looking to the ceiling. This weekend was such a big day and from tomorrow I have to go to school and from tomorrow our special classes are going to start. While thinking about school and some stuff sleep took over me.
Ariana (POV)
I am now jogging with my dad and still, I am curious what my dad would have told him? I was thinking while jogging when I suddenly saw Jonah. I am still mad at him, he could have told me the words that my father told him but no he is a stubborn boy. I think I should ask him again maybe this time he answers me sincerely. When he saw me and my dad he waved hands towards us. I didn't wave back because I want to show him that I was mad at him till he doesn't answer.
"I am going to my couching center since I got one more job which starts from this time and Aari makes sure you eat your breakfast I prepared for you, ok" Dad instructed with a strict voice.
"Sure dad but you didn't inform me before that you got one more job," I asked.
"I forgot to inform you" he replied sheepishly.
"It's ok dad, for now, I forgive you but you have to give me my phone back," I asked while pouting.
"You are going too smart but take your phone" he finally gave my phone to me making me let out a huge smile.
"Bye dad, love you," I said and he returned.
"See you soon both of you," Dad said to us and we waved our hands towards him.
"Hi," Jonah said and I ignored. Should I ignore or be sweet for the answer? I asked to myself.
"Why are you ignoring me?" he asked and finally I decided to ask him again.
"What did dad told you, yesterday?" I asked and a smirk came to his lips and then he laughed.
"You are still curious to know?" he asked and I nodded my head.
"Your Dad told me that I am doing a great job" he replied.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"It doesn't mean anything serious I know you can study by yourself only you need a company," he said in a serious tone. I don't know what I should say so I kept my mouth shut.
After jogging I came back to my house and I dressed up in my school uniform and after taking all my belongings I went out of my house and Rain was waiting for me out of the house.
"Hi, Aari. How was your Sunday?" he asked after seeing me.
"It was boring" I replied.
"You could have come to my house," he asked.
"I thought it would be fun but at last it all sucks" I replied and he just said oh.
"Let's go, otherwise we will be late," he said and I nodded. We reached the school in fifteen minutes and I saw Ace I think he is waiting for someone and when he saw us he waved his hand towards us. We reached towards him.
"Ariana, why didn't you picked my calls," he asked and I got confused. I took my phone out of the bag and saw thirty Missed call, my eyes widen after seeing it.
"Any urgent, I mean why you called me continually," I asked. He rubbed his neck looking nervous and I even saw a tiny blush on his cheeks. After deciding for a minute he started to open his mouth.
"First, tell me. Why didn't you picked my calls?" he asked again.
"I was grounded for one week but today morning I convinced him so I got my phone but I didn't open my phone till because I didn't get time" I explained and I decided to ask him again because he was silent and he didn't bother to answer my question.
"Why did called me this much? I asked again.
"I thought you got angry at me for something that's why you are not answering my calls and I even didn't know what was a reason so I called you thinking you will pick at least one call but you didn't so I was waiting for you here" he explained and I don't know how to react because how could he think that I am mad at him because nothing had happened that will make me mad and if he was too anxious to know then he could have come to my house but I won't ask him that why didn't he come to the house because it will look creepy. In a few minutes, Jonah walked towards us.
"What are you all talking about?" he asked with a curious look between Ace, Rain, and I.
"Nothing" Ace replied but I was going to explain everything since he is our friend too but I didn't get the chance.
"Let's go inside the school then," he said and he started to move in.
