Chapter 10: Ice-cream
Ariana (POV)
Tomorrow is the weekend and I am curious to go to Jonah's house and meet his parents. From next week it will be more tiring as we have an extra class which is called self-study. I am on the way to school and today I didn't take my bicycle because today I didn't have a mood to ride on a bicycle. On the way, I saw Scarlett coming towards me but why she is coming towards me? is she has to say anything else? I thought to myself when she reached me she spoke.
"Hi! Ariana, hmm...actually I...I want to apologize to you" she said stuttering but I think she shouldn't stutter while apologizing.
"I know I said terrible things to you and I don't know how to apologize to you I mean I don't think you will forgive me," she said but why she thinks I won't forgive her at least she apologizes.
"I am really sorry, Ariana. Do you forgive me" finally?
"Well if you be my friend and if you treat me with ice cream then I can forgive you" I replied.
"I will sure give you treat and I will be glad to be your friend," she said. We decided to walk towards school together. We were walking silently when I remembered something.
"I think you always go to school in the car instead of by walking" I voice my thought.
"Actually, I wanted to apologize to you as soon as possible so that I could rest my soul so I came to your route because I know you always come on a bicycle but when I saw you, you were walking" I nodded.
"Today is Friday so I decided to go home late and spend my time with my two besties so, I decided to walk" I stated with a smile.
"I thought you won't forgive me so easily and why did you forgive me?" she asked and I had an answer for it.
"When I was six some other kid same as my age pushed me but she didn't do it purposely so, she was apologizing me but I was refusing to apologize so my mom teaches me if anyone asks me for apologize I should forgive her so, from that day I forgive everyone" Just thinking about my mouth made me miss her so much.
"Your mom thought you good things but if someone do a big mistake and you hate it too much then can you forgive them," she asked with curiosity.
"I will see on that day because I don't have an answer now" I replied to her honestly and she didn't ask anything else I think she doesn't have any words to say. We reached the school at the school entrance Lisa and Rain were waiting for me. They saw me after a few minutes when I reached close to them and then they greeted me and I did the same. We entered the school and I went to the Canteen because I wanted to have Coffee. When I asked them for coffee they told that they don't want to have. So, I entered the canteen alone and saw Jonah who was sitting alone on a chair with his bag and there were few people but they were not from our class. I went to the counter and took a coffee and walked towards Jonah and sat beside his chair. After seeing me he greeted me with a Hi and I did the same. Then I decided to tell him that Scarlett apologizes to me.
"You know what? While I was coming to the school Scarlett apologies to me and I made her my friend" I said and his face lit up by listening to that.
"That's good," he said and after a few minutes, he continued "I didn't think you forgive her so easily" he stated and I explained everything. After having coffee we started to walk to our class when I started speaking "Sports day is coming and I am excited about that because I will win in the running race" I said excitedly and what he said is "boring" making me huff.
"Hey! It's not boring ok". I said angrily.
"Whatever," he said and went ahead of me. Am I walking that slow so I decided to compete with him I started walking faster than him and when he understood what I am doing and then he laughed?
"Why are you laughing"? I asked in confusion.
"You are actually a small kid" he stated with a teasing tone and laughed even more.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I didn't mean to walk faster than you but I forgot my History book in a locker and I don't want to be late so I moved faster" he explained and I just nodded my head in embarrassment because I made myself a fool. After that, he went to take his history book and I went to my literature class.
After so many classes now I have painting class which is my favorite so I headed inside the class and took a seat on a chair I came early so Rain and Jonah still didn't come to the class but few Classmates were gossiping with each other and I hate gossiping. After a few minutes, both came together and Jonah sat beside me and Rain sat in the back of the seat.
"Aari, do you have an extra brush? I think I forgot to bring mine" he asked.
"I have but I will lend you in one condition," I said smirking.
"What condition?"
"I want to go Amusement park on Sunday so arrange me tickets," I asked.
"That's not the problem I will arrange for you" I lend him my extra paintbrush and then Ms. Carter entered the room. She stood in front of the class and she started to speak.
"Today, you can do painting what you all like and if you do your best the credit will be added to your final exams so all the best and start painting" she announced and we all started doing.
After an hour I finished. I did Unicorn which is in Forest and sunlight which is giving a beautiful shine in the painting. Then I submitted the painting to Ms. Carter and Ms. Carter appreciated me for the good work I went to the seat and saw Jonah painting and he is also a good artist he painted a swan which is on the water and everywhere is greenery and I liked his painting. After a few minutes, Rain came in front of me and showed his painting was Ms. James and it was really good.
"You have drawn Ms. James?" I asked.
"Yes, so that I'll get credit," he told and I just nodded.
After having a long day the school was over when I was ready to go home I saw Scarlett waiting for someone I went towards her and asked for whom she is waiting for. When she saw me she greeted me and I did so.
"For whom you are waiting?" I asked.
"For you," she said and I got confused.
"I think you forgot let me remind you that you asked for ice cream for a treat so I want to give you treat if you're free now you can come with me," she asked. And I really forgot about that.
"Yeah, I am free" I replied with a grin.
"let's go then," she said and I nodded my head saying yes.
"You told me that you will hang out with Lisa and Rain today so why you were going home after finishing school," she asked.
"How do you know that I was going to my house," I asked.
"You didn't remember about the ice cream so I thought you have also forgotten about hanging out" she replied.
"Hmm... actually it's our routine to hang out every weekend but they were not free, Lisa is going to her relative's house and Rain's grandmother has checkup so he took his grandmother to the hospital so both of them were not free" I explained and she nodded her head.
We reached to the ice-cream parlor and we sat on a chair. We took the menu to see and I decided to have butterscotch and Scarlett decided to have Chocolate flavor. Scarlett called for the waiter and gave him the order. The waiter was about our age and has a tattoo under his thumb. He took our orders and went to bring our orders. I saw the surroundings this ice-cream parlor is really good. The table cloth is a white color with red stripes and every table has a vase in which some flowers were kept and the chair was really comfortable and when I saw outside it was Raining I could see outside because the parlor has transparent glass I think this parlor is quite costly. After a few minutes, the waiter came with our orders and kept on the table in front of us and went to other customers to take their orders. I took one spoon and it was really delicious.
"Is it good?" Scarlett asked.
"Yes, it's delicious" I replied.
After having ice cream we headed out and it was still raining and now it seems heavy than before. In a few seconds her car came to take her and then she spoke.
"I can give you a ride," she asked but I don't want to trouble her. She insisted but I don't want to trouble her, and then she gave up.
"Take care then, bye," she said and sat in the back seat of the car and I waved my hand to her saying bye. I started to walk towards my house.
