Chapter 7: New student
Jonah (POV)
Today I woke up very late due to yesterday's party and now I am driving my car faster than usual when I saw Ariana who was running towards the direction of the school. She doesn't have a bicycle with her then I slowed the car, I called her name. When she heard me calling she walked towards me saying she wants a ride and I had to ask the same question but she asked first so I simply said to hop in.
"Even you are late for the school," she asked While I was driving.
"Yes, due to the yesterday party" I replied with a shrugged.
"But I have enjoyed yesterday party" I smile at her before replying.
"Same here" I replied while seeing her and then again concentrating on the road. I parked the car after reaching school and we both started to run to the class. After reaching there we saw Ms. Patterson was already teaching. When she saw both of us she stopped and all the candidates' heads turn towards me.
"You both are late Mr. Wright and Ms. Gonzales" she announced with a stern voice.
"Sorry, Ms. Patterson" Ariana and I said in unison.
"This is the first time that you both came late so, I am forgiving you both but from next time you both will have detention" we nodded at her strict voice.
I sat in my usual place and saw a familiar face and then I recognized her. She was my friend in a previous school but why she is here? I asked myself.
I started concentrating on my class. After having classes for four hours continuously we had lunch so Ariana, Rain, Lisa were waiting for me because they were already packed their bags and I just completed taking notes. I thought about why they always finish taking notes so quickly because the class was just finished.
"Jonah!!" someone called me.
"Yes" I replied and immediately saw the person and she was my old friend.
"Come on I will introduce you to my new friends," I said to her and grabbed her hand. They already left for the canteen after announcing me. I started dragging her to my usual lunch table. I saw Ariana and then I headed towards them.
"Jonah, Who is she??" Rain asked with a hint of confusion on his face.
" well.....She is Salina Davis my previous school friend and Salina these are my new friends Rain Skyler, Ariana Gonzales and Lisa Pelt" I replied pointing each of them and when I saw Ariana and Lisa they were still confused and giggling with each other but I didn't ask anything because it doesn't look fair to interfere between two girls talking so I started eating after a few minutes Ace came to our table with a chair because the chairs here are not sufficient so he brought a chair from another table and kept the chair beside Ariana where someplace was empty. He first greeted her and then us.
"Ariana, I made this sandwich at home do you want to try," he asked Ariana pushing his tiffin to her side.
"Oh..." she was going to say something but I interrupted her saying "I want to try your sandwich"
"Ok, take this" he gave me the sandwich. I took one sandwich and kept in my mouth and it was really delicious.
"How is it??" he asked in curiosity.
"It's good" I replied.
"Then let me try," Ariana said, and then she took one sandwich and started eating.
"Umm... it's delicious" she replied to Ace and somewhere I got jealous.
I saw Salina who was staring at me while eating her food but I ignored her because even in a previous school she used to do the same thing. One day I even asked her about this but she didn't reply to anything. I turned my head in front and saw Ace trying to impress Ariana and then finally the bell rang saying the time for the next class. We all stood up and went to our respective classes and today it was painting class so, it was only Ariana, Rain and I but today it was also Salina but I don't know why she chooses painting class because she doesn't know painting and also in the previous school she didn't take painting but I saw her painting in her room when she called me for help in doing homework so, it was me and Ian who was my best friend who went to her house. After reaching in painting classroom we sat in our respective places and in a few minutes, Ms. James entered the room and told us to start painting which was hanged on the wall.
Ariana (P.O.V)
Today's day was quite different because today was the first time I was late to the school and thank god I didn't receive the detention or any assignments to do. I saw Jonah's one of the friends and I can't believe he has such a rude friend because Lisa and I recognized her she was the same girl who pushed us by her shoulder which was yesterday that what we were murmuring during our lunch break. Today Ace was different and I didn't know he makes the best sandwich I have ever eaten. He also said to me he knows so many dishes to cook and I was quite impressed because I'm a foodie but I also saw Salina who was always staring at Jonah and he didn't ask her why she is staring at him that much. I am now in my room watching a TV show and suddenly my phone rang I saw the caller ID and it was Ace. I thought about why he is calling me after three-ring I answered the call.
"Hello!!" I greeted.
"What are you doing?" he asked and I don't know why he is asking me that question?
"Watching TV serials. Why?" I replied with a shrugged.
"I am cooking Lasagna, do you want to try," he asked with a nervous voice.
"Actually I was not well on Saturday because of lasagna and if I eat lasagna I won't stop so, I will pass" I replied.
"You should have told me if you were not fine," he said with a sad tone. I don't know why he is behaving like that?
"But you are not a doctor" I reminded.
"But I could have to comfort you," he said but it looks weird to me.
"it's ok if we're not there because I didn't have too much ache and Jonah was there to help me because he had antacid so with that I was well" I replied and took a small pause.
"If anything happens to you next time do call me I will be there for you," he said.
"Okay...then I think my dad is back I will hang now" I lied because Dad comes always before me and I lied because his words were too creepy and again I started to watch TV serials, after half an hour again my phone rang and it was Jonah.
"What are you doing?" He asked me and a déjà vu hit me.
"Watching TV serials" I replied with a nervous laugh.
"Instead of watching TV serials you should revise your syllabus" he suggested.
"Why do you care?" I asked
"Actually I don't care but I am your monitor so you should listen to me" I huff at his words.
"You are monitor in class not at home" I reminded.
"If you don't do well then you can't get good into University with a scholarship so you should start studying from now," he said I just got irritated so I hanged the call and went to the hall and sat on the couch thinking about his words, at some point he was right but still it's none of his business. After a few minutes, the doorbell rang and I got up to open the door. After opening it was Jonah who brought his school bag with him and I saw behind him Lisa and Rain were standing behind him carrying their bags making me frown.
"What do you want guys?" I tilted my head in confusion.
"We decided to do combine study" Lisa replied and they came in.
"When did I agreed with you guys?" I asked.
"We thought you won't agree so we came without your permission sorry for that" Rain replied and they all sat on the couch.
"Why did you thought I won't agree with you guys?" I asked them.
"Because you hanged the call without saying anything" Lisa replied.
"What is going on can anyone explain me?" I asked and I saw Jonah opening his book and looked at me before speaking.
"It was conference call" he replied and my jaw dropped.
"Why didn't you said first that it was conference call?" I asked with a disbelief look.
"You hanged the call" he replied seeing me and I simply said oh because now I don't have any words to say.
"Now go and get your books" Jonah stated.
"Ok fine" I decided to stop arguing and did what he said.
"Give me your today's notes" I asked.
"What about your notes"
"I didn't take down" I sincerely replied.
"For now I lend you but next time you should have to take down" he commanded while giving me his notes.
After studying two hours continuously not having any break, I started to get tired, and then dad shouted from the kitchen that dinner is ready and he brought chicken wings to the dining table. I immediately got up and went to wash my hand when dad spoke.
"Come on kids get up y'all are studying continuously from two hours now have dinner" dad announced making every one rush to the dining table. Dad chuckles while seeing the reaction.
All of them got up and went to the kitchen to wash their hands and after washing hands, we all sat on the dining table. I sat between Jonah and dad while Lisa and Rain sat opposite to us after that we started to eat while talking. After having dinner three of them went to their respective houses and I went to my room to sleep because today I really got tired.
