Chapter 89: Specific Preference

After the words were spoken, Mrs. Sheldon's smile was blooming like a rose.

But Layla was completely different. Her face had lost its color. 

'I am definitely hearing things now.' Layla tried to tell herself. How can Mrs. Sheldon say such vicious words out loud? 

'She was glad I took Kyle away.'

'But why?'

'Does she not like Kyle?'

Layla shook her head in denial. Sheldon's had always liked Kyle like their son. One could say they even treated him like his son-in-law at times.

'Then why?'

The question was killing Layla from inside. The emotions she was feeling were something she could not express with words.

Seeing the changing look on Layla's face, Mrs. Sheldon smiles brightly, enjoying her small snacks.

'What a live performance.' was the only thought on Mrs. Sheldon's mind.

Mrs. Sheldon wanted to enjoy the confused look on Layla, but she had to continue the play. The girl was irritating her now.
