Chapter 4: 4. The Remembrall
Classes were going fine for the next week then one morning, as the mail arrived, Draco was looking across the hall at the Gryffindor table. Longbottom had gotten a sphere and as he picked it up it turned red. I remembered back to a book I had read that it was called a remembrall.
Draco was still staring at the sphere. I asked him if he was ok and he said "I'm fine. We should get to class"
We finish eating and get to class.
When we got to flying the class was trying to get more than a fee feet off the ground today. As Longbottom tried to go up and his broom started jerking. Then he went up flying and got caught on a statue then fell about 5 feet to the ground. Landing on his arm. Madam Hooch went over and grabbed his arm "if I see anyone flying they will ne expelled before they can say quidditch." She took him to the hospital wing.
Draco noticed he dropped something he went to pick it up. When he saw it was the remembrall he said "Mayhe if the fat lump had given this a squeeze he would have remembered to fall on his fat ass."
"Give it here Malfoy" harry said.
"I think i will leave it somewhere for Longbottom to find." He got on his broom. Even though I knew he could fly I didn't want him to get expelled. So I told him to get down. He ignored me and went in the air. "What's the matter Potter? Bit beyond your reach?"
At this point Harry prepared to get on his broom. Granger said "you heard what Madam Hooch said plus besides you don't even know how to fly." Harry took off and she said "what an idiot."
"I completely agree. " I said to her talking about Draco.
"Give it here Malfoy or I'll knock you off you broom" harry said
"Is that so?" Harry tried to grab it. "Have it your way then" Draco throws the remembrall and Harry flies after it. Catching it right before it hits the window on the castle. He comes down and everyone cheers for him. Then McGonagall comes out and says "Harry Potter follow me" then he looks scared and they go into the castle.
Later that day I found out that he was on the Gryffindor quidditch team. As a seeker. That day I went up to Marcus Flint and told him I needed to try out for the team. He laughed at me and said "there were no spots open on the team"
"But you will need back ups if someone gets hurt. Right?"
"Hunter no first year has been added to a team in a century, no first year has been added to the Slytherin team in over 2 centuries."
"If Harry Potter can be added, and he isn't even good at flying, why can't I atleast try?"
"Fine. I will not hold a formal tryout for you. Meet me at the pitch 6 o'clock tomorrow night."
I thanked him and went back to my room.
When I got back Draco apologized to me.
"why would you do something so stupid that could get you expelled?"
"I'm sorry. I do not want to leave the school. Then we wouldn't see each other and I don't want that to happen. I should not have done it."
"Obviously " after I said that he hugged me and asked where I had been.
"I was talking to Flint and he said he would watch me play just to see if I can be on the team."
"That's great Hunter"
***the next day***
I went out there with my new broom and he asked me what position I wanted.
"I played softball when i was younger so I can use a bat pretty well."
He handed me a bat. We both went up into the air he hit a bludger near me I hit it straight through the middle goal post on the opposite side of the field.
"Alright Hunter. That was good. Can you do it again?"
He passed the multiple bludgers at me and I kept hitting them through the same middle post everytime.
"Fine you can be the back up in case anyone gets hurt."
We got down off our brooms and I hugged him. "Thank you Flint." He nodded and said he was going to dinner.
I changed my clothes and went to dinner too. I told Draco how it went and he congratulated me. We ate and went to do homework. I saw Granger was in there all alone and I felt bad for her but Draco hated anyone who wasn't pure blood. I left it alone and did my homework.
After we just went back and played cards then went to bed.
