Making the best of what I have
So i figures my best bet was to make the best of it all and expect that I was stuck here. As everyone hopes on horses, it was decided i would ride Lian who happened to be the injured one. On the horse I was right behind him, We ride for what seemed to be like hours and into the early. We get to the mountain peak where it was popularly known as an ambush.
"Hey tell him to stop"
He runs his horse over I tell them all to stop. I hand him my m16.
"If you shoot it don't be stupid"
I walk over to an open area and start whistling, holding my knives.
I see one hop out with a sword running towards me. I throw my knife and bullseye right in the head one throw dead.
I sense one sneaking up on me and I managed to fight him until I'm able to stab him in the heart.
I noticed they weren't worried about the blackpowder guns and more trying to stab me with their swords. One by one I kill every single one. I can tell they noticed me and saw how i operated.
the war chief walks over with the horse near me.
"So what do you do?"
"I'm EOD; but I'm trained in other things as well"
"Like what?" He's curious
"Well I know how to fight, throw knives, shoot, and archery"
"Impressive lad"
I hop on not understanding.
Before we know it we make it finally to Mackenzie Clan.
As I hop off everything confirmed that I was in the wrong time.
The war chief gets my attention as loved ones show up to greet and help out with the horses.
"Come"
We walk into the castle, travel down a bunch of hallways to where it looks like. This is Chief Mackenzie of clan Mackenzie.
"Welcome"
"Brother, this lad has amazing skills that we have never seen. Unfortunately us to time travel he's stuck here. I'd like to welcome him here to our clan"
Did he just call me a he? It must be the clothes since I'm dressed in my eyes the way a girl would be but I do have camouflage all over my face.
"Okay well the lad should probably change into something different, and show where he's stay"
Oh this is going to be fun
We walk down to wear an older lady is and he tells her that I'll need a set of clothes, he looks okay Lian, who than grabs some for me and I'm directed to wear the bath is for me to get cleaned and changed.
Great they really think in a guy.
"Something wrong?"
"Yeah uhm...can I speak with her?"
"Mary" he asked her to come over
"Yes lad what's wrong?"
"Lad means boy right?"
"Yes"
"I'm not a boy"
"Oh but what your wearing"
"It's my uniform"
"Oh dear let me get your stuff and I'll help you"
Oh shit my tattoos
I walk in the room with her and I start taking off all my clothes I'm being super careful because of my uniform. I get my top off and my boots of, my socks, and I decide to undo my hair. I finally get all my hair pins out and the hair ties out. I see the look on Mary's face, realizing that everyone had my gender wrong. I began working on the rest of my clothes and she sees my tattoos. She had a look like she didn't understand them, she began to pray when she sees them.
I go into my bag grab my face wash, hair products, and my soap it'll probably be the last time I get to use them ever again.
I get all the face pain off. Everything out of my hair and get completely washed. I scrub all the filth that I had on me. I get out and I dry off with a towel and she helps me out on what seems like an odd thing for someone to try and dry me off.
"Sorry I'm just not used to someone drying me"
"What are those on your body?" Mary asked me curiously
"Tattoos, I have a handful able to hide them all in my uniform"
"What do they mean?"
"Well my back is the world map, I've traveled so much since I joined the service that I need really had roots anywhere so I got that one. I have the rosary beads on my ankle, I grew up catholic and though it was a good ideas. A lot were just random ideas"
She looked at me weird about it not understanding why I would do it.
"It's popular in the future."
"I heard that you were from the future. What did you do for a living?"
"I'm military" I told her.
There something easy they can all understand
"Women in the military? So strange"
"Women are treated the same as men in the future"
I tell her. She starts laughing.
"Believe it or not, it took a long time to happen. This life may be hard on me but hopefully I don't do something dumb"
"Alright time to get your dress on"
She helps me get this white night gown on, than helps me deal with a corset, she didn't do it super tight so I can still breath, I'm stuck with this werid pillow right above my ass that I don't know how to respond to, and than we do the dress. She hands me shoes.
I feel weird as I stand in the mirror looking at myself, I hadn't worn one since I graduated high school, and I never planned on wearing one since.
"My stuff what should I do with it?"
Well get you a room dear. Follow me"
I follow Mary down to a room, while holding all of my things. I place them on a chair in the room.
"I'll go through it all later" I tell her knowing someone probably wants to speak with me.
"Yes, we are request for dinner and the chief wants you to sit with him, his wife, and the war-chief."
She walks me down to a giant eating hall, I noticed that Lian is staring at me shocked to discover that I wasn't a boy after all. A few of them I could tell were talking and not sure how to handle the news.
As I could tell the chief and war chief were also shocked by this revaluation as well. As I walk up to where they are I curtsy like how I did to the queen of england 6 months ago.
The chief let's me join them.
"Well this is something we didn't expect."
"Sorry I didn't know what lad was until they handed me the kilt. I've spent very little time in general in Scotland"
"What do you do for a living. Odis tells me you can fight better than his men"
"My exact job was EOD"
I looked at him "I disable bombs"
He looks at me with his eyes widen. "They let women do that?"
"I'm from a different time; the future men and women are equal"
I could tell it caught his wife's attention.
"Do you have a man waiting for you?"
"No most are afraid I can kick their ass, so dating of any kind is hard especially when you constantly travel the world."
"Travel how has that been?" The chief ask me
"I was in Germany when I got a call for the UN to assassinate the terrorist response for the London bombing. He was seen hiding in Scotland planing his attack on Italy and Rome. I did the job and somehow poof I'm here in the wrong timeline."
"Time travel?" The chief looks at me
"Unless you have a better theory?"
"I've seen your fighting, what can you do?" The war chief ask.
"I know 7 different forms of martial arts fighting styles, I can throw knives, I'm very talents at shooting, all my guns I'm fully mastered in, and I'm talented in archery." I tell them as i take a drink and realize it's beer.
Oh god I'm not a drinker.
"You don't like" the chief looks at me
"Sorry I do many liquor never been able to stomach beer. Not used to is with being underage to drink"
The raise an eyebrow
"You have to be 21 to drink where I'm from and I'm almost 19.
As we continue to eat they asked questions, and not worried i answered knowing telling the truth was my best bet. As I went off to my room to sleep. Lian catches up to me.
"Sorry lassie I though you were a lad. I feel foolish"
"How would you know, I'm not from this time" I tell him.
"What are you doing tomorrow?"
"No idea probably having to show them what I'm able to do, they had a million questions about my training and skills."
"Okay I'll probably see you doing it or see when they will have you free"
"Okay"
"Good night, lassie"
He kisses my hand and I just look at him weird.
"Sorry guys stopped doing that about a 100 years before I was born"
He giggles and walks away.
