Chapter 5: Chapter 5

Kaitlyn is lead to a room where she would be spending the night, Madison sat down with her as they talked.

"Kaitlyn, seriously, you don't have to do this." Madison said.

"I want to Madison, trust me, I really do. Theirs a lot that I am thinking about like prom and of course you." Kaitlyn replied with a genuine smile.

"Oh, really? Care to tell me exactly what you are thinking about me? Hmm...damn it and now it is going to bug me until I know." Madison responding biting her lip as she looked at Kaitlyn.

"You will have to wait and find out." Kaitlyn replied with a smile.

Madison pinned Kaitlyn down on the hospital bed kissing her and nibbling her ear. Kaitlyn squirmed beneath Madison's body then Mr. Somers walked into the room.

"Sorry girls, didn't mean to interrupt." Bryan's face turning a rosy red.

Madison got up adjusting her blouse then took a seat by Kaitlyn.

"I wanted to talk to you Kaitlyn about what you are doing." Bryan said as his cheeks began to come back to normal color.

"Okay, Mr. Somers, go on." Kaitlyn replied.

"I just wanted to be clear that you really want do this, I don't want you to feel like that you are being suckered into something that you don't want to do. Either way Kaitlyn to me you are an angel for wanting to do this for someone you don't even know." Bryan responded.

"Mr. Somers, I know what you are saying like I said earlier I lost my mom to breast cancer nothing that I was able to do at the time. Knowing that I am able to help someone is good enough reason for me to do this. I know that I will be able to do afterwards is limited like no over working my body by exercising too much or running, those are things I can live without doing. I just want to know Mrs. Somers will be able to have a full life also understand that what I see in your daughter is all that needs to be accepted. Mr. Somers you don't have to say anymore, I am in agreement that this is what I want to do." Kaitlyn replied with a cheerful smile.

"Thank you, Kaitlyn." Bryan responded as he stood up, placing a hand on Kaitlyn's shoulder and then left the room.

Kaitlyn glanced over to see that Madison's eyes were swelled up with tears, Kaitlyn wiped away the tears and at that moment Dr. Burns interrupted them a second time.

"Kaitlyn, I need to take you to get you're blood drawn to make sure everything is good." Dr. Burns said in a calming voice.

Dr. Burns and Kaitlyn walked down the hallway, down the elevator, to another hallway until they found a sign that said Laboratory which made Kaitlyn take a big gulp. A nurse took down her information as she sat in a brown chair with a support on the front, Kaitlyn watched another nurse put a blue tourniquet around her arm, her veins popped out, as they placed alcohol on her skin which felt very cold making her shiver, then the needle pinched her skin as she turned away from watching the blood being sucked into a tube. Lastly, gratefully the nurse placed a bandage over the wound and Dr. Burns took her back upstairs to see Madison still sitting there quietly.

"I am back Madison." Kaitlyn said as they placed her on the bed again.

Madison breathed a sigh of relief.

"Kaitlyn something has been bugging me, why didn't you tell me about your mother?" Madison asked.

"It is hard for me to, my father went and married my mother's best friend, I haven't adjusted to it. I haven't talked to anyone ever about my mother ever since she died, I was and still am blaming it on myself while everyone around me drank the pain away. Soon enough I began to work out that just built my energy into something useful then beating myself up." Kaitlyn replied with a frown as she kept explaining. "I have never been good at talking about my mom, she was one of the best people in the world. I haven't understood on why God would take someone so sweet like her away from me, I have kept it to myself for a long time and then things changed but hey, something good came out of it."

"Kaitlyn, I want to stay here with you tonight, I want to be with you every waking hour just to know that you're okay." Madison responded. "What was the good thing that came out of it?"

"Madison, you are so sweet, you do need sleep with all that has happened today and you are the good thing that came out of it." Kaitlyn replied with a smile.

"Being in you're arms would make me feel a lot better, you are also so sweet." Madison responded as she kissed Kaitlyn with passion.

They finished kissing than Kaitlyn made room for Madison, they snuggled against one another and they both fell into a deep sleep.

Next morning Madison woke up to find that she's the only one in the room, she jumped out of bed, headed into the hallway to find her dad standing by the door as if he is waiting for her.

"Dad, where's Kaitlyn?" Madison asked.

"They took her back already though she should be done soon and I know Kaitlyn will want to see you." He replied as he took a sip of coffee that he's holding. "She didn't want to wake you up so she sneaked out of the room and I have explained to her that I would wait for you to wake up. By the way, how did you sleep?" Bryan replied.

"I slept very good, I felt safe in her arms." Madison responded with a smile. "Dad, can I ask you something?"

"Sure, baby girl, what is it?" Bryan asked with a raised eyebrow.

"How did you know that you were in love with mom?" Madison asked with curiosity. She wasn't sure if she what she is feeling is in love but the way Kaitlyn would look at her made Madison's knees go weak. She never felt love before, she wanted it all to be right.

"It's when I constantly thought about her even when she's by my side and how I longed for when she wasn't. When I told her how I felt it relieved a big weight off my shoulders." Bryan replied with a smile of the thought of his beautiful wife. "Your mother is a amazing woman and still is each day. I love her more and more every day."

"Dad, I am starting to think I am in love with Kaitlyn, I know it is too soon to tell and I hope by Prom I will know, I hope she feels the same." Madison responded with a sigh.

"If she does then you are meant to be together." Bryan replied with a smile as he pulled Madison into a hug, he wasn't quite understanding at first but the way he saw how happy his daughter is with Kaitlyn it's enough for him to put aside his feelings.

Dr. Burns came walking down the hallway, his surgical mask is pulled down around his neck, and sweat beading off his head.

"They are in recovery now, follow me and I will take you to them." Dr. Burns said as he approached them.

Madison followed Dr. Burns through the hall hearing faint buzzing of machines, Madison stood with her father outside of the room when they both nodded to go in together. Madison walked in to see her mother who is laying their snoring away, on the other side of the curtain Kaitlyn is sitting up with tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Hey baby, how are you feeling?" Madison asked in delight on seeing Kaitlyn.

"Oh, a little sore but nothing your kisses couldn't take away." Kaitlyn replied smiling when she saw Madison standing in the room.

Madison kissed Kaitlyn gently trying to not hurt her.

"Now that is much better." Kaitlyn said with a smile to Madison.

Kaitlyn winced as she touched her side where the bandage is, Madison sat down beside Kaitlyn holding her hand.

"You got two days of recovery, what do you want to do when we get out of here?" Madison asked eagerly.

"I would love to spend time with you, take you to pick out your prom dress, and some other places." Kaitlyn replied smiling.

"What are those other plans?" Madison responded with a questionable look.

"You are going to have to wait to find out, I know that you will enjoy them, so no worries." Kaitlyn replied with a wink.

Pain surged through Kaitlyn's body, she had to close her eyes for a moment, opening her eyes for a moment and Madison leaving her kisses to heal the sore.

"Thank you, how is your mom? Kaitlyn asked with worry.

"Sleeping like a baby." Madison replied while chuckling a bit.

"That is good." Kaitlyn responded in a soft voice.

"Thank you for everything you have done for us, it means the world to me." Madison replied cheerfully.

"Madison, you mean the world to me." Kaitlyn responded watching Madison's eyes dance.

Kaitlyn held tightly to Madison's hand, the pain is enough for her to go through especially when you do it for love. Kaitlyn hoped in the right time that Madison would say I love you back to her.

Kaitlyn wanted so badly to tell Madison what is on her mind but as always fear crept up into her knowing it would be to soon. Love, what does it mean? Kaitlyn never felt anything like this before. Kaitlyn took a deep sigh looking at Madison seeing that she looked so peaceful, a strand of hair laid across her face and it is a Angelic moment. Kaitlyn moved the strand of hair out of Madison's face, Kaitlyn thought to herself that Madison is very beautiful. Kaitlyn continued to watch Madison sleep when Mr. Somers came on her side of the room.

"Hey Kaitlyn, how are you feeling?" Bryan asked with concern.

"Good." Kaitlyn replied.

"That is good to hear, I just wanted to say thank you again for what you did." He responded in a quiet voice.

"No worries, you would've done the same thing if you could especially if you are in love." Kaitlyn replied with a smile, it felt good to her to say those words out loud.

"I am sure that I would, all I can say is that Madison is happy with you because of that I am happy. I would like to wish you and my daughter the best." Bryan responded with a smile.

"Thank you sir, I know that you and Karen won't be disappointed." Kaitlyn replied.

"Madison is lucky to have you, I am lucky to have you as a part of my family." Bryan responded.

Kaitlyn watched as he walked over to his wife's side, the green curtain blocked her view, and at that moment Madison opened her eyes.

"Well hello there beautiful, glad to see that you are awake." Kaitlyn said to Madison with a smile. "You looked so peaceful sleeping."

"Don't you have anything better to do then to watch me sleep?" Madison asked as she stuck her tongue out at Kaitlyn.

"No, besides you are so beautiful that I can't take my eyes off of you and if you are going to stick your tongue out you have better make use of it." Kaitlyn replied with a wink.

"Thank you, you will definitely have to wait for that." Madison responded as she kissed Kaitlyn.

"No problem, I am only speaking the truth." Kaitlyn replied with a smile.

Kaitlyn and Madison sat straight up when they heard Dr. Burns voice on the other side of the curtain, he pulled open the curtain so that way everyone could see him.

"Ladies, you are both doing great, you are also being discharged as we speak. You both will be sent home with pain medication that is to be taken every two hours as needed for pain, other than that if any problems come up then follow up with you're local doctor or if it gets worse come back and see me." Dr. Burns said.

Wheelchairs were brought into the room by nurses, Madison helped Kaitlyn out of bed, Kaitlyn winced as she placed her feet onto the floor, gripping the sides of the wheelchair Kaitlyn eased herself down, Madison held onto her hands tightly and the look she saw in Kaitlyn's eyes she wasn't familiar with, it is a look of joy along with something else. Karen is already in her wheelchair going out into the hallway.

"Madison, do you think that she is still mad at me?" Kaitlyn asked.

"I don't see how she could be after what you just did." Madison said trying to reassure Kaitlyn.

"I hope that is the case." Kaitlyn replied with a force smile.

"Me too." Madison responded as she kissed Kaitlyn's forehead.

They all headed to Kaitlyn's car in silence when they approached the car Bryan helped Kaitlyn into the backseat while Madison got in on the other side. Kaitlyn watched as Bryan loaded Karen into the car then hurried to place all the luggage into the trunk of the car.

"Kaitlyn, I don't know how to thank you for what you have done. I know that we got off to a rocky start though it does mean a lot to me for you to do something like that especially for someone that you barely know, this is my way of telling you that I am glad that you are with my daughter." Karen said as she got comfortable in the front seat.

"Thank you Mrs. Somers, I am glad you are alright with this, now that means a lot to me, as for me doing this for you I don't need anything in return it is something that I wanted to do." Kaitlyn replied smiling.

Kaitlyn looked over at Madison she thought to herself could this day get any better, soon she could tell Madison that she loves her after all Prom is only three days away.
