Chapter 36: Arc 2: 2.12

(A/N: I'm so sorry for not updating for about 2 months I think. I was so busy with my uni stuff. Too much is going on right now in my life, so then it got me stuck with it for quite a long time. Now that it is near the midterm exam, I haven't sorted out what I'm gonna do or anything. It will be an irregular update or occasionally update if I have time from now on. As I have no stock chapter, I will post the chapter right after I finished them. Lastly, I'm so so sorry!)

After the announcement, everywhere in the Netherworld celebrated like there was no tomorrow. All the dead spirits in the Netherworld of the human realm were very grateful for Empress. After their emperor found his empress, the Netherworld was like in a new era.

The new holiday that would soon be celebrated was Valentine. This holiday was served for the mourning for their loved one that was still alive somewhere among the plants that were linked with the Netherworld. They nearly forgot their past life when they had come here.

Now listening to the explanation that was provided by the announcer from the palace, their once stone heart, could feel a slight heartbeat after a long time stopping.

They were really looking forward to the holiday and they also could receive the Nether Light on that day. The joy atmosphere of the Netherworld continued until the holiday itself arrived.

The Day Before Valentine Day In Netherworld

Currently, Nineteen was still nestling in the Nether Emperor's embrace. He didn't even bother to open his eyes even though he had already woken up. Upon waking up and saw this cute reaction of his wife, the Nether Emperor was a little tempted to do something naughty to the one in his arms.

"Mhm..."

Thus, the self-control of the Nether Emperor was ended instantly after that. Nineteen who was half-awake eventually got fully awake due to a hot kiss from a certain someone. They both rolled in the sheet for the whole early morning.

It was around 12 o'clock in the afternoon when Nineteen got off the bed, he took a look at the person sleeping next to him. Nineteen couldn't help but felt happy, so he sat by the edge of the bed and had a silly smile on his face as he's looking at The Nether Emperor's bed hair.

Nineteen then proceeded to change his clothes to the working dress and other formal clothes. He went to the Nether Palace's hall room and summoned everyone that worked in any important position and department. His purpose for this meeting was to settle things for Valentine's day that would be tomorrow to be exact.

10 minutes later

Every dead spirit that held the position of the director and deputy director of every department in the Netherworld had arrived at the Nether Palace's hall room. There were also those who worked in the Nether Palace, too.

They were all wondering what was going on that needed the Nether Empress summoned them to the palace. Everyone looked at each other as they also didn't what was happening, so they could only wait for the Nether Empress' announcement.

Nineteen arrived at the Nether Palace's hall room a few minutes later after they were all gathered in the room. As they sensed the appearance of the Nether Empress, suddenly the hall room got silent and was left with no whisper or chattering like before.

*ahem*

Nineteen was smoothening his throat in order to calm down his nerve. Although he used to give a speech or present his assignment in front of the class, he couldn't help but felt overwhelmed by the crowd below him as they were more than a hundred headcounts. He opened his speech by greeting everybody and introduced the agenda for this sudden summoning.

"Good afternoon, my subjects! Are we disturbing you by summoning you all to the palace?"

Those dead spirits that stood below the platform shuddered in fear, so they hurried to bow in order to deny Nineteen's speech, as everyone voiced out in union, "We dare not!".

"Alright! We're glad to hear that! Now lets us move on to our agenda for this urgent meeting."

Everyone held their breath as they were waiting for the Nether Empress to continue his speech.

"Like everyone here, all know that every human that has died in the human realm will all be transfer to our Netherworld of the human realm. Then they become dead spirits as that what we called the being in our Netherworld.

They need to work hard to earn merit points to be able to get a better position, get rid of their past sin, and able to reincarnate in a better situation than they did before.

In this case, they earn merit points through working in various departments in our Netherworld and occasionally have a chance to absorb the Nether Light that is an excellent thing for them to move up the rank.

However, the Nether Light during the last thousand years only appears once every year as the Nether Emperor hasn't found his Empress.

Now that we're here, the Nether Light can appear more frequently than before. Thus, we like to add a few holidays for the dead spirit to celebrate those days, take a rest, and also able to receive the Nether Light at the same time.

We have a few descriptions of those holidays above that we will elaborate on later in the meeting. Now, what do you think of these suggestions?"

Those below the platform stood still as their face showed a dumbfounded expression to Nineteen. Nineteen nearly laugh from seeing those funny expressions of these dead spirits, but he held himself back in time. Otherwise, the dignity of the Nether Empress could no longer found.

After they were speechless for a while, they came back to their sense as quickly as possible, then they began to whisper to each other, soon the hall room filled with chattering.

Right after 10 minutes mark, the discussion below soon died down and an elder dead spirit came forward from the crowd, as it seemed they chose him as the representative for their crowd.

"Paying respect to your majesty, the Nether Empress! This servant goes by ID 04347392642, General rank, held the position of the chief steward of the Nether Palace. As per our brief discussion a moment ago, I was chosen to be the representative for all the subjects under the Nether Emperor and the Nether Empress.

We all very appreciate your majesty's consideration toward all of your subjects in the Netherworld. As we also think that this is a great idea from your majesty, the Nether Empress, so we would like to express our deep gratitude. We wish the Nether Emperor and the Nether Empress live thousand of years that fills with happiness and prosperity."

As soon as the last sentence ended, every dead spirit in the hall room started to kneel on both knees and bowed deep down till they hit the floor while they kept repeating the last sentence loudly three more times.

Nineteen as the Nether Empress suddenly felt a little embarrassed as they were too many dead spirits singing praise for him. Soon the noise in the hall room turned back to the silent one as everyone was waiting for Nineteen to carry on with his speech.

"Alright! We hear you. Then, lets us settle things in this way. There are 6 holidays such as Valentine's Day, Labor's Day, Ennoble and Farewell Day, Nether Coronation Day, Netherstar Day, and New Year Day which is the annual festival in the Netherworld and what we called 'The Birth of the Netherworld'.

As we recently have celebrated 'The Birth of the Netherworld' for over 2 months, now it's time for Valentine's Day. Two months later, it's Labor's Day, another 2 months later, it will be Ennoble and Farewell Day. Then another 2 months, it will be Nether Coronation Day, another 2 months it will be Netherstar Day.

Then we will be back on New Year Day. So it is like this, the circle will repeat from one year to another year with the same timeline. Now we will tell you about the detail in each holiday."

(A/N: I forgot the timeline a little, so I skip the date to 2 months after the Birth of the Netherworld. XD. I hope it makes sense, right?)

Nineteen started to describe all the detail and operation that would be needed during those holidays. The meeting had been going for the whole afternoon, and only in the late evening that the meeting considered close. Anyone with the task hurried to complete it as they were also looking forward to tomorrow, Valentine's Day.
