Chapter 129: "Shelter from the Cold Rain"

"There must be some kind of mistake," Gem said nervously. "Maybe you had not scanned my I.S. Code properly. Please do it again."

The airport staff agreed, but the scanner didn't acknowledge her I.S. Code again. "Sorry, Miss. But you're not allowed to go."

Gem worriedly glanced over to Jen and Chelone, as well as the other mutant kids. She noticed that there was no mutant caretaker with them but only the armed men of the security team.

"Oh, Miss Sayaka, you're really here," Sanya told her. "Didn't Miss Brentvale tell you about it? That you're not included in the trip?"

"What do you mean I'm not included?" Gem said, slightly raising her voice in disappointment, "Miss Jen told me that I am going to accompany Chelone-"

"Oh, about that," Jen suddenly interrupted, "I told you that I will ask for permission, but I never said that it is approved. Unfortunately, since Miss Mayheart has already decided not to include you, it is beyond my authority."
