Chapter 285: The gift

"Zane, how are you settling in Amherst College? What class and level are you currently in?" His grandfather asked and the entire discussion around the main table stopped as everyone turned to look at Zane, waiting for the answer.

Zane dropped the wine glass and smiled faintly, "School has been great, the teachers have been helpful, and I am enjoying every single day, it can be a bit stressful though. I recently leveled up, Level 7 Sniper and Level 5 Alchemist."

The whispers around the table increased dramatically when the words left his mouth.

"He is eighteen years old, he just woke up this year."

"That is pretty impressive."

"Is he telling the truth?"

Zane had to hold himself back from smirking, Vanity was a fatal flaw after all. He just looked up to meet the gray eyes that were staring at him, His grandfather. He was smiling as well but that smile did not make Zane feel pleased in any way.
