Chapter 98: A quest

Niko clapped again and one by one, the people who had been entertaining the party all left the room, leaving Niko and their party of ten. They ignored him for a moment and discussed among themselves.

"Thank you, Zane! It was Zane who woke me up. I dread to think of what would happen if he did not."

The gazes that were fixed on Zane changed and Zane could feel some of those who were wary towards him become more friendly or at least more neutral. He gave them a friendly smile.

"An artifact that woke me up." Zane explained and Mary's eyes lit up. She suddenly rushed towards Zane and Zane abruptly stepped back, making the young woman look helpless but she was too curious.

"An artifact, can I see it then?"

"Perhaps another time, Mary. This time, We were careless. I should not have accepted the invitation to wait. I would ask to see the king at once. Does anyone have a contrary suggestion?"
